Guys and girls, welcome back to the channel. Today I’m back at In Moto in Warrington. And no, I don’t have a bedroom here, albeit I do feel like I live here a lot of the time. I’ve got a new bike to show you. So, let’s just get straight to it. [Music] So, this is the Sim Symphony 125. It is currently up for sale at Interim Moto for £2,299. What we’ll do usual fashion, I’ll do the walk around. I’ll show you or I’ll give you some specs as we’re going and then we’ll go for a test ride. So, make sure you stay with me for that. Start off the usual way from the closeup. I’ll show you all the way around the bike so you can see it from all different angles. You can see with this bike there isn’t a registration plate on it because it is unregistered as of yet. It is a brand spanking new bike and it is sporting the step through so very very easy to get on. If you’re not as flexible as you used to be, it’s a good option. And it does have the LED lights on this as well, so it’ll make you nice and visible. So, if we go over the brakes first, you’ve got a 240 mm disc at the back and you’ve got the disc at the front as well with a two piston caliper. And this doesn’t have ABS, but it does have CBS braking. The step through, as I’ve said, it makes it really easy to get on the bike. It’s also gives you a little bit of storage room at the front as well. So, you don’t have to have a backpack. You could have a bag in between your legs. You’ve got a bag hook there for that. I always think that’s good. Very practical. I actually like the subtle color change. It’s like a a light burgundy. I’m going to say, but I think it goes well with the white. It does have dual shocks at the back. Hopefully that’ll make it comfortable for the bumpy road, especially the cobbles outside into Moto. I’ll find that out very, very shortly. There is a little bit of storage over here. So, let’s have a look at that. It might be useful for gloves or a drink or something like that. You might get a small bottle in there. I say might, it would have to be like a fruit shoot or something. It’s a key. None of that keyless stuff. Let’s open the seat and see how much storage we’ve got under there. That’s not actually too bad. You know, now it doesn’t look particularly wide. So, I can’t see a full face helmet fitting in there if I’m honest. In fact, I might go and No, I will. I’m going to go and grab a full face helmet. But what I would say is whilst it does appear to be quite slim, it’s quite deep. Let me grab a helmet. Okay. So, what I’ve done, I’ve just took a helmet from the shelf inside inoto. It’s an MT helmet. $79.99. Not bad. I’m not plugging it. I’m just Yeah, it’s got a price on there and just as expected really. Yeah, it’s not fitting in there. You won’t be able to close the seat with the helmet in. However, uh look at it as just some additional storage, shopping bag or something like that. You don’t have to wear a backpack. It does take E5 and E10. It’s 5 1/2 lers. So, not massive in motorcycle terms, but in scooter terms, yeah, you’ll get loads of miles for that because these are usually good for in excess of 100 m per gallon. I always think the bonus of these scooters is weight. Now, this is no exception to that. It’s 123 kg. So, yeah, it’s fairly decent as far as weight goes. It’s very very easy to get off the side stand as you can see and to move it about it’s just a little to no effort. So yeah, I think if weight is a consideration for you if you do have to kind of juggle them around in the shed, the garage, wherever you’re putting them, you wouldn’t have an issue with this. Very, very easy to do. It does have a center stand as well. And to put it on that, we’re literally just stepping onto it. And that was as easy as you’re ever going to get. No, very easy to do. This has got the 125cc engine. It delivers 11 horsepower or 8 kW. Now, what I’ve always found with scooters is I wouldn’t pay a lot of attention to that. Like, I know they can have a maximum of 15. However, weight does matter and it’s a light bike. So, I’m hoping even with just that 11 horsepower, it’s still going to be fairly nippy around town, but I’ll find that out shortly when we go for a spin. Buttons on this I just describe as being just very typical of this type of scooter. So, you’ve got all of the bar is pretty much encased with this plastic. So, there isn’t anywhere to mount a satnav or mobile phone or anything like that unless you’ve got one of these wing mirror mounts. But going back to the buttons, you’ve got horn, you’ve got indicators, you’ve got high and low beam, and then on the opposite side, you’ve got your engine start. So, just very simple, but that’s the thing with scooters. They are made to be simple. They