Raced on the 21st of September at the Great Blakenham Circuit in Ipswich, Suffolk. Riders from Poland, Australia, Ireland, England and Wales gathered to fight for title of World Champion. Pre meeting favourites Gavin Wheeler (England and current Champion), Lukasz Nowacki (Poland), Lee Aris (England), Paweł Kozłowski (Poland) and Mark Boaler (England) needed to wrestle each other for the crown, Craig Marchant (England and former winner), Łukasz Rajewski (Poland), Daniel Pudney (Australia) and Mark Winwood (Wales and current Over 50’s Champion) would be hot on there heels and given the chance could quite easily take the spoils. Of the rest, hopes lie on the shoulders of Tomasz Włodarczyk (Poland), Craig Norton (Ireland), Richard Williamson (Ireland) and Toby Millen (Ireland). Last but by no means least are Paul White (Australia) who has ridden in an outstanding 7 previous World Finals in this category since 2009, finishing 3rd twice, in 2009 and 2011. Łukasz Rajewski (Poland) finished on the rostrom in 2023 and Jacek Wleklik scored a creditable 10 points in the last final held in Australia 2023.

[Music] Steady start. [Music] for the bike, guys. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] speed. [Music] Go go go go go go. [Music] Come on. Come on. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] [Music] I don’t think I can do this anymore. Just bring it out. Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] 17. This is the crucial one. Gate three, Gavin Wheeler. If he wins this, he will total 17 points. But his main rival, Lucas Novatki, off gate four, he is on 16 points already. If he wins this, he is the champion. If he finished second, he is the champion. Anything else? And Wheeler might be in with a shout. Off of one. Craig Norton off of two. And it is Wheeler that makes the start. Comes around turns one and two down the back straight in the lead. Coming around the outside. He’s going to slot into second. And if he can stay there, he will be the world champion. It is Wheeler. He will total 17 points. But at the moment, Noatsky in second place, he will total 19. and he will take the title unless Winwood can get up with them all. Craig Norton can pass Natski, but I don’t think that’s going to happen. They’re going to go into the last lap. Wheeler is going to win this one. Lucas Noatski is going to be the world champion. We just got half a lap. Here he comes. And he’s done it. and welcome your champion, your 2025 over individual champion from Hart Oxford and Poland is Lopez Lati 17 man off gate three Leis if he wins this he can get in a run off with Gavin Wheeler of Southampton he’s quite he comes across check is off and Wheeler is up the inside but it’s Mark Bowler he comes around the Outside is off. Bowler leads and Aerys comes up the inside of Bola. Tries the pass. Doesn’t make it. He’s got to win this one though. He has to win this race if he wants to run off for third position. Second and third position in fact is Bowler down the back straight. Aris is going to have to have a nibble. He goes to the inside. Pushes him wide. Bowler slides. It’s Aerys into the lead. This is going to do him fine. He’s going to make the runoff. He’s going to total 17 points and that’ll do nicely for Leis. Well done, Leis. Run off. [Applause] On to heat 19. Vicki and Klowski. Kazlowski makes the start from gate two. Pudney into second with Paul White from Australia slotting into third. But now Puddy comes back at him. But it’s Kuzlowski the pole. He is in the lead. Click in second. Puddy third and Paul White must here at the back but Klowski looks comfortable. Puddy’s off. There’s a leg and that is going to be an exclusion for the Polish rider. He’s legged Daniel Pudney off. And here we go for the rerun. Kazlowski one. Puddy two. Paul White, gate four. Again, it’s Kazlowski off gate two. Makes the start down the back straight. White up the inside of Puddy. Puddy now looking for the drop. Makes the drop. Comes underneath White, but it’s still Kuzlowski in the lead. Pney chasing. Paul White in third place. And this looks like the way it’s going to stand. Kuzlowski. He’s done all right in this meeting. He’s just going to fall short with points to get on the rostrm. Pudney in second sitting now for Paul White. It is Kuzlowski that is going to finish heat number 19 with four points. Py second, Paul White third. to heat 20 and the man off the outside if he wins this race, Adam Pep from Great Blakeham, he can secure second place on the rostroom, but he needs a win. But it hasn’t made the start. He’s in third place. Chris Jukes at the back, but it is Craig Merchant, his teammate from Great Blakeham, who leads Toby Millan in second place. Jukes third and Adam Peek is stranded at the back. Makes the pass down the back straight. Pushes Jukes wide, but this is not going to be enough for Adam Peek. He’s going to fall short. He’s going to have end up with 16 points. And that is not enough because Wheeler and Aris have finished on 17. They’re going to have a runoff for second and third place. Peek is unfortunately going to finish third in this heat 20. It is Craig Martin that’s going to win. Toby Milan pushing all the way and that is very disappointing for Adam Peek, unfortunately. Here we have the raft tossing the coin. I think Leeris has lost the toss. Gavin Wheeler has chosen gate two. That’s the way they’ll start on the on the gate. We’re off gate two. Leas off gate four. This is the runoff for second and third place. Lucas Novaki has secured the world championship, but this is for the silver medal. And Wheeler down the back straight. He’s looking after Leis. Leeris is certainly a man for the pass. He knows how to pass people. Gavin Wheeler really does know how to look after a winning position. Aris is looking inside, looking outside. Gavin Wheeler is really riding the perfect race here. He is just got keeping Aerys on his outside. One lap to go and Aris has got to do something. He’s got to make the pass otherwise Gavin Wheeler will secure second place and the silver medal in this world championship. It’s going to it’s going to be Wheeler. Well done Gavin Wheeler. What a race. Absolutely perfect. You don’t ride a runoff much better than that. 321. And ladies and gentlemen, well, what can you say about this guy? And uh he’s done it all in his career. He’s merged the GB team remarkably this week. and uh deserves all the accolades that you can give him. Third place in our meeting today, Lee Aris. Sorry, man. I’m going to try and tick you all to get that. Yeah. Yeah. Well done. And the man who took the top spot of the runner today and he’s always there or thereabouts, isn’t he? You can never underestimate the Wheeler family. And this time round is a silver medal for Gavin Wheeler. [Applause] All right. Congratulations. And last, but by no means least, ladies and gentlemen, stand on your feet to welcome your 2025 over 40s world champion Viesta Lashi. [Music] I’d like to come around this year. A stunning performance from the world half raced Polish rider and uh well he’s graced the tracks the world hasn’t he in his career and a world championship jersey fits so well across those broad Polish shoulders. So, congratulations to Lucas and uh well, who knows? There may be many, many more of those to come. Thank you. And there’s the big Don’t forget that one. Don’t forget that one.
