Hello and uh welcome to my uh first video of uh climbs and coffee. This is uh something I’ve been brewing for quite a few weeks. As some of you have seen maybe from my video in uh Vietnam, I really like coffee. I will show you some of the best uh coffee spots in my neighborhood. And uh in order to deserve that uh coffee stop, I also uh take you through some of the great climbs that we have here in Denmark. Uh many people say that uh Denmark is a fairly flat country. That’s also partly true, but uh we actually do have some uh pretty tough climbs. Keep uh watching and I will show you some uh amazing climbs that we have here in Denmark and uh you’ll find a coffee stop on the along the way. [Music] It’s really beautiful this area just outside of Horson. It’s like 5 km outside and still get your max pulls up. [Music] [Music] So, here we are at the second uh smaller climb. This one leads up to a church called Trantop. Uh just going through bit of a forest here with a 10% climb and uh or now I should say 13 14. And if you don’t know the area, you could uh easily think it’s uh it’s all done. It keeps increasing just around this corner up to the church. I need to practice more climbing. This is ridiculous. [Music] Can’t believe what I set myself for making this uh series of videos for my science and coffee. Maybe I should uh reconsider the naming out of bread and uh coffee. approaching the the church called Panrop and the views from here. It’s just really stunning. [Music] [Music] Okay, so the last two climbs are pretty much just appetizers for what is uh coming today. Uh what’s waiting us today. Today uh I plan that we should uh take on uh the highest point in Denmark called B or Go. Uh so we take the road towards uh city smaller city called and uh from there we will have the the most iconic climb up to uh high bound uh said that’s the highest point in Denmark. It’s ridiculously low compared to other taxes underneath that height. Maybe it’s uh 1505 m. Uh but uh yeah, the time itself lights up at the view from uh just uh it’s done. bit can actually climb from uh six different uh ropes on there of the opportunity to do like a round loop but uh yeah they only had one route today one maybe on the way back we could do like a second one but uh let’s see now we are approaching uh the outskirt of a smaller mini town called Lun And then uh we will head towards out in the open fields again. Actually, I thought I just saw a snake on the side path if I’m not mistaken. Like a tiny baby snake. Whoa. Look at that beauty. This is one of my favorite areas to ride in. Just like 5 10 kilome kilometers outside of horse. Another great climb in this area is uh if you head left here towards N uh I think there’s like two 3 km nice climb up through the forest. Uh that we’ll have to do and uh we’ll do that in a different day. Today we are just heading uh further straight ahead towards we had uh hit a few minor hills at times uh before we uh reach this bit. And you can, as you can see, we are definitely out on the countryside, the local farmers. This is a really used area for a lot of cyclist. As you can see, it’s such a nice day to be out on your bike, late summer here at a Saturday in September and we I guess we’re around roughly 20° nice sunshine. So really, what’s not to like? This is uh yeah, it’s best out on the open roads, nice weather, sunshine. We just love it out here. I’m uh primarily doing these videos for inspiration for everybody else and uh just a way to have a bit of a creative fun while I’m out riding putting together some nice videos afterwards. But uh yeah, please uh like, subscribe, and uh feel free to comment. Also, if you have suggestions on uh places I should visit, what clims I should take out, I have already a long list, but uh any suggestions are modern cup. And if we continue towards uh by bound and see the scenic landscape here in Denmark. Look at this uh beautiful scenic landscape. And you can see in the distance that’s uh where we going. That’s a bono. See if I can zoom in. last 5 10 kilometers, every time I stopped, my Garmin uh popped up with a message saying if it if I should uh set up the DI2 D2i, can’t remember uh buttons on my uh on my bike. Uh then I just went off site or off the road to have a small Wii. And when I started again, uh my electronic shifters didn’t work at all. I never tried that before. That’s really really weird. Uh maybe luckily I think it might work again. I don’t know what happened. I just stopped the gin computer. Oh, I hope it’s working because I’m one kilometer away from the climb of today. Uh it would be really a shame to uh have to ride up in uh on the uh highest chain ring. Uh then I don’t think I would make it to be honest. It happened a few times again. Uh I just checked the the cables and uh I think it was the connection