In this video, we look at 3 popular bikes from Rosebikes in Germany. They are the Sneak (dynamic city bike), the Black Lava (comfy trekking bike), and the Backroad AL (sporty gravel bike). I rode each of these on test rides, and give my spontaneous thoughts on each, as I do some bike shopping. Which was your favorite?

So today I’m looking at three different bikes from the German bike manufacturer called Rose. As you can see down there, these are some beautiful bikes and uh I’m going to try out the Sneak, which is this one here. I’m going to try out a trekking bike as well as a back road gravel bike, too. All right, so why am I so interested in these rose bikes? I mean, they’re beautiful bikes, first of all, but they have a lot of new technology and cool stuff involved. For example, this one has got a power generator here, which powers this light here, light skin, as well as the light here in the back. It’s still going. Very nice. It also includes a bike rack as well as mud guards, so you’re good to go also for when you’re biking in the weather. Something else nice is that it’s pretty light. I think this whole thing is 13 kilos. It’s got just one gear in the front. It’s got a Q’s a crank on the front and it’s got a Q’s rear derailer. Now, this is interesting. This one in particular by Shimano is the electric variant. You can see there it’s got a wire. And so, these are the clickers up in the front. And actually they change the gears electronically. So can’t see that until you’re actually biking. But it’s really really neat. It’s got hydraulic brakes on there. Hydraulic disc brakes. Very interesting. Beautiful looking bike. Now this R here I believe is also reflective so that when you it’s got a bit of a texture to it. So when you’re biking then people will see it better. Beautiful paint job on it. All in all, nice bike. So, my thoughts on this bike, it’s pretty quick and dynamic and also a bit stiff, but real nice bike. What I do have to say, it’s a little stiff, this bike. So, going like up and down on the uh sidewalk there, it’s definitely stiff. There is no suspension. And these wheels, okay, they’re pumped up real good. So, I don’t know. They’re pretty big wheels. I think these are 50 mm. But anyhow, that is the sneak. All righty. So, the next bike that we’re looking at is this one right here. This is called the Black Lava, and this is a trekking bike. Let’s take a closer look here. So, this Black Lava, this to me definitely feels like an old man’s bike. Not that it’s all that heavy. I mean, I can actually lift it up pretty easily, too, with one hand. I think it’s maybe 16, 17 kilos. So, it’s not bad, but I don’t know. It’s got this rolloff gear switcher which is here in the back. And that thing, it’s just not very dynamic. And there’s a lot of play here in between the gears. I’m just not It’s first time I’m riding it and I’m just not a big fan of that. I’m used to just normal chain. This is a ribbed belt here. So, I’m used to a chain and I’m used to a derailer in the back. This doesn’t feel very dynamic. Makes the back of the bike a lot heavier, too. It’s really weighted in the back. Now, the bike itself is comfortable. As I said, it feels like an old man’s bike. It does not accelerate very quickly. You step on it and it it’s a little sluggish. So, eh. Okay. Anyway, seat very comfortable. Much more comfortable than the sneak handlebars also a little bit more comfortable. you’re sitting on this guy a little bit more straight up compared to the Sneak. So, all in all, this is another full tracking bike. You got a nice rack in the back. You’ve got illumination on the back. You got a mud guard on there. And you got same going on in the front. You got a light. You’ve got this uh power generator here. And you got the mud guard. You’ve also got this R, although I don’t think this one is reflective. paint job on this one. In my opinion, it’s not quite as nice to look at. It’s nice matte paint job, but I like the blue of the other bike better. So, that’s what we got going on here. And let’s take a look at the next one. All right. And the last bike I’m looking at today is this one right here. It’s the Back Road AL. The AL on Rose Bike stands for aluminum. So, this bike is an aluminum frame. It’s got a carbon uh fork as far as I understand. It’s got on the front a GRX crank. It’s got a GRX rear derailer. On the front, it’s only got the one gear with 40 teeth. And on the back, it’s got 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 gears on it. Now, this is a pretty pretty sexy looking bike. It has got these drop bars here and they come with extra surface area here. It’s not just round. It’s actually more like an oval. And what that does is actually makes it really comfy to hold. So that’s very nice. This here too from Shimano. This uh lever grip very nice to hold on to as well. So nice ergonomic bike. Handsome looking. Drop bars are fun to use. Um, pretty light. Let’s pick it up one time. I don’t know the exact weight, but you know, easy to pick up. And, uh, it’s a nice bike. I’m just not so sure if that is the bike that I’m going to get or not. The reason being with this one, I got to jump up and down curbs and stuff like that in the city often. And with this guy, I find with the drop times, I’m not real capable of going up and down curbs really well. It’s also pretty stiff through the fork. Even though these are some big tires, despite that fact, it’s pretty stiff going off of curbs. So, that’s just something to keep in mind. But, it is a beautiful bike. So, and then what do I think about these bikes? When I think about the sneak and the lava and this guy, the back road, they’re all nice bikes. Uh, Rose makes beautiful bikes. maybe some of the nicest that I myself have driven. A lot of cool features. Look, this guy even has got a little cubby hole you can open up and it’s got, you know, put a power bank in there that connects up to to the front stem mount. Um, really neat bike with uh interesting things going on here for sure. But anyway, I I’m not sure which one I’m going to go for. I’d like for you guys to let me know in the comments which is the most interesting to you. For me in my way of getting to work, I drive about 45 minutes on the bike. I go up and down curbs, so I think the sneak is probably the sportiest. It’s also the lightest, and that might be the one I go for. The trekking bike is too too much like an old guy. I might be middle-aged, but I’m not that old yet. And this one I think is um it’s not ideal for the type of driving, type of biking that I do, but all nice bikes. Thanks for watching, guys.
