Bike: 2022 Canyon Endurace CF 7 Etap
So the rubber where the seat post goes in has cracked and a chip has fallen away, is this just a seal or something more?
Can I just put a bit of bule tak on it for now?
I have logged a ticket with Canyon but and not sure how long they will take to get back to me.

Yes
The same part is already starting to show decay on my 2025 endurace. Please let me know when you find out!
No, it’s part of the whole sleeve that goes into your frame.
They advise on getting it replaced otherwise you lose your frame warranty (in my case).
Wasn’t part of the warranty as they will say you didn’t remove and regrease your post every 6 months.
I had the same on my bike. It’s part of the proprietary seatpost insert which is glued into the tube. You are most certainly safe to ride it since it’s just the “top cap”. Canyon sent me the part after a lot of back and forth and I took it to an LBS who almost lost their sanity replacing it
Mine was covered under warranty but you will need to take it in for service as it is not user replaceable, according to them. I have not taken it in yet, maybe in the winter??? I need my bike and I can imagine taking the ASP 1 wk or longer to service… assuming they won’t cause additional problems.
It was considered a consumable part for mine and not under warranty. Canyon recommended a service centre who did the replacement. Went pretty well and fixed some minor creaking that occurred beforehand.
The equivalent part on my 2022 Ultimate cracked horizontally but hadn’t yet started chipping away. Raised a warranty case with Canyon and they replaced the entire frame.
A piece of plastic/rubber like that shouldn’t perish within 3 years irrespective of how often or not you removed your seat post. I’m relatively confident it should be covered under warranty.
