I am about to share with you a cruise tip 99% of people do not know according to longtime Royal Caribbean captain Rob Hemstead if you do not book a Shore Excursion with the cruise line and happen to be running late getting back to the ship they may still wait for you if you know what to do so listen closely cruise ships often have a little buffer time built into when they have to depart Captain Rob said that if you call the port agent and let them know the situation and when you expect to be at Port the cruise ship will will wait for you if they have enough buffer time most Cruisers do not know this they also do not know how to contact the port agent the port agent is different for every Port Port agent information is always listed on the cruise newsletter so take a copy with you when you go to port or screenshot it from the cruise lines app and now you know

Just don't!
i did not know this
I thought the whole point of the video is to give you this suggestion if you’re running late and you did NOT book through the cruise? That’s why he said it might wait for you if you inform the port agent. Because it’s a given the cruise will wait if you booked through the cruise.
Thanks for guidance. Interested in your opinion on additional tipping for our children 5 and 7 years old while traveling with parents.
Powerful advice…..
Yes because most people left their brain and logic when go vacation
@emmacruises
The only problem is that in booking through the cruise line, you’ll pay a bunch more for excursions.
The port agent info is always in ur daily planner & on the apps
Total Bs this absolutely never and will not work
This tip will likely get more people left behind. People will test the limits.
Umm they advertise this. It'a the pro of booking with the cruise line lol
Wow 😮😮😮
Why risk booking a third party excursion instead of through the cruise line? That's too much of a gamble right there.
If my mom told me to be home by 5 for dinner, I better be there by 4:54 or I was considered late. Maybe parents need to teach children how to be punctual so when they become adults and it’s crucial to be on time, they won’t struggle with it.
Or just book excursion before..
Does anyone know if you can use those toilet gel products that stick to the inside of the toilet bowl on cruise ships? The odor from the bowl smells despite flushing and using poopuri spray. I'm taking about the system itself. Thanks.
Problem is not required… if you go on one of theirs then it is a definite!
Here is something I didn’t know for a very long time. If you do not return the ship, they will go into your state room and find your passport and give it to the port agent.
yes, there is the cruiseship phone number on the keycard and you can call it, or the port yes… but rather try to be on time
Ships pay for port and have a slot to get in and out of port.
Don't expect any captain to miss his slot.
Maybe they changed it but 20y ago if you work for Royal C. and you miss the ship… let's say you would also be missing your job.
The ships are scheduled out to leave at certain times. What comes in factors are the tides and how much fuel it’s going to cost to get to the next port at what speed. Also they might have a pilot come onto the ship to help navigate out which is scheduled in..
Prevention is better than cure. So get back early.
