I’m trying to fit a Tailfin Universal Thru Axle to my bike (a Mason RAW), and it won’t fit through the dropout. It gets a few cm in, until it reaches the section where the two axle halves thread together, which is just a tiny bit wider than the rest of the axle at 11.95 mm (the rest of it is around 11.91 mm).
The stock axle that came with the bike measures up at 11.85 mm and of course fits fine. Meanwhile the Tailfin axle fits into my other bikes no problem.
Is this a tolerance issue on the dropout or the axle? If it’s the dropout, what options do I have?
