A trip to North Wales has led me to the new Park in the Past parkrun. Situated a few miles north of Wrexham, this beautiful 2 lap route takes in some stunning scenery and a roman fort!

Good morning. I am here on a lovely morning few miles north of Rexom at Park in the past park. [Music] It’s a relatively new one. This is only their 20th event. Um, so we are up here visiting family and we thought we’d come and give it a go. For me, this is my 349th park run. 53rd different venue. Um, it’s a letter P, but I’ve done a P before over in Psbrook in Darbisha. Um but yes, this should be good fun. Looking at the route, it’s two laps. You see it’s kind of grally through the woods. It’s really pretty here. Um we got two laps and then we do an out and back to make up the distance. So um I shall take you along with me on the camera as we’re going at the moment. Looks a lovely running conditions uh and a good crowd turning up. So looking forward to this one. And there will be a marshall at the field who will point you up into the field. I’m just going to take a photo then I’ll pop it in. Okay. You may be able to add to it. Here we go. So, I thought I’d do the little recap outside the the Iron Age hut that they’ve got here. Um, that was a lovely park run. Enjoyed that. So, yeah, two laps and then an out and back along the lake. Um, running to a fort. I’ve never thought I’d be running to a fort on a park run, but that was good fun. And get to do that twice. And there were people just setting up for for the public later in the day, so they were starting to get in their costume and stuff. So, that was quite special going through there. Really enjoyed that. Um, going up and down by the lake. It’s a shame there was a whole row of trees so you couldn’t really see the lake. Um when I was doing a cool down lap I filmed a little bit so you could see just how lovely it was. Um but it would have been nice to have seen the lake but hey maybe in the winter these fall off you’ll get a better view of that. But yeah I did about 19 10 13 uh third place. Uh really really enjoyed it. That was I would recommend this one to everybody. It’s a beautiful park run.