are made to be easy to use. And looking at this, it does appear just very typical to that. There is USB charging. I do like that USB charging is always very good, but as I’ve already pointed out, there’s nowhere really to mount anything. So, unless you’ve got the wire going from the into your pocket or you’ve got one of these mounts that you can get for your wing mirror. Uh yeah, you might just have a bit of a trailing wire on that, but it’s good that it’s got it. You can keep yourself charged up. They’ve not gone for any flash TFT screen. You’ve just got your old style screen. Uh you well, you’ve got your old style speedo and then you’ve got your warning lights at the side. There is a digital bit there. So, let’s switch it on and have a look at what that is. I should imagine that’s just going to be uh total miles, fuel gauge, all that malarkey. But yep, as expected, you’ve got a clock, you’ve got your total miles, and there is a fuel gauge, and that is it. Let me have a little press on these. So, yeah, your left buttons just going through your trip computer and the right one is just changing from your clock to a voltmeter. So, very basic, but it’s what you want. This type of bike is a just jump on and ride. You don’t have to mess with any settings. You don’t have to do anything really. They’re just very, very easy. I’ve shown you it going onto the center stand. And to get it off the center stand, because it’s light, I’m expecting that to be easy as well. So, just a little nudge and it’s off. Simple. Now, I do like when you’ve got a scooter that’s just like this type where you can get on easy. You don’t have to throw your leg over the back. You can just slide on through like that and it’s easy. Especially, you know, if you’re someone that isn’t as flexible as you used to be. I I would say I come under that bracket. Um, now, yeah, just like a lot of scooters really, a seat like this, if you’re sat near the front of the seat, I’ve got a bend in me knee. I’m perfectly flatfooted, but you can move yourself back and you’re still on what is like the the rider’s portion of the seat. And as soon as you do that, I’m on the balls of me feet. So, it kind of will suit a shorter rider at the front to a taller rider at the back. You won’t feel too big or too small for this bike. So, I like that. And the step through. Um, yeah, you’ve not got a lot of room for your feet. You can maybe move it forward an inch or two and then back the same. So yeah, there’s not a few different foot positions that you get on like the the ADX or the ADV type that have the the cruising position. You don’t get that on the step three bikes. But it does feel comfortable. The seat feels comfortable. And as I’ve said, if I’m flat footing it, it’s good because I’m 5’8 with a 29 in inseam. So I’m only short short legs. So if I can do it, most of you will be able to do it as well. And getting off again, it’s easy. No drama. That is the walk round done. Now what I will do, if you’re interested in any more of the specs, which I know some of you are, then I will put a link in the description for Inoto, in particular, this bike, and you can see what sort of specs you’ve got. Now, I know very recently I’ve had people commenting about security. Now, I mentioned this to Interim Moto and they’ve made me aware of an amazing offer that they’ve got on at the minute in relation to trackers. Oh, loads of reflection on the poster. But this is the deal they’ve got on at the minute. So, you can get a data tool stealth tracker. You can see it should be $359, but they’re being sold for $199 and that includes fittings. So definitely worth considering when you’re buying a bike because you can save on the insurance, but also it’s the peace of mind of having that security on it. That’s the walk around done. So we finished on the specs for now. Let’s take it for a ride. Let’s see how it handles what looks like the very busy streets of Warrington Town Center. Let’s go. Let’s do the first test. Little scooter turning circle appears to be all right. So, let’s turn it around. Yeah, it’s as expected really. They’re really easy to maneuver these because they are so light and they’re small and low seat height and everything. So, yeah, we’re off to a good start. Loads of room between me and the green fence. Let’s see what it’s like on the cobbles, the bumpy bits. So, it’s got the dual shocks at the back, which does promise a comfortable ride. And yeah, do you know what? Via the seat, I’m not getting any bumps really. I am getting a little bit through the bars at the front. So, it does feel bumpy via the arms, but bizarrely doesn’t via the back side. So, the rear suspension appears to be softer than the front. Oh, so