Oslo has transformed beyond recognition over the past decade. Wealth and development arrived quickly, but identity doesn’t grow at the same pace as glass towers and bike lanes. For years, the city seemed unsure of itself, caught between Nordic modesty and global ambition. But slowly, something new has been taking shape.
This film follows a week when Oslo’s cycling community stepped forward and declared, unmistakably, where the city’s future lies.
Oslo Cycling Week, first launched in 2024, came into full force in 2025 with 29+ events: group rides on every surface, workshops, talks, lectures, and even a bikepacking overnighter into the deep forests beyond the city. What began as a grassroots idea has grown into a cultural milestone.
This is the story of Oslo Cycling Week and how it revealed a city in transition, on its way to finding a new identity.
