This is what I’ve come for really. This sort of scenery. Oh, this is beautiful. Morning. It’s Sunday the 5th of October. I’ve just had a little stop to delay a little bit. Um I’m at East Leaks Gypsum Gypsum Works. So lovely scenic spot to to delay. But the plan is to cycle out into um just go over the board into Darisha. Now, I might go to Melbourne T- Rooms, or I might go a little bit further to call Kabi, which I’ve never been to before, or maybe to uh Strontton Harold T-room. So, it depends how how far I want to go really. I can make it a longer or shorter route route. So, yeah, let’s get on with it and get into Darisha. So the plan is just to head past the the power station of Rackon Saw Rackon Trent, sorry, and uh past East Midlands Airport and make our way over the border into Darasha. Like I said, I don’t know how far we’re going to go, but got a strong headwind going out and hopefully a tailwind coming back. So just entered Goth Goam now. Nearly said Gotham then. So from gom you can enjoy these really great views on these country lanes. There’s countryside either side and then you’ll pass through the pictures village of Kingston upon saw with some nice stone cottages country gardens and the lovely church of St. Winter. So then it’ll be off to Kegworth and over the motorway just coming into Kingston. No worry. Yeah, Kingston on saw and then we’re going to head to Kegworth. So, we’re just coming into Kegworth now. It’s nice and sunny but very, very windy. So, from Kegworth, it’s just a short hop over the M1 and then you’re into all the distribution centers around the East Midlands airport. So, we’re just going past the uh Amazon distribution center and East Midlands Gateway. So, it’s a really busy hub. is heading towards the village of Lockington. There’s DHL as well. So, we’re just coming to the village of Lockington, which is a which is a real picturesque village, bit of an oasis next to the um airport, a motorway on all the distribution centers. It’s a quite quiet quite little village tucked away. And there was a great cafe here called the Green Rooms, but I don’t think it’s open anymore. No, it’s closed. Oh, I wonder why. Oh, closed the cafe permanently. So, this is Hemington. Wow. This is another cracking little village tucked away. Some thatched cottages as well. Beautiful. Oh, look at that. All these little villages. We’re now heading towards Castle Donington. So, we’re now on Clap Gun Street in Castle Donington. Right, we’ve just come through Castle Donington and we’ll just get to the airport now. Oh, that wind is so strong. There. Yeah, the famous Donington Park. There’s obviously a meeting on today. You can hear them. So, we’ve just got off that busy Melbourne Road near Castle Donington and we The countryside’s really opening up now. This is what I’ve come for really. This sort of scenery. Now, we just entered a place called Wilson. What’s that film with Tom Hanks? Is it Castaway? Wilson more thatch cottages. Beautiful. Oh, this is nice as well. A lovely lovely picturesque village. As you can see from the map, it’s right on the edge of the lesser shadabisha border. Yeah, very nice. Oh, starting to get hilly. So, we’ve come from Nottinghamshire. I think we’ve just skirted through the edge of Leicster and now we’re in South Darbasher. So, another three counties ride. So, from here we head towards the town of uh Melbourne where there’s some really nice tea rooms. And in the past, that’s been my destination before heading back uh back towards home. So, this about 20 mi from where I live. Or I think I think I can decide to carry on and go further around into Darbisha and Leicia too. Right. Melbourne and Darasha, not Australia, thankfully. Now, there’s some great tea rooms here, and this was my shorter ride option. I’ve been here before a few times, but I think I’m going to carry on. Let’s just have a look when I go past. It’s another picturesque village. I think they’re here here on the left somewhere. Right. So, these are the T- rooms at Melbourne. You just seen some cyclist coming there now. But I think I’m going to carry on. I’m going to carry on to either Cork Abbey or Staon Harold T- Rooms. It’s a might as well. Feeling feeling okay. I think I’ve got a few more miles of me yet. So, I’m going to carry on and uh go to the next T rooms. I’m