A CUBE STEREO ONE22 C:62 SLX olvasható tesztje:
Hello! Hello everyone, I’m Ádám Kovács-Gombos and you are seeing the first bike review of our Bikeguide magazine. Our test subject is the Cube 122 with 130 mm at the front 120 at the back. You can read a detailed test about it in the magazine, we have already driven 3-400 km into the bike and what you see here is not entirely the stock build We changed a couple of things on it, which you can read in the article about why and how these changes work. Well, as riders we can decide what category 130-120 mm is considered to be If I want, this bike can be a downcountry bike, slightly above the cross-country bikes. If I want it, I’d rather look at it as a trail bike, that’s actually the direction we’ve taken it in, tailoring it slightly to our own taste And as I said, we have already ridden it for 3-400 kilometers, so now we have built up some experience, so I can rather say that this is more of a small suspension trail bike, which is more or less in the direction of the AM line. In terms of suspension, we see the usual four pivot point system for the Cube, the shock is vertical in the middle, the frame moves 120 mm at the back, the pivot points are here, here, here, and down here. That 120 mm is roughly enough for everything you’ll encounter in typical Hungarian conditions. Of course, it’s not an enduro flying carpet, but you can do everything with it on our home terrain. What I liked best about the bike was its weight. According to the website, 12.6 kg, when we took it out of the box and put it together, that was exactly what our scale showed, even though it is an L size, usually the manufacturers measure the smaller size, and so with the extra slightly added parts and tubeless conversion, it went even lower. And you can really feel this on the terrain, that the bike can be moved very easily. I had to be very careful in the beginning on the usual terrain to see how I was going with it, because you really, really pull it over the jumps, especially if you get used to a heavier bike before it. Then the other thing, which I really, really like, is that the frame has been well protected in all places, and here I can show you the other side with protection, because of this, the bike is quite quiet no matter what terrain we ride on it, there is no noise, only the sound of the tires can be heard. It’s also quite rare that the bike is so thoroughly protected, and even here, the lower part of the frame and half of the lower tube has a third thick rubber coating to protect it against stone impact. What I liked most about the bike, besides its weight, is how well thought out the entire bike was by the designers. We often come across bikes on which certain parts stick out very, very much from the target riding purpose. Pretty much everything was in place. You take it out of the box, put the pedal on it, adjust it, ride off with it and the bike knows perfectly what it was designed for. And because of its light weight, it can be rolled up anywhere really quickly, at high speed, with little effort. And due to the good geometry and the good dimensions, we are absolutely not behind the enduro riders on the other side of the mountain, who are riding in front of us with, say, a much bigger bike made for downhill riding. Basically, not very strong tires with thick sidewalls were put on the bike, but they fit the bike’s purpose perfectly. They handle the rocky terrain and grip fine in turns. We won’t go KOMs with them either on No Comment or on Hárs-hegy, but we can come down at a good enough pace and enjoy it a lot. And maybe this is the key to the whole bike, to enjoy riding it. You hop on, no need for knee pads or heavy gear, just your regular cycling kit, and you can hit the mountain. And if we’re going on a 100 km tour that day, this bike will be our perfect companion. If you prefer to grind on the mountain, or just go around with the others on the ropeway or on the cable car course, it will handle that too. And of course we can expand it in all kinds of directions, it will handle much better with bigger tires or bigger brake discs, but you don’t have to, because this bike is designed exactly as a local all-rounder bike. Another big plus for me: it easily fits an 800 milliliter water bottle fits into the frame without any issues, and can be easily removed while on the go. Although we don’t have the option of holding a second water bottle, the 800 milliliter can last quite a long time. What is this bike really for? I’ll go into detail in the article. But let me just say—it works for this, and this, and this, and this too. And we would like to thank VeloBike Kft., the Hungarian distributor of this bike, for their trust in advance, because the bike was made available to us for the future body even before the launch of our Bikeguide magazine. We are very grateful to them! And make sure you follow our YouTube channel, our Facebook and Instagram pages, where we’ll bring you updates, reviews tests, and other reports. Bye!
