It’s just before 12:45 and we’re watching the weather spectacle. It’s pretty loud. Well, we can’t see you. It’s completely dark. *mumbles* But we can see the lightning and everything. Well, let’s see how safe we are here. Yes, let’s go. I have to climb up first. Help! Let’s go. Well, I can’t get there that quickly. Oh shit, I have to hurry now. Wow, this is such an amazing landscape. Wow, can’t you look around! Too bad. I have to wait. Thanks. Hello, where are you? Here, beautiful scenery. Okay, a bit worn down, but the mountains are first class. And then here on the other side: a nuclear power plant. That’s not the sound of the river, but of the cooling towers. Crazy. They just took a close look at us. It’s a huge thing. Four cooling towers. Here you can see it again. Huge facility. We’ve now cycled completely around it. So, the cycle path goes this way. Ah yes. Here is one amazing city after another. I am so delighted. With castles and stone houses. It looks so beautiful. Now we’re going over a suspension bridge. The Himalayan suspension bridge. Awesome. Wow! It’s wobbly! Watch out, there’s a poop here. A dog must have pooped there out of fear. I can’t handle it. It’s so incredibly beautiful here. I can’t handle it at all. So emotional inside right now. It’s only 72 km to Avignon. Theoretically, we could make it, but we probably won’t make it through, and yeah. Oh, now the beauty is obscured. But whatever, I’ll turn it around anyway. So beautiful here. Look, it’s just incredibly beautiful. Still driving along the Rhône. Oh, I don’t know, I’m probably hard to see. We found a place to camp at night. We had Ulli* with us. If you’re looking at this, best wishes. Anyway, we’ve already set everything up, but there’s a severe weather warning for the night with very heavy rain, flooding, and so on, and we’re stuck between all these rivers and tributaries, and so we said, well, I had terrible concerns and a bad feeling , so I said I’d rather pack up. I just don’t feel well. Steffen tried to calm me down. Yeah, it’s not that bad and all. And then the warnings kept coming online, and I said, no, I’m afraid we’ll swim away, because, like I said, we were right next to a canal, and on the other side was the Rhone, and Ulli*, I hope you made it and stayed relatively dry and didn’t swim away. Well, we’ll keep going for now and see if we can find shelter or something where we can get the 31 mm that’s forecast. Good, good. Nothing going on. The headlamp is already activated. It’ll come on right away. Well, that’s how it is. Theoretically, if it weren’t raining, we could absolutely blast all the way to Avignon. It’s only 40 km away, but we won’t make it before midnight when the crowds are forecast. Well, we’ll see what we can find; we’ll find a solution somehow. We’ve now driven into the town here, which is actually really nice, and are looking for somewhere to shelter. We’ve already driven to the church. If in doubt, there’s a bus stop outside, which we’ll take. Here’s the church. Let’s see what it can do. And all this to escape the rain. Just to show you, this is the kind of rain we can expect tonight. 34 mm! And this giant beam here is 31 mm, and it starts at one o’clock and then it carries on like this. Well, that’s how it looks, Klaus. And what do you say? Yes, bikes fit in there, and we can sit down here, lie down. We’ll probably spend the night in this little hut. *Mumbling* That no one has shit in there. It does look a little disgusting. Ah, it does look a little filthy. Then I’d rather have the other cone. Yes, I’d rather have the other cone. I mean, if they close those gates there, they’ll have to go there with the crane and put those gates in there. Aren’t there any gates that they just close? So, you’ll definitely notice that. If they barricade themselves. Are we taking another route back? We’ll just drive around the city. Okay. The other one definitely looked good. We’ve got plenty of space there. Can we pick up other cyclists? For a final price. Let’s go. Adventure. So, you probably won’t see me, but we’ve moved into the bus shelter now. Here’s the city again, including the entrance. And over there is our little bus shelter. We’ll cook something there soon. We have a terrible prison, and we can even watch TV with commercials here. Over there is a small mini-gas station. Really cute. It looks so old-fashioned. But yeah, it’s already starting to flash. So, we’ll get going soon enough. Here’s the little bus shelter. Reasonably protected. Yes, it looks good, even if you can’t see anything on the camera right now, but at least not much. We’ll spend the night here, unless something nasty happens. So, we’ve cooked ourselves pasta and are eating it in peace. It’s just before 12:45, and we’re watching the weather spectacle. It’s pretty loud. You can’t see us. It’s completely dark, but you can see the lightning and everything. Well, we’ll see how safe we are here. But it’s okay. I feel pretty good here in our little house. So, it’s just after 2:00 now. We’re still sitting in our little house. Sometimes the rain eases off a bit, then it starts again. Ulli is coming to visit us now. He’s left his sleeping place. Thank goodness. I was really worried. I kept thinking, What’s happened? It’s dark here. We survived the night in our little hut. Ulli came back soaked, the poor guy, but the three of us made ourselves comfortable in the hut and then at some point around 5:00 or so we put our feet up for a bit and slept, and yes, now it’s 9:00. We’re driving on to Avignon. It still looks very dark. And as we left the small town where we’d spent the night, there were so many branches falling on the bike path, fallen trees, and so on. So, it was actually a good thing that we broke up camp and drove into town. And now we’ve saved a little crab. A good deed already accomplished today. We’ve arrived in Avignon. It’s over there. Isn’t it beautiful? We look like shit, and well, we’d have stayed up all night and smelled like it too. We probably smell like it too. Exactly. And now it’s time for breakfast. Behind us, it looks like a power line, a cable, came down from a tree. They’re trying to repair it all. It’s down there too. So, it wasn’t an easy night. Luckily, nothing happened to us. And now it’s time for breakfast. And somewhere in the city, we have our little accommodation and are resting a bit and editing the next video. Don’t promise too much. Yeah, there’s no guarantee that it will come out. We’re standing in front of the Papal Palace, which was built sometime in the 14th century. Popes and bishops used to meet here, and we might want to take a look. Unfortunately, I can’t say much because I haven’t done much research on it. Let’s see.
