I'm planning to upgrade my gravel bike to a 2x SRAM setup and was hoping to get some advice here before I pull the trigger on any parts.

I don't see officially SRAM selling a 2x gravel setup (for wider chainline bikes), so I'm hoping this will work on my bike. I have a steel frame with round seat tube, so I'm hoping a WIDE braze-on adapter clamp will do the trick.

Let me know if you've done this or something similar !

My bikes specs:

  • Chainline = 49mm
  • Seat tube diam. = 28.6mm

Drivetrain components:

  • SRAM Red E1 WIDE cranks (00.6118.690.009)
  • SRAM Red E1 46/33 chainring (00.6218.046.000)
  • Either SRAM Red E1 or Force E1 Front mech (not WIDE), rear mech (not XPLR), shift-brake controls, calipers, etc.
  • SRAM WIDE braze-on adapter clamp to push chainline to 47.5mm (11.7618.000.003)
  • Shim for adapter clamp (28.6 -> 31.8mm)
