  1. Nah man, that’s a go anywhere bike. I’d ride it, it’s bass ass. But do yourself a favor and get some hydraulic brakes next time you feel like spending some cash on your bike. You can get a set of Deore 6100’s F/R for like $120

  2. How do you like the Surly corner bar? Does it feel like a traditional drop bar in the sense that you can tuck low/aero position on it, and apply force when you sprint/climb?

    PS – sick bike

  3. Surly; dope. Sick bars; dope. Top tube pad in camo; dope. Rack and bag; hi-vis and dope. Leather saddle; dope.

If it makes you smile it’s the right bike.

  4. Not nearly as stupid as it could be! I say this with love as a rider of a pretty stupid bike.

  5. I read that as if the bike is sentient. Don’t be so rude, your bike is trying their best 🙁

Safe bike commuting requires you be highly visible to drivers.. but you’ve made your top top invisible

  7. It is only stupid if you think it is.

My personal judgement for me on my own stupid bike scale is 2 questions: 1st Does it not meet your use case? yes means you can aways trade up and switch bikes and leads to the 2nd questions “ Is this the only bike I currently have ?” If yes then it’s not stupid as you are using what you have. If it’s no you own a better bike for your purposes then yes , why not take that one. Fun is a perfectly valid reason to take the more challenging bike that is not suited for the purposes.

  8. If it’s your bike, it’s cool!

Surlys seen to be a magnet for bike nerds making cool bespoke builds out of. I’m running a Disc Trucker with a 3×10 deore group set and Jones H-bars because it’s fun!