between the Dfly unit. Do you call it that? Uh where the cable was loose. Uh yeah, the gears are working again. That’s so nice. Let’s take out. Here we go. This is uh where it starts with a slow increase up to 5% there. [Music] If you’re interested in riding the same route as I’m sharing today, you can find a link in the description for my commute profile where I will share the this route and you can download the GPX file. [Music] Oh man, slowly getting out of breath. So yeah, and it’s not even the steepest part yet. This is around 8% right now. Save your power and energy to the next split. That’s where it kicks in and halfway up you have a false flat where you think like, okay, that’s it. but then kicks in again. It’s actually fairly quiet here today. It’s not much not many riders out. Would expect more riders here. This is where it kicks in. [Music] [Music] And then the kicks in again. [Music] Almost there. Come on. [Music] And that’s the top. At least on the segments. [Music] [Music] Hey Okay. Yeah. [Music] No horses with Okay, that was a bound and uh and I said it was the tallest point in Denmark. Now we’re heading uh towards uh Scannabore and I can see on the time that uh ah we have a an hour until close the coffee shop. Yeah. So I’ve done uh roughly 45 km and now we are approaching Scannabal. Plan is to stop at a small place that I’ve been recommended. It’s the it’s my first time there. It’s uh called the HM Bakery. H not to get confused with the toy brand. Um but yeah, called HM Bakery. And uh I’ve heard the coffee be great and so should the cakes. They close at 1. So uh we have a half an hour or so. Uh but there’s only we’re just like one one and a half kilometers away. [Music] [Music] Yeah. So, we reached the ATM bakery cafe and uh just had a espa and cinnamon swirl. You can see that they really busy here today. Uh there’s like a car boot sale on the street. It’s not something that is normal, but uh it’s really really cozy here and uh it’s a nice atmosphere. The cinnamon swirl I had uh that was really good. Really really soft bread, a lot of flavors and very greasy in a good way. So I would highly recommend if you come to Scannabal, come and visit the ATM bakery. Uh this paso here is also really great. Uh it’s not too strong. Uh has a good flavor and good size. And you also get a small glass of water which is really nice. They’re really busy here today. So, uh there’s a long queue in the bakery. Yeah, they have a lot of different uh cakes and I’m sure all of them are really great. So, come and visit them next time you’re in Scannabal. I can highly recommend. Okay. Uh that was a great coffee stop at the HM Bakery. Um, I hope I’m uh refueled now with some uh rocket fuel from that uh cinnamon swirl and the espresso. But now I’m heading south again uh back towards uh Horson, my hometown. And uh we had have at least one more climb uh here south of uh Scannabore coming up. Uh also fairly long and steep climb. So, uh yeah, let’s uh continue and uh keep watching. Yeah, forgot the name of this climb, but it uh kicks in from the beginning. [Music] And if remember correctly, it gets steeper, fed up. [Music] Just need to pace myself. [Music] Feel I’m on my limit here. Okay. Uh I think we should do a final climb up higher bound higher mountain. Uh this time it’s just from the opposite direction. So uh we are heading up higher mountain again. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] This is a officially considered the tallest point, highest point in Denmark. You have to have this monument at the top where you can get up and enjoy the view of the countryside. But this is officially the tallest point in Denmark. If you ask me what’s the best part of today’s ride, weather’s been great, climbs been tough, coffee been excellent. Uh, but the best part is probably uh the different encounters with the really nice people like the two guys on top of the mountain. uh really nice and friendly staff at the bakery in Scannabal. Uh I think that’s probably the best part of a ride like today, you know, meeting uh nice friendly people and uh having small chats with them. Today’s ride is uh coming to an end and I’m back uh in my hometown, Awesome. It’s been a great ride and uh if you take a bit look of uh at the sets of my Gin uh average speed, nothing to shout about, but that’s the case when you’re a solo content creator. You need to stop and then and retake videos, stuff like that. And then I forget to pause my gun. So um yeah, distance is uh roughly just short of 80 km. Uh and despite Denmark being considered a really flat country, then I think 900 height meters is a pretty decent amount of climbing on a road like today. Please hit that like button and subscribe so you don’t miss out on any future videos. Thank you for watching and uh see you next time.
