I bought the bike as a complete in 2008 with drop bars and a fixed gear cog. Over the years I’ve changed it over and this past summer I decided to go all in when I started commuting 14 miles each way to work. I cut through some pretty gnarly neighborhoods so reliability was front of mind for the build…I depart at 3:45am. I also wanted to go kind of baller on certain components. The 3-speed really flattened out the city. Gets me to work either faster or drier…my choice.
