Today I performed some maintenance on my TRP disc brake (HD-EU818):
Shortened the hydraulic line
Bleed the brakes
Changed the brake pads → Shimano K05S-RX Resin
The work went smoothly so far. Bleeding the TRP was easier than expected, and the Shimano pads fitted perfectly right away.
Afterwards, I went for a test ride in the Schönholzer Heide in bright sunshine ☀️. The goal was to break in the new pads. I also noticed again how wild and natural 🌿 the park right outside my front door actually is – perfect conditions for a short test ride 🚴.
I also tested the new H&H DT shock absorber with TPU suspension and titanium alloy spring (for Brompton P-Line / T-Line / C-Line, 12-speed). Result: Significantly more comfort, more stable handling, and less vibration – a noticeable improvement, especially on bumpy surfacbrompton Fotoses.
Initial conclusion:
TRP HD-EU818 + Shimano K05S-RX: crisp pressure point, clean response
H&H DT shock absorber: noticeable increase in comfort and stability
Overall, a clearly improved ride on changing terrain
