Hello, everyone! And welcome to 
one of the most beautiful and serene countryside stays in Provence, 
the Capelongue hotel, near Bonnieux. Today I will take you to an early Autumn day 
exploring the hotel and the beautiful towns of Bonnieux and Lourmarin, a personal favourite 
of mine in the whole of the Luberon area. I started the day with an early morning swim, when everything that you could hear was 
the gentle blowing of the wind through the leaves and the chirping of the early birds 
warming up in the first rays of sunshine. After getting ready for the day, I went for 
breakfast on the terrace of the restaurant La Bergerie, and sat on one of the front 
tables with direct views to the rooftops and the church tower of Bonnieux, just as the 
sun started casting its light over the town. I absolutely love the atmosphere in Provence 
after the Summer – the weather is usually nice and sunny, not hot but not chilly either, and 
the rhythm of the local life is just nice and smooth. So for my morning, I went walking 
towards Bonnieux, which is less than 10 minutes away from Capelongue, and spent a couple 
of hours roaming aimlessly through the village. Bonnieux is located on a hilltop on 
the south side of the Luberon valley, with views to Lacoste just across from 
it, and the pinewoods, vineyards and the lavender fields, already harvested 
at this time of the year, down below. Bonnieux is a small town, and very quiet during 
this time of the year. But there are some gems worth discovering, such as this small antiques 
store in Rue Voltaire, which seems more like the old storage floor of a local, with so many 
beautiful old furniture pieces and decorations. After exploring Bonnieux, and as lunch 
time approached, we went to Lourmarin, not too far away, and for me one of 
the most beautiful towns in Provence. Lourmarin is a more lively town, with 
many beautiful stores and restaurants, and there’s always a pulsating energy on its 
streets, especially around lunch and dinner times. Before going for lunch, we took a short walk 
around, and I took the chance to visit Franc.1884, a must stop when in Lourmarin, 
to buy some lavender spindles, which always make a great gift 
for family and friends back home. I then went for lunch at the Bacheto restaurant, 
in a shaded and almost hidden courtyard of Hotel Le Moulin, a sister hotel of the Capelongue. I 
had already eaten here a couple of years ago, and it seemed like nothing has changed since 
– the very Provençal food was still delicious, the sound of the children on the school 
playground as a perfect and lively background to the whole meal, and the beautiful sunlight 
penetrating through the canopies of the trees. After lunch, we went for another walk around town, 
just to enjoy some more of the picturesque corners of this beautiful village, before heading back 
to a relaxation afternoon at the Capelongue. Once I got to the hotel, I had a facial massage 
appointment at the Spa, and while there, I will leave you with a few clips from my bedroom, 
in a very countryside style, with an earthy-toned colour palette and many textures throughout the 
flooring, the furniture, and the fabrics used. After the massage, I sat on the 
private terrace of my bedroom, looking over to the Bergerie building, while 
enjoying a book under the soft Autumnal sun. One thing I haven’t yet shared with you on this 
Channel is that I have a clothing brand that I created almost 10 years ago, where I design high

down towards the hills on the west, I got ready for the evening and went 
first on a short walk around the property. The hotel Capelongue is divided in two 
parts, and on the older part, where I am now, you have a few bedrooms on the main building as 
well as the restaurant La Bastide and the bar. Beyond the charming courtyard, there is a second 
swimming pool, with views straight over Bonnieux. We decided to sit for a late afternoon cocktail 
at the bar before going for dinner at La Bergerie, with these beautiful views of 
the cypress trees and the small fountain running, as the last rays 
of sunlight flooded the courtyard. And to end the day in a full-cycle 
fashion, we sat again on the terrace of La Bergerie overlooking the golden landscape 
as the sun set behind the Luberon massif. We had another delicious and warm meal, in a most 
beautiful atmosphere. The evening flowed easily, a perfect way to say goodbye to a 
memorable Autumn day in Provence. Thank you for coming with me
