I grabbed this vintage specialized road bike for cheap up over the weekend and looking to restore it as much as possible, while keeping everything as cheap as possible. My plan for now is to get new tires (replace worn 23 ones with 25 continental ultra sport), replace brake lever heads, and replace brake cables. I also checked the chain and it‘s completely worn out so I am probably long term also looking to replace that and the cassette. Any other things you guys would recommend me to do? I never bought a used bicycle before, so this is new to me.
