Ever wondered how a pump-action shotgun actually works?
This in-depth 3D animation covers the internal operation of all moving parts during the firing sequence of Mossberg 500 and 590 pump-action shotguns.
This video is the result of a months-long project involving Mossberg engineers and renowned 3D animation artist Matt Rittman. @mattrittman

I earned all platinum trophies in Spyro reignited trilogy before 2024 I’ve 100 percented all 3 games
Amazing engineering, such skilful design.
Hello, if I wanted to put a Mossberg 500 stock and foregrip on my 590 5 shot thunder ranch would that fit?
Thanks lot greeting from Canada
absolutely fascinating
Extraordinary video! Thank you. 👍
I'm going to need to study this many times. I want to know my gun before I buy it. This video is outstanding.
Did you do it with for the Mossberg shockwave and the Maverick 88 if you do a collaboration again, please
Video is A+, the music is B+, but this is my option only👌🏼
Nice
👍 Excellent video. I own a 590 retrograde 18.5 12 gauge and it is outstanding!
590 has two extractors
People: "Shotguns are simple engineering."
Me: Is this magic?
My new 590 mariner trigger is the worst
Awesome video. Great collab!
i remember now of a stupid guy who said in another video comments "yeah i won't take such shotgun just because they are popular , yeah i prefer a different shotgun" what's wrong getting what's popular , or simply what they propose you instead of being biased and preferring a different gun ? as long you have a good weapon that work well, nothing dramatic, it cannot be as worse as getting new shoes. crazy how people who want other choices have that same arrogance.
Fantastic.
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Just don't drop them and try to rack the next round or it MIGHT jam………
It's just a joke bro-

Great video!
in my opinion, this is the most successful shotgun system. there are a lot of reasons, i won't explain. i bought myself an m500 with a short barrel. a large batch of these ores was imported to russia in the 1990s
Shotgun guns for dummies 😊
i have one ! ( the cheap one , 88 )
Dual Extractors and Shell Stops.
The skeletonized lifter is a thing of beauty if you load and shoot any other shotgun. The competition seems so inelegant in comparison to
Matt Rittman does THE BEST illustrative 3D animations on the internet !!
Das beste werkzeug der welt !!!!!
Great animation! First class, just like the Mossberg 590 A1 really is. I have both, 590 and 500.
Amagazing ❤❤❤
I'm still confused on how the ejector works.
Can someone tell me what the 500 Persuader is? I have one that's in brand new condition still with the sticker on the stock and can't really find much information on it. What I did find is that it is the only shotgun to pass the military torture test. Mine seems like it's a shorter barrel, maybe 16"? I'm thinking it would be a great backpacking gun in the massive Idaho wildernesses if I can fit a holster to my pack.
Educational thankyou for the vid. Question…mav 88 same exact internals right?
You have great customer service that means a lot to me thank you!
🇦🇷🇦🇷👍👍👍
Beautiful
Has anodized aluminum alloy reciever
My preferred "go to sleep" vid
An excellent animation. I'm new to shotguns, and I had some idea of how a pump shotgun worked, but this showed every detail, beautifully.
I enjoy transparency from a company, both figurative and literal.
Traductor gracias…

I want to buy a Mossberg here in Belgium , problem is that there are not a lot of gunstores which sell mossbergs here.
Gunshop owners say that it is because Mossberg doesn’t provide enough weapons to them. I want to buy a 590a1 and I’m waiting for my permit for this gun (4 months in Belgium) and gunshop owners say that probably this year no Mossberg 590a1 or other types, maybe occasionally a maverick 88….
If this is really the case with mossberg then I don’t want it anymore. A shame because we see more and more people joining shootingclubs here and everyone, and I mean everyone, wants a pumpaction gun. But we can choose out of benelli , fabarm and Winchester as the common brands. Occasionally a gunshop sells Mossberg but don’t have any to show….
Matt rittman?
Ordered my 590A1 Retro last week! Can't wait.
Excellent graphic demonstration BTW.
I grew up in the age when a few diagrams in a manual were considered enough, they weren't. THIS is what I like. Thank you Mossberg for making the gun I bought from you actually easier to understand quickly. This video is great.
