Certainly feels to me as the game gets underway. Burners straight back to Beedle that we seem to be heading in the right direction and they’re having a little bit of a wobble as the ball’s not long and Dykes clatters to high who still wins a good header. Yeah. The other key thing though is it’s a horrible day. The wind is terrifically high. Windas feeds at the edge of the area. Here’s O’Brien. Chance to shoot. Squares it instead. had left footed shots too close to the keeper but he saw it late and just about palmed it away. Good strike that by She then here’s Windendas and he hits a shot on target which Leard again heads away with the keeper diving. Rexom really piling it on all of a sudden. Well set piece from the training ground. One pass into O’Brien on the edge. He sets sheath who hits it. Looks like the keeper sees it late because he only parries into Windas’s path who’s cuts in. hits on target. Saved again. Corner comes in and it’s ransom take the lead. That pressure was terrific and in the end it told the corner swept in Birmingham unable to deal with that and Rexom are ahead. Yeah. But sorry Mark, we spoke about how poor Birmingham have been on set pieces on match day live and they’ve just shown it again there. But it’s don’t take anywhere anything away from Rexom. It’s too brilliantly worked corners just on that one. Max P gets the first touch. Big header from the big center back and Dobson’s there to head it home. They’re looking around for offside but I think there’s still a man on the line but yeah, five of the 10 goals that Birmingham have conceded from set plays. Great first contact. No chance of being offside. He stays on his post which allows Dobson just to sneak in in front. I love that position in front of the keeper. Five a season if you do it well. It was a one at the Millennium Stadium. He’ll be available for all the games then. Oh, the back pass is bad. O’Brien intercepts. Oh, and misses. I mean, the keeper’s done well, but O’Brien’s got to score there. Here. Rexar again. Longman in the box left hand side. Pulls it back. Well read by Dykes back there helping out and it’s cleared but Stansfield on the chase. Great pace that by Haim to get there first. O’Brien’s got to score. The keeper’s made himself big. Low barrier got to just lift it over him hasn’t he? Yeah when he he reads the play, plays it blind and he just nicks inside. Clara gets his body in just has to just get it off the floor. The keeper’s gone down early. He’s gambled and he’s gambled right. He had one on Tuesday night in the first instance by Doyle but Gray skips past into the edge of the box gets past Dorson. Good save high to his right pushes it around the post. Great run that by Gray but Okono equals to the shot. Yeah, great feet by Gray. Plays the forward pass early. Gray’s first touch is brilliant. Just do he’s got Dobson but it just just eases out the way. Chops inside, hits early. It’s a good hype for Arthur. Good two-handed diving header, but it’s quick work that to switch the ball over to the right. And now a chance for a cross and the ball stood up to the far post. Gray gets there. Rex on the foul, not given. And Gray scoops it over the bar. Kabore went down with Gray behind him, but it wasn’t the most convincing shout for a foul. And Gray slightly off balance. Maybe should have done better than just scoop it over the bar like that. Yeah, there definitely no foul. I think it’s just Kabo trying to retreat and he just backs up and ends up on his backside. But it’s the first time Aata on this right hand side for Birmingham has got that bit of freedom and that bit of space away from Ryan Longman who’s done ever so well again in this game defensively. And you can see the quality he’s got when he does have that little bit extra space. It’s a it’s a really good chance actually for Deari Gray’s just backing up again a little bit. And Stansfield is running dangerously through the middle. Plays a through ball. Roberts one scores and just 21 seconds into the second half, Reximmer caught with a sucker punch. How frustrating is that? Dobson looking to just thrash the ball away. I don’t know if he was thinking he could knock it off a player for a throw in, but the ricochet fell for Stanfield. Great diagonal run ahead of him by Roberts and Rexom have surrendered their lead in frustratingly easy manner. Yeah, nightmare start to the second half. I think Dobson was just sort of playing for that that throw in just to sort of lash it away. You see exactly what he’s doing and it just plays in nicely, doesn’t it, the Birmingham man in that little gap in the middle of the park and it’s a lovely, lovely little bit of play. I think maybe Callum Doyle just switches off a little bit, lets Patrick Roberts run across him. It’s a really good run from Patrick Roberts. Take nothing away from that. Just goes that diagonal. He’s definitely on side. It’s a great through ball from Stanfield and then no mistake on the finish. Having worked so hard in the first half that is so frustrating as Kabori over the top. Windas nearly latched on to that Robertson tight hold their shape. Cross comes in from Gray. It’s a good one and it flicks across the goal for a goal kick. Dikes stretched. I think he got a touch onto it six yds out. Couldn’t control it. Difficult one. Birming the better of this half so far. It’s a brilliant ball into the perfect area. It’s a great chance. Lyndon Dyes just not sure whe whether he’s a bit unsighted. Does well to get something on it ahead of Hyam I think it is in front of him back inside. Gray defending against him. Shakes him and beats him. Cuts him back onto his left again. Places a near post and it’s blocked. Rex shouting for a penalty. Corner given. Rexom fans and players really adamant about that one. It was helped around the corner. There’s a big shout. Was the body in tucked in though? The arm rather. Yeah, just waiting to see it back. Feeds it back to McClean. We’ve had the five added minutes and the referee, I’ve got to say, true to form throughout stops play when rex were on the attack and it’s a one all draw and game of two halves. Can I throw that cliche?

  1. I found the missing piece: Wrexham’s players lack passion. When you’re playing at home, you have to be aggressive. In leagues like the Championship, that’s where you make the difference. And the fans are terrible ,90 minutes of silence. I guess the supporters deserve the National League. I wish Rob and Ryan had invested in a more spirited northern English town.

  2. Why has sky sports called this a Hollywood derby!!! How pathetic Wrexham is in the uk Birmingham is in the uk cos it’s owned buy so called actors it’s a Hollywood derby 😂😂😂 both teams are shite too!

  3. Well, the bad news is promotion contenders win games like this. The good news is relegation fodder lose games like this. Wrexham should be happy with the season so far imo. On pure squad value, even spending £33m in the off, Wrexham are a low-relegation level Championship team. They might not be massively overperforming yet but they're definitely not underperforming, and they're getting better.

  5. a few comments hinting at promotion… then what? a lower points total than derbys 11 in 08? seems like the quick rise up the leagues has got these fans heads in the clouds.

  6. That's twice now O'Brien has missed an absolute sitter. One against Southampton and now Birmingham. If he had put those chances away, Wrexham would have been 6th with 15 points by now