from a standing start, it certainly gets to 30 m an hour fast enough. That was a matter of seconds, which is pretty good. And this is really where scooters live. I know there are people that take them on tours and everything else, but most I would say buy them for this kind of environment. And this is what you want it to do. You want it to pick up speed nice and quickly from a standing start. This does really light and chuckable. See what we’re like for a little bit of filtering. Now, you can see here it’s very tight. I certainly wouldn’t be taking my bigger motorcycle through here. Oh, in fact, with those wing mirrors as they are, yeah, I’m not taking this through here either. You do have considerably more room on one of these than you have with the bigger bike. And you can see you can get through quite easily. And it has got a little bit of pull to it as well, so you can get yourself out of trouble with a little twist. I like that. I’ve always been impressed with Sims in general. I’ve always found that their engines are really, really good from a standing start. Um, I don’t think I’ve ever been on a sim that I haven’t actually liked, and this is just another example of that. So, let me try brake test. Wow, that is fierce. Now, it was a little squeeze, but that was really, really easy and quick to stop. And that is what you want safetywise. Uh, yeah, you need to know it goes all right, but you need to know it will stop very quickly if you need to stop in a hurry, and it does that perfectly. Now, here’s a test that I have done before, but I’ve not done it for ages. I’m going to try on this car park. So, with a lot of 125s and electric bikes, and I’ve tried it on a couple, just getting to 30 mph in this stretch and then coming to a stop. Yeah, some bikes can’t do it, believe it or not. I’ve tried some electrics that really struggle to get 30 mph before the end of this little stretch of car park and it’s probably I don’t know 150 m maybe something like that. But we’ll give it a go. We’ll see how this furs 30 m an hour and then bring it to a stop. I’m lost for words. That was actually really good. So, I’ve got to 30 mph and to a stop in half of the distance. That’s actually really good both on performance and on braking as well. That’s That’s impressive. If I did have a scooter, I would definitely be using it a lot for the shorter journeys. And this Yeah, I mean, it’s getting up to 40 m an hour with no drama. It’s still pulling. I’m obviously easing off cuz that’s the speed limit. But um yeah, I think this would be suitable to do the slightly faster roads. I’m not doing any sort of performance test on this today. It is just an initial impressions ride, but 30 m an hour, 40 mph, absolutely no issues whatsoever. It wouldn’t surprise me if this could do 60 or above. So, if you have one of these, because I know they’ve been around a while, let me know. or in particular, let other people know what maximum speed you’ve had out your bike. In fact, if you’ve had one of these, I’d love to know actually your take on them because I get them for a very short period of time. Whereas you guys who’ve lived with them, you’ll be able to give us, you know, your thoughts, feedback, let us know what sort of speeds you’ve had out of them. Let me know what sort of range you’ve had out of a full fuel tank as well. All stuff that I’m interested in. But I think any one who’s considering buying one of these, I always find it’s better to come from an owner or a former owner than it is from someone like myself who who only gets the bike for a short period of time. So yeah, please share away in the comments. I Don’t even look. Just move over into this lane if you want. What an absolute bell end. Just a word of warning for anybody who goes on a motorcycle. Always expect car drivers to be out to get you because they genuinely always seem to be out to get you. You have always got somebody like that that changes lane without looking. Clearly, he didn’t look because if he looked, he’d have seen me right at the side of him. And if I hadn’t of eased off the throttle, I’d have been a mark on the floor down the road. But that’s just what you get. So, you’ve just got to be really aware. And they’ve just done it again. No indicating. Just move over. Just Oh, yeah. You’ve got to watch. You’ve got to always be careful riding around any town because there’s always a numb nuts like that idiot. But as long as you expect it, you’re prepared for it, aren’t you? Anyway, back to the bike. Um, round the corners, round the bends, round the roundabout, it’s really lovely. I can’t complain too much. It’s comfortable. The performance is good. The brakes are good. Um, considering it’s on new rubber and