It was a fantastic sunny day for this Gravel ride on my steel Genesis gravel bike. An organised cycling event run by the glorious gravel. Attended with a group of friends from the Cycle UK group.

[Music] okay I go in the [Music] FR what robing I can’t hear [Laughter] you I saw my little video of My Little My Cameo yeah you got a moment uh on screen yeah also keep a lookout for pin Mark the ti of trees to show you are still on the cor Trail there’s only one boot thisday so you don’t need to worry about rice but please do look out for the caution side already run out already the most technical I’ve ever been so quick map time then basically here we’ve got um the location generally we’re in the UK and we’re in the um area between sort of London and Bristol here I came over from the Crawley area um to uh start the race with well I call it a race it wasn’t a race it was basically the Salsbury glorious gravel event so you know there’s lots of riders but they’re all there trying to get their own best time or just to enjoy the countryside because it’s an amazing area to to cycle in it’s quite a unique habitat because you’ve got um military training grounds right the way through the middle of their sorcery plane training area here basically and um lots of military bases and artillery and tanks around so so it’s one reason to do it on an organized day because there’s some risky areas around here when you’re cutting through a range where you don’t want to do that when there’s life fire or anything going on and what they do is um as organizers the Glorious gravel team obviously talk to the mod and make sure they’re doing on a safe day and give you some warnings on what to look out for and where to go and if you stick to the route then you’re in a group and you’re also following the known trail that they’ve they’ve cleared with the mod so that was great started here in Thruxton aerodrone which has like a race circuit and a um an air aircraft place and we then headed out through some leafy Lanes initially in the local area so S treelined Pleasant country lanes before heading up onto some of the sorcery plane area this was a real highlight initially really down on um from this s sidbury Hill and weather here as we dropped down past this nether Ren Airfield we saw some parachut is coming out of an aircraft so that was great to be speeding on the bike and have some fantastic views as we went down that way then the first stop was around here about 24 km um some food snacks Etc before climbing up onto this Ridge line so we had a kind of a a short sharp climb on some flinty trail up onto this ridgel line and again another highlight of the day to the north of the sorcery plane training area we just sort of skirted all along here and you’re high up you’ve got some great rolling uh h areas some technical uh sort of more rotted uh gravel and just a fun ride really all along there we all enjoyed it was wasn’t too Technical and it was fun uh before dropping down for lunch stop in this West lavington and using the labatory there uh then headed south more grassy kind of grassland it was thick grass really and bridleways along the side of some farmed areas here um before heading into bits of forest I think we had towards the end of that and it wasn’t too long but it was and wasn’t too technical either though was a little bit of downhill through some rooted forested areas roty forested areas um and then up through L Hill following again some Bridal ways along the edge that were sometimes quite rotted with some deep pools of water and lar Hill here is a military it’s l Hill camp so it’s like a Barracks area but looks like a normal village really as you as you drive along there and that’s where we were like a Stones Throw from Stonehenge it’s a shame they don’t stamp Stonehenge on here cuz this is um this is kamut and you’d think Stone Heng is quite a big one but you can see the Old King barrows new king barrows uh cursus Bridge barrows there as well back up here through this kind of North Area back again around some all of some brand new housing Estates and then back onto this training area which was again that kind of rutted some climbing here as well as we went back up you can sort of see the the climbs here towards the sort of 80 km Mark as we headed back towards the uh start location um yeah brilliant day really well organized by glorious gravel and we were really lucky with the weather as well on this 90 about 993 km ride in the end that we we managed so yeah not too technical we went easy as a group as well we were just having fun really holding on for each other one or two of us were faster but we’d hold on for the people at the back as well so we all got round in the end and uh we were all kind of safe and no major accidents or anything either so yeah great [Music] fun [Music] he [Music] [Music] I [Music] we already [Music] here [Music] I [Music] glorious glorious [Music] yes [Music] he [Music] [Music] parachutist is coming [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] down [Music] [Music] [Music] a [Music] [Music] wo woohoo Target yeah that’s what I thinking little white hoodies all cyclists either do [Music] [Music] here the [Music] valleys [Music] try propagate to the cold shaded a exactly yeah I I like the cold shade though [Music] left a little stream straight on you do much more [Music] [Applause] [Music] and I think uh we oh yes yeah let’s do it what a great ride here go Chris how’s it going guys I got to Chuck some water down I think yeah same here real [Music] good yeah I took this grassy shortcut some people were sticking to the the trail down there I hit this grass and I thought woohoo I’m going downhill on grass it’s fun and then suddenly hit to Hill and work out how hard it is to to climb on on sticky grass but it was still a lot of fun we sued off it and back on to the normal [Music] Trail yeah certainly go wide there go wide look at [Music] that [Music] [Music] we’re just at the end of the ridg line here and dropping down off it um as we get out to the sort of Westerly side of the route and and this amazing downhill was great fun I had Chris come speeding by really made a nice finish to being up on the top of the ridgel line of the hills [Music] there [Music] [Music] at least 20 of these devices are needed for a single logic panel in one of the latest computers under the ballpoint pen are the smallest Dominicans circuits at the right a circuit 20 times smaller bbel available at all good computer stores for only 500 lb Mabel the multi-fingered robot whose hands combine the strength of a gorilla with the sensitivity of a watch maker what other robot has such a combination Mabel available at all good computer stores for only 500 [Music] lb yeah [Music] Dusty oh yeah [Music] oh [Music] [Applause] [Music] here [Music] [Music] you can see here that we have some of that more uh technical bridleway stuff here in single track and uh the tanks and off-road vehicles have really churned up the main road but relatively easy to get off to these Sid tracks and INF was going a bit slowly here cuz we were working as a group but um you can see how you could avoid that you just wouldn’t or couldn’t cycle through the middle of that some of them look really deep um but you were able to avoid it it was just nice different different route isn’t it because we had mostly gravel the rest of the day it was great fun to have something a little bit more Technical and interesting like this too oh no we missed it oh wait no this is no we’ve got the route we’re on the rout yeah sorry I got the wrong yeah lost [Music] my [Music] [Music] music [Music] [Music] yeah [Music] how’s it going if scientists can find new ways to connect up the mini microcircuits then this computer brain could one day be packed into the space of a sugar [Music] cube now we [Music] [Applause] [Music] from this hill it there you go mate we do on the ride thank you thank you I really sped up the hill you were not there when I turned my back how was it good fun thank you you’re naked yeah
