Definitely the most beautiful beach in île de Porquerolles Highly recommend renting bike as the walk can be a bit long its about 40 Minutes walk, bike is about 15 minutes drive. This day by bike was one of the nicest and most fun,
heading out from Porquerolles harbour / village center. Whilst the beach you pass on the way is pleasant, it’s worth the extra walk or drive to Plage de Notre Dame. The beach is a mixture of stony and sandy but only 2 meters into the sea you’re on a sand bank that reaches out into the water for a good 50 meters. It’s ideal for people who want to wade in the water / splash around to cool off. One guy did come around selling ice-cream, beer, water etc at one point but for the rest of the day there was nothing to buy so pack a picnic and take a couple of litres of water. The flow of visitors definitely reverses around 3pm as day trippers head back to catch their boats so it’s worth waiting if you can and going after lunch (the sun is hottest around 3pm-5pm there anyhow in the summer! oh…
