I ride from Knysna to Plettenberg Bay, for my last stage without motor.
The Graden Route is becoming very busy for me, as so many people recognize me on the road, here in the Western Cape, in South Africa. As I exit Knysna, I have to ride slowly across a township, and I find a lot of very friendly people. Later on, someone stops me to give me money.
After a cold lunch stop, I finally arrive in Plettenberg Bay, and I immediately go to “The Bike Shop”, a shop were I will be able to get my motor replaced.

Incredible! Bigger than my hand. Insane. Does it smell something? No. Someβ€”not fully open. Beautiful. Another oneβ€”very open.
Incredible! Look at this one. …very much! – Pleasure. – Hake
and chips, guys. Classical South African. That’s the salad. Good. The chips are really good, actually. Very crispy.
It’s really nice. Real potatoes. Let’s go for some hake.
Let’s see how the hake is here. It’s good. I love fish. Perfect. It’s warm
despite the cold outside. Perfect. – Are you good, man? – Hm? All good, yeah. You’ll never go wrong
in South Africa with a good hake. Hake and chips never go wrong. I’m cold. Very good! Awesome. I was a bit optimistic
about eating outside. Really good. Typical South African. Perfect to get me through the last 10 km. Hopla. – 162. – Yes. Can I pay
by card? – No problem. Thank you! It’s all good?
– All good. Thank you! – Thank you very much! Yeah. Let’s get going for the last 10 km to the repair, to get my tricycle
repaired, hopefully. Oh, yes! It’s cold. Let’s go! 10 km left, almost zero climbing.
So flat and downhill. Let’s go to Plett and to the bike shop
where, hopefully, I can get a new motor. Well, hopefully… Where, hopefully,
the new motor, the DU-E7000. I have the 6100 at the moment. So hopefully, they will be able
to install my new motor, the new motor, on the trike. And hopefully, I’ll be able to ride
across Africa again with a new motor. Let’s go, guys! Ah, putain! Forest Gate. And when you think the afternoon
is gonna be easy, there is headwind now. Oh, man! Hello! – Enjoying it? – Yes, I’m enjoying it. Yeah. – I’m glad. I’ve been watching

then you wanna go around. It’s gonna be easier for you
to get the bicycle inside. – Ah, okay! Because I need to see someone there. – Yes. – So there is a way around? – Yes,

  1. I really love how psyched everybody is to see you; it’s amazing! And it’s cute how they all really want to have a little chat with you, or show you a video of yourself eating biltong.

  2. Can't wait when you live SA. these videos are becoming meet and greet with fans. I just want to see Yves eating alone on the road side, not fans taking selfies.

  3. Man, you are becoming such a celebrity, the frequent stops by fans are slowing you down. πŸ™‚ Time to hide behind sunglasses and a hoodie like Hollywood actors. πŸ˜‰

  4. Kino Yves has portrayed Africa in a very positive way through his journey. He deserves recognition from the countries he has passed through, as he has helped promote Africa as a safe and welcoming place.

  5. Ask everyone who travel to South Africa they will tell you it's a beautiful and friendliest country. I have seen a lot of them, especially Kenyans, they always give good commentary. ❀
