okay here I go no going back now so we are here in liip Germany and we’re super excited to be here for 2 days and to show you everything that we see eat and do and to kick things off we’re grabbing some food at the famous zidel bakery they’re known for slow baking which is said to ensure topnotch quality and taste the cinnamon rolls here did not disappoint and were absolutely Exquisite it’s definitely worth a stop if you’re in Li plug vit’s [Music] neighborhood now it’s off to see the center of leig but stay tuned because we’ll be back to the plog Vitz neighborhood later in day two of this video so first up on our two days and lipic we’re headed to one of the most famous spots in all of liic and that is St Thomas Church it was first built in the 12th century and is most famous because Johan sebastan Bach was the music director here it only cost €1 to enter and the church itself was pretty unique with the stained glass and the vaed painted ceilings which were absolutely incredible it’s a small church but definitely worth the visit on top of just Yan sasan Bach being the music director here Mozart also played here and in 1519 Martin Luther actually preached from the pulpit here so a little bit of cool history that you can see when you’re in leig overall the St Thomas Church is definitely worth a stop when you come visit leig now on to the next spot [Music] so we made it to the center of leig we’re here in the mock spots it is actually quite bigger than what I expected and right behind me here is the Old City Hall and Museum it’s quite gorgeous and it’s big um I don’t know if we’re going to have a chance to go in there today but um maybe something to check out [Music] later behind us right here is coffee bomb and it’s the oldest coffee shop in all of Europe unfortunately it’s closed right now so we’re not able to go but really wanted to go because I love coffee Becca not so much and it’d just be a really cool thing to visit so if you visited it while you’re in liip make sure to drop that in the comments and let us know cuz I’m really curious how it was and I feel like it’s something we missed out on and we’ll have to come back to next time we’re here in leig when it’s [Music] open we are about to go up to the Panorama Tower this is the Panorama building right up here behind me I think it is on the 31st floor and so we’re going to go check it out let’s go [Music] okay we just got back down from the Panorama Tower the views were outstanding so what you do is you take the elevator up to the 29th floor and then there’s just a few flights of stairs I think technically the Panorama views on the 31st floor it was just 5 to enter and then you can see views of the whole city [Music] there’s also a little bar up there where you can sit have a drink as well as a restaurant on the other side we didn’t check out the restaurant but I’m sure there’s good views there as well for only5 I would say it’s definitely worth it to check out when you’re in [Music] leic now we just got out of St Nicholas church here and you cannot take pictures inside so unfortunately we can’t show you you’re going to have to look those up on the internet it says you can buy photo permission for €2 but it’s only for private use but it’s absolutely incredible the ceiling is outstanding and it just has these pastel almost Easter likee colors and ornate details all over the ceiling it’s definitely something you have to see it’s free to enter so why not go and I’ll tell you the inside is way more spectacular than the [Music] outside we always love trying local Desserts when traveling so it’s time to give leip’s famous Lera a go at Kleiner Bakery even though we don’t know quite what it is so we got the life Seer L sure if I’m saying it right and I’m not even sure what it is but it’s a traditional dessert from here we got a little selection I don’t think we’re going to be able to finish all of them but I’m going to try the original first it’s definitely full of marzipan it’s really dense you can taste almost almost like an almondy in there I really like it it’s not overly sweet and no really powerful but I love the marsipan in there and this is this is absolutely delicious okay next up is this one I think this one was see my Mike said that the original tasted like marzipan but I thought that this one was the marzipan one so we’ll see [Music] well this one’s definitely Mar pancy um it’s very dent and thick almost like a cookie on the outside wow but it’s delicious and very filling so yeah the other two you might have to leave up to your imagination probably going to them at home but these are really good and you should definitely try them when you’re [Music] here so right now we’re sitting out front of the new town hall we were at the Old Town Hall earlier but this one’s apparently the new one even though it’s still fairly old it’s a beautiful building and it’s the last thing we’re going to see before actually leaving the center and going out into some of the different neighborhoods here in leig and I’ll say for the center it was absolutely beautiful there were a lot of old buildings it was cool tons of pedestrian streets however I will say that it’s pretty small it’s actually smaller than I thought it was on the map is you can kind of walk around the whole thing in not too much time but I’m so excited to see these other neighborhoods that we’ve heard so many amazing things about here in leig so let’s see where this takes us all right so even though the weather doesn’t quite call for it it is early spring so we happen to see that this beer garden is open walking through leig here out of the center and why not stop and have a nice local pills so Frost oh that’s really good I like it it has just a a little bit of bite to it it’s not super smooth like a helis I don’t even know if this is a special one from lipic but there is a beer I want to try that’s really popular in lipic that we’re going to get to tomorrow in day two of this video so stay tuned for that so for day two here in leig we are in plog vit it’s a neighborhood just outside of the center and we’re going to head to the shinerai I might be saying it wrong but it’s an old Cotton Mill that’s now an art center and I can already tell this neighborhood is definitely more of our Vibe it seems really cool with a bunch of stuff here [Music] so we just stopped here at the meal Bakery before heading into the spinner ey and I got the sweet potato and Chago um or asparagus key very German so let’s see here M oh yeah actually the asparagus in here is quite good and seasoned really well and the sweet potato is super creamy this is a really good combo and we might have to try another one so we also decided to get something sweet we have the frz brooch in here I’m just going to bite into it this is one of our favorite desserts here in Germany the cinnamon on there it’s nice it’s not too like wet and soft it has a nice little crunch to it and just the right amount of cinnamon this is really delicious and if you’re coming to the spai stop here it’s right