I’m not really like I’ve not rode it with anger or tried to do any fast speed cornering, but just around town I’ve just got absolutely no issues. And because of that numbnuts just, you know, cutting up in the side of me, um, I got to test the horn out as well and the horn works perfectly well. But again, it’s a lovely bike to ride. It is what I would call another option. I know there are lots of them now on these 125 scooters. And it’s a good thing, I think, to have lots of options available. And a few people have asked me to do the Sim Symphony. I can now take it off the list as being done. But yeah, I’ve enjoyed it. It’s a nice bike to ride. It’s comfortable. Performance is good. Braking’s good. Uh there’s not really a lot to complain about. Um the only thing I would say just from a personal note is that this bike cost 2,299 and there are a lot of scooters around that price. Now, the thing is for me is lookswise with this bike, it looks like a generic 125cc scooter cuz nothing kind of stands out as being like a really goodlooking bike or something that you know you would buy based on looks. So, I think it could kind of become a bit invisible inside into Moto because there’s a lot of bikes in there that stand out a lot more than this. If you want a bike for a commute to work and you’re going through a busy town, center, city, whatever, this is a good option. You know, it is it’s a nice little bike. And that’s going to do me. Link in the description if you’re interested. For now, catch you on the next one. Lers. to war. Yeah. He’s a killer. That’s right.

I really like your reviews, unfortunately I’m not a scooter fan but I just want to know if you’ve ever washed your jeans because they’re looking grubbier on each review 😂
My sister owned the Peugeot tweet which is basically this bike but re badged, same engine and frame with different plastics, they are low powered even for a 125 but on a duel carriageway they can wind up to a very impressive 70mph, I clocked her on my bike with GPS when we was out on a ride,
I thing to watch is corrosion and if the regulator is mounted under the rear mudguard like it is on the tweet I’d recommend moving it, as the wires corroded and broke leaving my sister stranded at the side of the road,
The engine is very good and reliable but do use a slight bit of oil so it’s good to keep checking it as they only hold just 700ml
Please do a review of the new lexmoto 125 D2 very cheap but superb build and spec.
that 0-40 is really impressive to be fair
I learned to love Sym on this channel.
They are nice sym symphony, I bought a new sym orbit 3 about 5 weeks ago ,the first bike iv had in 30 years and luvin being back on the road again, my last bike was a honda cbr1000 😅 but as you say those old limbs don't stretch like they used to so a step through is easier 😅😅😅
Good value. A Honda Mode lookalike, and a great option.
The Sym is a great scooter, and when you put a topcase on the back, say a 35 litre, there's more than enough room for your helmet and shopping. I had a 50cc years ago. The only problem is the speed restrictions of 45 kph, not even 30 mph here in germany, that's dangerously slow, even for a city bike.
Looks very cheap on camera but impressive for the price if reliable. My friend in Spain only buys sym. Swears by them
When I look at these scooters I always ask how easy it is get to the battery. My Honda needs to go on charge over the weekend in the winter, fortunately the battery is easy to get to.
Thank you for this review. Sym is one of the brands that started selling in Serbia only recently, so I am looking at them with great curiosity.
Thanks for another unique video showing people the options they have 👍
Looks a nice scooter I've got a Honda cd 200 Bentley there one for one for you
Hi Gilly. I know that Sym does a decent machine. Going back, my son owned one of their mopeds. That was a great little bike for what it was. The Symphony also looks impressive. But, would you recommend it over something from Honda? A new Vision has less advanced features, but can be had for the same price. The SH Mode is not really much more expensive than this.
👍
Another Generic Scooter, They are mostly great, as easy to ride as a push bike. There is one very important thing to check when buying one, " is there enough distance between the seat and the bars" If your elbows are at right angles it is very difficult to brace yourself under heavy braking. Try sitting on a few and find one that allows you to ride with your elbows just slightly bent so you can absorb the wight of your body under brakeing.all the time remembering you do not want totally straight locked elbows. I wish I had discovered them years ago, they are so much fun.
