We bought my son this bike in all black (see last picture), but his first week riding it, he rode home on a flat but didn’t know he had a flat. (How is that even possible?!?)

Went to fix the flat and as soon as we left the bike shop, it went flat again. Tried it one more time, and still only managed 4 blocks before it blew again. Probably metal shavings, but my son lost interest and I was more than fed up with the whole situation! Fast forward 4 years, my son’s off to college and the bike’s been collecting dust.

Wild hair meet ass. So I ordered a wheelset from City Ground for $169 or something like that. Got new Merritt platform pedals. Tightened the chain, and it rides like a dream to this newbie. It accelerates when I want it to with gentle persuasion. And the brakes are spot on, which I find important riding in the city as a bike kook. Love SS!

P.S. I’ve been a skateboarder for 41 years, and 25 of them have been through Manhattan and Brooklyn streets. We ride! Whatever the vessel, we ride!
