We’re Dean & Nala, and we’ve been best friends since December 2018. I was cycling around the world when I heard Nala meowing out for me somewhere in the Bosnian mountains. With no intentions of keeping Nala, I knew i had to save the wee kitten and take her to the vet – but I was well aware of the fact that it might be a bit of a challenge considering I only had a bike. However, despite my concerns, Nala quickly climbed out of the front bag on the bike handle and straight onto my shoulder. Since then, we’ve been travelling the world together. So feel free to tag along if you’re interested in following our journey and adventures around the globe ❤️

[Music] What’s happening, guys? I hope we’re all good out there and welcome back to another video. So, we have just checked out the hotel. No idea what town we stayed in, but we are now joining back up the psychopath. Hello. What noise was that? White dog there. Hello. Hello. Oh, hello there. We are now joining onto the psychop path and we are heading down to Basil. It does take about 3 days cycling. So, the weather today, we bit clouds in the sky. It’s nice and cool, a wee bit of a breeze. Perfect for cycling and it’s perfect for Nala as well. Who’s now looking up at the trees wondering what that noise was girl? Anyway, let’s crack on. He didn’t like it when I bumped there. Quite right as well. And we go left here. Got a hotel last night cuz in the last video when we rescued that weed deer, I went in the canal and when you’re cycling along the canal, they’re actually pretty filthy. So, I wanted to get in and get a shower and just get clean. Same t-shirt though. Sometimes I use a retedy just put it in front of her and acts as a pillow for her. There we go. And we go down this way. So this is the V 52 cycle path. Got we river down there. But just around this corner it joins onto the canal. And there we go. Joined onto the side of the canal. It’s a perfect cycle route because it’s mostly flat all the way. We have got one big climb coming up, but I do believe it’s cuz the canal goes through the mountain. Looks to be like a buzzard just sitting over there looking down at the ground. Go to the south. See so much wildlife. You just wish I could bring my camera. That was the one good thing with Nessie. You had so much room to carry lenses and cameras. Look at that house. Mini castle. But I much prefer cycling. You see more of the world, you meet more people. And I mean, even look at yesterday, we wouldn’t have seen that we here if we were driving. So I feel when you’re in a car, that one catch you surprise. Yeah. I feel when you’re driving, you just miss so much. I still get so many people in our messages saying go back and get Nessie. They prefer Nessie. We’re safer in Nessie. We’re not actually safer in Nessie because when we’re like this, we can easily find places to hide. Nessie stands out like a sore thumb. And the amount of times we’re getting people coming knocking on the window at like the middle of the night for a picture and this got robbed. So much prefer being on the bike. Beautiful old bridges. Oh, no. No. Don’t go that way. Okay. Go that way. See? See what you done. You made it hard for him. Now, I wanted out for the toilet was stopped at this time. But look at the sign. Whoever done it has put on upside down. Talk about only having one job to do. I know the biggest fan are going in the old grass because there’ll just be so many fleas in that. I just heard something though. Yep. There we go. Way to the toilet. So actually she never went so she never went in the hotel this morning and then when we were just cycling she was a we bit restless which means she needs a toilet. So just pull over find her a nice bit and she’ll go and then we will start cycling soon as she’s finished. So see you back on the bike. P complete. Let’s continue. Is that better? We town center. If there’s a we cafe or bakers where we could grab some lunch. Yes. Stopped in at this we bakers for lunch just there. Got myself a we kiche with onion in it. Now I was just over here having a we sniff. Probably hear stuff in the bushes. But after this we’ve got a wee hill to climb and then we’re down by the canal again. So, just giving Nala a we walk about and then we’ll get back on the bike. Get away. I’m going to zip that up just now cuz there’s quite a lot of wasps. Get down here. Get away. Right. Nice me spot to stop for lunch. Oh, and we’re away again. I know. I know. I’ll just close you up cuz there was wasps. Mind that time you got stung by a bee? She got stung by a bee when we were in Hungary. And honestly, it must have took about two weeks to get her to come back outside the house again and walk about the garden. That’s the last thing we want is you to get stung and then get scared of your basket. See the horses? We’re going right here. Right turn. Hold on. beautifully. That’s what we did. Another beautiful day. You can feel it getting a wee bit hotter, but what this is just now is absolutely perfect temperature. So, it must be about 22°. It’s just nice for cycling. A nice we breeze. Nala’s happy. I’m happy. Okay, man. Lunchtime for Nala. That’s the leaves in the trees starting to go brown. Fall is just around the corner. Camel Is that a big metal flower? Love artwork like that. Nice lake. Got we cliff just there and then a dried up canal by every single gate. Got a nice we house. Look at that one. That’s beautiful. It’s totally dried out this canal though. Hello. Go this way. Got the camera out a wee bit late there. That’s a nice bridge. Go around here. Lovely. So, just pulled over for a wee break and because the lad who’s designing our logos, he messaged in the next round of drawings and I’m just had a we flick through them and I absolutely love them. Uh, there’s one of them, there’s two of them actually I really like. So, going to give me a sore head the next few days choosing between the two. But another thing I can’t wait to show you guys Eva um our new logo for our charity that we’re setting up. Let me just show you where we are. A we boat there just going through the canal. Nala see sometimes she lies down and she doesn’t look comfy. That to me doesn’t look comfy. But if she’s in a house in a big space you sometimes find her sleeping like that as well. Nice and warm getting the sun on her back. Got the Broly up for her now. It’s