Hey folks, I live in Canada and want to get a new road bike before the end of the season (in the 2000-2500$ range). I intend to do an Ironman on it (want to get a decent road bike for polyvalence before investing in a tri bike), so I will add clip-on aero bars on the bike and probably a good pair of tire.
There were 2 contenders that seemed afforable, while still offering great components and quality:
– The Polygon Strattos S7D (carbon frame equipped with Shimano 105) – 2500$
– The Spherik SRD (lesser known Canadian brand, carbon frame equipped with SRAM Rival 22) – 2145$
So I add a couple questions:

Do these bikes seem good? I would feel "safer" buying the Polygon as it's a better known brand, but otherwise I don't know if the higher price point is worth it.

Should I wait until October or November for better end-season deals? I'm not in a rush to buy the bike.

Are there nicer bikes you know I should be on the look out four?
