In this vlog, I’ll take you on a journey full of flavors, traditions, and relaxing moments through the north of Portugal!
We start at Tamis Restaurant, in Entre-os-Rios, a charming spot where great food meets the calm of the river. Then we head to Pedorido, with its little chapel surrounded by greenery, a perfect place for picnics and family gatherings. We continue to the miners’ statues, a symbolic way of keeping the region’s history alive.
Later, we sat down at Camelo Restaurant in Portuzelo, a beautiful country estate known for its Minho gastronomy and warm atmosphere. Then we went to Viana do Castelo, where we visited the Costume Museum of Viana and discovered the richness of its local traditions.
We ended the day by the sea, in Gaia, at the Daikiri esplanade in Madalena, the perfect place to relax at sunset. And of course, there had to be a bike ride by the seaside, because there’s nothing better than feeling the ocean breeze while cycling along the Atlantic.
A day filled with delicious food, culture, landscapes, and simplicity, everything that makes Portugal so special.
[Music] We came to a restaurant called Tamish and is located in a beautiful place. This place is called Entrush. It’s near the Dora River and the Tanga River. It was not supposed to come here. We were going to other place, but uh it was closed and uh we found this place and it was a pretty good surprise because the food here is delicious. I ate octopus and was so good, so delicious, so terror. And my family ate roast lamb and they said that it was also delicious. So sometimes it’s good to lost ourselves and found different places and discover places like this. If you can come here because outside the place is beautiful. When we have good food, we always feel better. You already know I don’t drink alcohol, but the staff brought this liquor to my parents and it was on the house and my parents said that it was delicious. In village, the way people treat you is always special. It feels as if you are part of their family. And honestly, there’s nothing better than this. Top quality foods combined with amazing people. [Music] Now we stop in Porito, a small place full of charm. Here you will find this chapel surrounded by the greenery and is a perfect spot to slow down. One of my parents favorite outings is to walk around these areas. In fact, we were here just last year. Back then, my husband was with us too, but now he is already back in Lwanda. That’s just how our life is. Sometimes in Portugal, sometimes in Angola. And you put all the sugar right on me. And what a crash. What a crash. And now we stopped at a very curious spot where statues of miners stand tall. These lifesized figures remind us of the region past once connected to the mining work. [Music] So I came to a restaurant called Camelo. This is located in Portoello near Vienna. And this place is very beautiful. This restaurant is one of my parents favorite. And if you ever want to know where to eat really well in the north of Portugal, just ask my parents. Their favorite pastime is discovering great food. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] Now I am at Vienna and this city is known as the princess of Mingo and is also known as the city of hearts. They sell some necklace with some beautiful hearts. This is also the land of my mother’s grandmother. So every time that my mother come here, she feels very nostalgic. Small towns in Portugal always have a special charm. There’s something about them that makes us feel like we stepped straight into a fairy tale. Vienna Castello is one of those places calm, beautiful, and with such a strong identity that it almost feels like we are traveling back in time. Among the city’s greatest cultural treasures is the traditional custom of Vienna. considered one of the most beautiful in Portugal. And now we are in the custom museum of Vienna where you can see the diversity of these traditional outfits. My mother told me that her grandmother used to wear clothes like this every single day, always in black covered with layers of gold necklace. What have you done with me, sugar girl? It’s like a spout. I feel I float in car for it was a walking pure bliss. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] So I came to a place called Dakiri. This place is located in Medalena in the Gaia beaches. This is right in front of the sea. The weather today is very very good. So there are a lot of people in the terrace and meals here are healthy meals like the smoothies wraps with veggies a lot of vegan and microbiotic foods. So if you enjoy this kind of foods you will enjoy this place. I don’t think I want to go. You can hold it. I got nothing more to say. Looking on your face when I give you what you need.