before you go in it’s absolutely excellent highly recommend [Music] it so we’re here walking around the spinner ey it looks like it’s just a bunch of businesses now um it’s kind of cool to walk around but honestly not something that you have to see when you’re in leig I would say if you are over here and go to the bakery then it’s something to check out but not something you necessarily have to go out of your way for [Music] there are also some cool art galleries around here but unfortunately they all seem to be closed right now so if you are around here you want to come to the spinner eye just make sure you look up what time they’re open for cuz I can peek in and see some really cool artwork [Music] right now we’re out walking to the linen hour hofen I’m not really sure what it is but I saw that there was some kind of Port area so we’re walking there right now it’s a beautiful day outside I can see that there’s some really nice like new apartment buildings over here along this canal so we’re going to see what else there is up [Music] ahead so we continued walking down the path we’re here at the lyen hour hoffen AKA the land Harbor and um it’s I think just an unfinished Canal That was supposed to be connected and it looks like there’s some kind of a combo like back there there were some really nice residential new buildings and now here um there’s looks like these like rundown old factories or something if anyone knows please drop it in the comments but it’s like I said beautiful day outside I would definitely come walk around here if you have the time it’s just nice to get outside and enjoy the nature [Music] now after all that walking we definitely worked up an appetite and we’re heading to a place that has a vegan donor it’s called Fleer ey and from what we’ve heard it’s supposed to be good so let’s see what it’s [Music] like so we got our vegan donor or voner to go and now we’re walking along the carlh canal and it’s really cool it’s kind of a nice little pathway that’s just in the city in the neighborhood of plug fits here and it’s pretty relaxing it’s obviously a nice day to be outside not always the case in Germany but I just love the little bit of graffiti here the canal and just the peacefulness getting down below the shops and Below all the apartments in the streets it’s really nice here and I’d say definitely walk along here while you’re here in leig and we’re trying to find a little spot here in the sun where we can try that vegan donor and see how it tastes so we’re walking here and we just spotted this slide right across the canal it looks huge and we’re definitely going to have to go over and check that out so while we didn’t immediately find a place to eat this veg oh no this is this vegan donor is so loaded I just dropped some of the veggies off the top but while we didn’t find a place to eat this immediately and we actually came right over by that slide to eat it I’m so excited to try this out cuz I am starving I don’t even where to start this is really good 730 is a little bit maybe on the pricier side for a donor but this thing is absolutely loaded we debated getting two but only got one I think it’s perfect because we got some more food coming up and drinks but this is really good the vegan meat on here is outstanding and this is loaded with veggies and the taziki sauce we decided to get it with is absolutely delicious I would say the vcy is a must go especially if you’re vegan and want to try out some traditional German food like Curry worst or donor it’s absolutely delicious and perfect day to eat it outside by the river now if you’re loving our videos like this one in leig that show you a bunch of great local places to eat tons of history and exploring cities with a bunch of local experiences make sure to like And subscribe to my travel BF because that’s what we strive to bring you so you can have a a lot of these same experiences when you travel and visit these cities again like And subscribe so you get notified of all our videos and make sure to check out our other ones while you’re here now let’s keep going with leig okay here I go down this line I’m not going to let I’m kind of scared it looks pretty Ste okay oh God God I’m scared okay here I go no going back now oh my God are you okay yeah oh my God I just totally flew off in the I don’t know I got any good um images of that oh my God yeah I’m [Music] fine so far our next stop here in liip we are headed to a very special place and that’s because they have a beer that leig is especially known for and that’s called goza now if you’ve been following us long enough you know that we’ve actually been to the home of goab beer in goler Germany you can check that video out right up here but while goler is the home of goab beer leig is actually most famous for it so we’re super excited to try it out right here at this Brewery so let’s go inside so we are here at the Bish Bon Hawk here in liip and I got the leig goza I’m so excited to try it I absolutely love this logo here it’s this nice cloudy beer it does not abide by the ran height sod here in Germany which means it has more than water barley Hops and yeast and that’s because it’s actually brewed with coriander and salt so I’m excited to give this one a go that is good it’s nice and smooth I really like it it has almost a little bit of an apricot taste in the tiny Touch of saltiness but not sure I can taste the coriander too much it’s absolutely delicious and again love that logo they had an awesome logo on the way in when you come visit leig this is definitely a thing to taste highly recommend it give it a go they have a ton of options here so maybe I’ll have to have another one while we’re here but again something to do and to check out and I’d say this is definitely the place to have it since it’s brewed here again if you’re looking for the original goza head to gosler Germany in Neer saxin because that’s actually where it was made even though it’s more famous here in leig all right [Music] PR now one interesting fact about the city of Lei is that it was in the former East Germany and behind me here sits one of the remnants of that and that is spoon family it’s one of the most iconic neon ads that existed in East Germany and it still exists today it still sits here just as it was at at the time looking over the city of leig I think it’s really cool because it’s a pretty iconic piece of historic advertising so it’s a mustsee when you’re here in leig make sure to check out our other videos traveling around Germany here we’ll see you over at those other videos bye [Music]

  1. There are two famous city churches in the center of Leipzig. One is very pretty on the outside an meh on the inside. The other is boring on the outside and spectacular on the inside! Would you agree?
Thanks for checking out my home and spreading the word! 😊

  2. If you visit St. Thomas Church try to find a time when the Thomaner (boys) choir has a rehearsal or if someone plays the organ for an exercise or a concert – the atmosphere is amazing ❤