getting warmer. What a beautiful day it is. But I cannot wait to share this logo with you guys and see what you all think. Anyway, exciting times. But it is now, what’s time?4 to 4. So, let’s continue cycling. It’s perfect. Oh, there’s a we castle up there. It’s right up beside that mountain, though, so I’m not going to go up. It would have been perfect to have the drone which we’re also getting this weekend. We’re picking that up in Basil. That’s where it’s getting dropped off about. We’re all packed up. Yep. Let’s go. So, we’ll keep it as smooth as possible for Nala Welsh to sleep in my pedal. It squeaks one way, but then when you turn it around, it doesn’t squeak the other. It’s been welloiled. So, when we’re in Basil, going to find a mechanic to have a we peek at. Anyway, look at the castle up there right on top of the hill. Loads of boats parked here. Enjoy. Okay. Stopped in this bridge for a we break. Run 34 miles so far. Beautiful we area. Now that is sound asleep. I got her bed out. I was just going to give that a we clean. See if I can get rid of the fur in between it. now cold. But I just going to have a we break, stretch your legs a we bit and my ars is a we bit sore as well. So I think we’re going to do about another 20 mi tonight. It’s around about 6:00 now. So I will be cycling till about 8 and then we’ll stop up, find somewhere nice. I kind of want to get through Strasburg tonight as well. That’s the next city we’re coming up to, but I would rather get through there and find a place to camp. That’s the aim for tonight. So, it’s 7:00 and I’ve just spotted a beautiful sunflower field just over here. Um, I really want the front cover of the calendar this year to be a nice sunflower photo. So, I’m thinking about trying to get there. I think there’s a we burn down here, but I’m going to go and lift the bike through it and get there. Oh, just wait for that farmer. They want to go down and then have to back up again. It’s quite an easy place to pass. Minus going through the long grass. It’s against my beliefs. Hey, got a better jump here. Step. Yep. Get my finger off the brakes. Lovely. Lovely. I’m just pushing through. Lovely. It’s perfect lighting as well. And 7:00 Nala wakes up about this time. Just a we spider. Right, let’s head to the sunflower field. She’ll probably wake up anyway with the bumps. Did we get a picture? I’m not too sure. Especially with the sun behind us. It would have been better getting it in the morning. Oh, got stung quite a few times on my legs, though. But we did get a few nice ones. And not sure if we’re going to be the front cover. So, you might see a sunflower one. And there’s one of the pictures. Ah, been stumped so many times. Now, to evacuate this field before the farmer sees us. There’s plenty of sunflower fields. We’ve seen loads, but this was just the easiest one to get to so far. Every time we’ve seen them, they’ve been across the other side of the river. So, if we come across another one, we’ll try again. It didn’t help I didn’t have a tripod for my phone, so I was reaching out as far as I could to see if I could get the picture. But anyway, I think what we’re going to do is get out. It’s half 7 now. I might just find a place to camp. I was wanting to do another 20 miles, but Oh, sorry. Oh, next one. Hold on. We’re going for it. Whoa. Come on. Push. Push. Push. Push. Push. Push. Made it. There was a we bit back here we picnic area. We might just go and camp there. So here we are. Don’t think we’re going to camp here over the night. We just stopped to let Nala out. It’s like a old boat turned into a we picnic area. Got barbecue there. Hello. Yeah. She’s got her food up here. She’s not found it yet though. What’s in here? That’s pretty cool. I mean, that would make a good we bit to sleep just there or back there. So much to sniff. She started meowing before cuz she wants to get up on the roof. A yeah, you can look up there all you want. You’re not getting up. So, stopped at this boat. We’re thinking about spending a night here. I was having a look through the sunflower photos and they’re not that good. But there’s another field about 5 mi down there and it’s actually on the map a sunflower field. So got a feeling that may be better anyway. And also in the morning the sun will rise from there. We had the sun behind us in that photo. So it wasn’t really picking up the colors that well. It could be so much better. I’ve been bit so many times on my legs. Anyway, I was taking Nala a we walk and she’s been distracted. There’s probably a mouse in the long grass, but she’s just sitting down there. Her we tails wiggling away. So, just going to let her chill here for a bit. And then we’re going to cycle 5 miles and just find a place to camp there and then hopefully wake up in the morning. Beautiful sunflower field. Get a gorgeous photo. Oh, she’s moved. Hope she doesn’t miss time. We jump and then just land in the canal. Two nights in a row going in. But yeah, um so we’ll probably give you an update when we’re along there, if we ever get along there tonight. So, see you soon. There is not a single sunflower in this field, but there is a tractor there just plowing the field. So maybe they picked them the other week and we’ve missed it. But I’ve actually got another idea with the pictures I’ve just took. Uh the artist who’s drew we do artwork at the back of the calendar. Um I’m going to speak to her and see if she can do something. In my head, I think it might look quite cool, but I need to go and check if I’ve got a good picture first. But anyway, there’s a wee hotel just down here. We’re going to go and see if they’ve got a room for the night because we’ve left it quite late and it’s now 9. Mars is killing. It’s quite cool as well the night. It’s nice. It’s getting cooler nights again. Gives you a chance to cool down. Not feeling as clammy anywhere. Right guys, checked into the hotel. Just give you a quick tour. This is our bathroom, shower room. And this is our bed. Nice big double bed. Came in, lay down on it, and it is probably the most comfiest mattress I’ve ever lay on. It’s just so soft. But blood all over the bed. I’ve got a big cut on my leg. Nala jumped in the cut. And there’s paw prints all over the bed. Nala is up here. Just having her dinner on a we midnight snack. She’s got water there as well. Bye.