really glad that I decided to carry on because I went through some really beautiful countryside and some cracking little villages signs for core cab. What another absolute cracking village as well. Beautiful. Oh, I like that bridge as well. Oh, but those black clouds. Am I going to get rained on all the way home? Right. Should we go to C carab then? Let’s go there. This is a way to the tea rooms. Wow, this is nice. some massive trees. Must be, you know, a few hundred years old these. What I didn’t realize is that as it was National Trust owned land, um that you’d have to pay a fee of £8 to enter even if you just wanted to go to the cafe. So, yeah, I didn’t really want to do that and decided to carry on and go to another tea room. Well, uh it’s a National Trust place and it was going to be an 8 pound charge if I was staying, but obviously I’m not. I’m only going to go to the for a c coffee, but she let me drive through. So, I’m going to go through and find another coffee coffee place. Oo. Yeah. Beautiful. Stunning grounds. We’ll go to Staon Harold instead, which is I think it’s just about a mile down here. It’s just looking a little bit gray and overcast at the moment, which is what I’m worried about. Oh, blind me. Morning ladies. So, the Stuntton Harold Estate is a 2,000 acre estate which is on the lesser Daria border. I have been here before a couple of times, well, a few years ago now. The Ferris Center. So, the Ferris Center is the former Georgian stables to the estate, but is now full of arts and craft shops and cafes. Wow, look at this place. Stuntton Harold. Beautiful estate. Wa! Oh, this is beautiful. I have been Yeah, I’ve been here before, but a long long time ago. These beautiful lakes. This place is definitely worth a visit. I wish I’d had more time to stay and have a look around. So, we just crossed over the A42 heading towards Worthington. Oh, the first bit of rain of the day. I’m hoping that’ll pass. Ball goes down. Must come up. Here we are. Worththington. Never been here before. Beautiful. There is a connection between Osgorp and a 1970s rock group who used to sing 1950s songs. You need another clue? Any idea? Pretty Little Angel Lies. Three Little Angel Lies. Now, you probably won’t get it from my rendition, but it was Shawadi Wadi. Yes. Apparently, one of the members of Shawadi Wadi had day club here back in the day. Wow, look at this. This is beautiful. Oh, lovely road. Nice tarmac. Great scenery. This is what I like cycling on. So, this is why I enjoy cycling so much. There’s so many of these country uh lanes with absolutely fantastic views. Decent tarmac as well. We gravel. Got to be careful though. A bit of gravel on the road and that’s it. Game over. or a pothole or a bit of a cowok. Wow, what a beautiful cemetery. I know nobody wants to end up in there, but what a peaceful location right in the heart of Leicester countryside. Look at this. I mean, I’m not going to lie to you. This morning, I didn’t really fancy coming out, but I’m glad I did now. It’s what it’s all about. Getting out, getting some fresh air and seeing these amazing views. Look at that. Right, just left the gates of the cemetery there, Osgth Cemetery, and we’re going into Osgorp itself now. So, all I had to do now is use this tailwind to cycle through this fantastic scenery through these Leicester villages and over the border back into Nottinghamshire. Really enjoyed this part of the ride. Sorry, mate. All right. Holy hell. How fast is he going? He’s got a rock track. [Music] Woo. Right, we can just turn left here to East. Nice bit of descent. So, if you’ve enjoyed the video so far, please like and subscribe if you haven’t already done so, and uh hit that notification bell. Thank you very much. It really helps the channel. Well, we’re just making our way from Costto through to Weissol. It looks like this road’s been tmapped quite recently, which uh is a pleasant surprise, especially in Nottinghamshire. So, just like to say thank you for watching the video if you watch it this far and uh until next time. Oh, look at those views. Beautiful. [Music] [Music]

Hey, good old ride there, Simon. Melbourne was quaint -well worth a stop. What's the betting – and I haven't looked – that those grounds at Staunton are Capability Brown? Well, awesome whatever. All the best. Mark
