Joe Timmsiola returns for more Pro Cyclist Mode gameplay on Pro Cycling Manager 25!
And today it’s a massive episode. We head to the biggest race in the world for the first time in our pro cycling career – the Tour de France!
With the likes of Tadej Pogacar, Jonas Vingegaard and Remco Evenepoel all on the start line, we are highly unlikely to be relevant in the GC. Instead, we are here to hunt stage victories. 🏆
Can we make an impact on the race in a first week which on paper, doesn’t suit our characteristics?

Oh, he’s back. He’s back. Joe Timiola is back today. It’s been a little while since the last one. I’ve been focusing on the Lela playthrough, which we smashed out last week. Go and watch it if you’ve missed it. But I cannot wait to get into today’s episodes. And that’s because coming up today, we start the tour to France, the biggest race in the world for the first time in our career. Before jumping into the tour though, we have a very important email. I think for the final time, our contract discussions. Now, in the last episode, I asked you guys who we should sign for next season. A lot of you said Moistar. Unfortunately, they don’t want to sign us right now. So, for me, it’s either coming down to Europe car, moving to our rivals team, maybe replacing Lucas Lopez, or staying at Coffodis. So, again, all of my interest is going into Europe car. I think at this rate, we’re going to get an offer from them. And some of you also said in the comments in the last episode, we should try and get our favorite riders to come to the tour to France with us. The likes of Yurus who did so well at Parinise and of course Super Joshy Bernett. But unfortunately, we can’t bring them to the tour to France. I can’t adjust our riders for that race and that’s a massive shame. Anyway, we have officially arrived. It’s tour to France day. So, let’s take a look at the parkour. So, it would seem we have the 2024 parkour. Starting in Florence, a stage which Roman Badday finally won his tour to France stage. And after some climbs in the first couple of stages, we have a plethora of flat stages, a time trial, and days for the sprinters. But that stage 9 features the cobblestones. So, our recent Northern Classics upgrade will definitely come in handy right there. Anyway, splitting the race in two. From stage 11 onwards, we have a couple more sprint stages, but then the final week at this race is where the big mountains come. That’s where the GC will be decided. But talking about that GC, we’re not competing for it. We’re simply not good enough right now as a rider. We’re going stage hunting. Maybe we can go for the KM jersey as well. There are two goals, I reckon, at this race. And let’s be real, if we do win a tour to France stage, that will be an unbelievable result. But even doing that against this start list is going to be so so tricky. I mean everyone is here. Look at the UEE team. Pagatcha has Auso, Almeida and Del Toro to help him in the mountains. Yornness fingerard has the likes of Carropaz, Nordhen, Walt Vanar with Brennan and Olaf Koi here as well. But the defending champion is Remco Aapool. He won the tour last year and he has the likes of Civikov, Van Wielder and Lurf to help him with Malier here for the sprints. But we do have Jasper Phillips and I can see no match of Vanderpool either. MVDP has just fractured his kneecap and will miss the tour to France. So unlucky. And one final thought on this start list. No Lucas Lopez chosen for Europe car. That says everything, doesn’t it? Looking at our teammates though, we have the likes of Aaron Buru, Bookman, and Fretan who is our sprinter. I reckon Timiola is the team leader though. Our tiredness is creeping up, but our fitness is smashing through the roof as well. We are ready for the tour to begin. And it begins with this medium mountain day into Remony from Florence over 210k and of course Tal Pagatcha is the favorites. So without further ado, it’s time for the tour to France to begin. Away we go in Florence, Italy, but it’s a minus two day for Timiola. He’s feeling the tour to France nerves, I reckon, on his debut. Now in real life, this stage was won from the breakaway. I wanted to join the breakaway as well, but on a minus two day, I don’t think it’s worth it, especially with Tad Paga in the white bib shorts. You know what that means? He wants to win today’s stage. Anyway, six riders up the road. Our teammate Aaron Buru is among them. So, we are going to get our work done on the front. There we go. 100%. Now, it’s up to the other teams. So, 80k to go in the stage. The breakaway are being controlled. I mean, I thought about going in the break. I thought about helping Aaron Brew, but Pagatcha in those white bib shorts. It can only mean that he wants to win the stage and the breakaway have no chance. 12 seconds later. Well, I’ve been talking down the Breaway’s chances all day, but they still have 5 minutes. And I mean, Jakob Sericist, not exactly the best climber in the world, pacing on the fronts. Maybe Aaron Buru and the Breakaway can do it. In fact, at this point, 40k to go, it’s pretty certain I would say the Breakaway are going to win this stage. Zanna Nurka, Bur and Aaron Buru, our teammate. Come on, Alex. I would love to see him in yellow. But in this Pelaton, I expected a much more selective day. We still have 100 riders here. What a kg day by the GC favorites. So, right now, we’re just following the wheels. I’m going to follow Tad Paga. I want to see what’s going on at the front. Aaron Buru has been attacked by Pipo Zana. Come on, Alex. Get back to that wheel. I don’t even care about our current group. It’s Zanna and Aaron Buru. Aaron Buru spending everything. He’s 6 seconds behind. Come on, Alex. Get to that wheel right now. 2K to go. It’s not happening. Philippo, I think, is going to win the first yellow jersey at this tour to France ahead of Aaron Buru into the final kilometer. What a day for the breakaway. Pipoana goes into yellow at the tour to France. And what on earth were the Pelaton doing today? I have to say I massively regret not going in the breakaway. Nonetheless, we will cross the line in the chasing group 6 and 1 half minutes behind Aaron Buu. Well, what can I say? It was a breakaway day in real life. It was a breakaway day in game two. Aaron Brew just missing out. And I’m gutted I didn’t join the breakaway. The minus two put me off. But even so, I could have maybe helped Alex get the yellow jersey. But 17 points for a good start to the tour to France. All hope is not lost though because into Bologna, another punchy day. Maybe for the breakaway or maybe for Aaron Buru to go into the Mayujorn. Pagatcha is the favorite, but let’s see if we can get a good race day today. Well, it’s a zero race day. Aaron Brew straight into the breakaway. I’m going to try and get through and try and join him up the roads. But right now with Zanna in yellow, Premier Techch are not happy with Aaron Brew up the road trying to take that yellow jersey. So Aaron Brew is caught. So let’s try and counter Joe Timiola attack the Joe Timiola for the first time at the tour to France. Strong group here featuring Kevin Vulcan who won this stage I think in real life. But again, we’re not allowed clear. The Pelison and Premier Tech chasing us again. But again, we’re being chased down. Let’s drop back to the Pelison. We’re just not being allowed clear today. The Breakaway had it so easy yesterday, but not today. So, unlike yesterday, this is not going to be a breakaway day. 37k to go and those two riders only have 3 and 1/2 minutes. This is coming back. So, maybe we can pull something off in the finale. One rider doesn’t have the patience though. Tibo nice has gone to try and catch the breakaway himself. My man, I think they’re going to be caught here. So, here is the finish line. Tibo Nice will cross it. He is going to be caught by the Palison Bookman still ahead. He’s cooked though. And we enter the San Luca climb in a really perfect position. Here goes Timiola to the front of this group. Let’s try and stay here over the top. Follow any moves if we can. And maybe we go after Oh, but you know what? We’re right at the front. Let’s go. Joe Timiola on the attack on the San Luca at the tour to France with that 72 hill rating and only Gregoire can follow. Well, Gregoire does follow. He marks us and we are caught over the top. Let’s take some K points and now sit up again in this group. Maybe getting in some wheels. Let’s see. Well, right now I’m following Pipo. We do have a move here of some favorites. Pagatra again not involved. He doesn’t seem to care in these first few stages, but we do recover nicely. I’m going to get in Zana’s wheel in the yellow jersey. Gregoire goes again. Who is going to control that? It’s Vanetvelt, Sexas, and Gregoire who have gone clear. We’re trying to conserve for a potential counterattack if they are caught, but only 3K to go. This is going to be a sprint. So, let’s see who’s going to win this sprint in the finale. Binium Gay going for the line. Aaron Brew, shut up my man. And Benium Gamay is going to win in Bologna ahead of Sur and Baron Gold. What a win for Biny. Okay, that was a really weird stage. The sprinters all survived. Binium Gamay gets the win ahead of Venshold. We just finished in the group behind and the GC looks absolutely wild after just two stages. I can’t get over this. I was thinking about dropping back early in the race to make sure we can go in the breakaways, but right now I want to hang around here at 6 minutes. Who knows, maybe the yellow jersey will be up for grabs. I know, I know, I’m dreaming, but if we can, let’s stay to the front for now. Anyway, the final day here in Italy and it’s Interin and it’s for the sprinters and we get a first look at Malia versus Philipsson and Jonathan Milan riding for Uno X. We do get a plus one day, but this is a nailedon sprint stage. If this is not a mass sprints and this breakaway hold on, I will be absolutely shocked. Moments later, but oh my word, what is happening? Nah, just kidding. The breakaway have been caught and we do have a sprint coming into the final 5K. I’m again just going to follow Tali Paga to remind him we will be beating him in a couple of years time. Philipsson with a godly lead out right now. Let’s see who’s going to win it though up the road. There is a split here between the Pelaton and the sprinters. It’s Philipsson versus the league. A might as well. Milan too far back and Yasper Philipsson wins by a mile here in Italy. Big sprint there by Yasper Philipsson destroying the opposition and no time gaps in the end. So, we stay in our place in the GC and Aaron Buru still is the only rider even remotely close to Pipozana. Can we get him in the yellow somehow? Well, something is going to happen here because it’s the first mountain stage at the Tour to France as we head back into France. Look at these climbs. The Cold Galibier on stage four. And I know you guys are thinking what I’m thinking. A downhill finish to the line which suits Joe Timiola to an absolute tea. Pagatcha won this stage in real life. I would like to win it though in game right now, but that is so frustrating. A minus one day for Tim Ziola. Anyway, let’s try and go in the breakaway. But Premier Techch not happy with this group. 25 riders gone clear. Aaron Brew in there. They want to keep yellow with Pipo of course. Oh my word. Williams is cooked. Williams is cooked. I’m going to try and bridge to this breakaway at the last possible minute. We’re completely cooked as well though. Come on Timiola. Get to that breakaway my man. Ay, we are in as the elastic snaps to the pelaton and this breakaway comes apart completely. I don’t believe it. And I think this is going to be a breakaway day. But riders including Aaron Buru are dropped right now. Only the likes of Onley and Gregoire at the fronts as unfortunately we are now caught by the Pelison and so is Alex Aaron Buru and I reckon that could be his yellow jersey dreams over because he is out of energy. So race update. We have recovered somewhat in this second climb of the day. We’re going to make it over. Let’s see how the Galibier goes. But up the roads at the head of the race who is leading right now. It’s Onley and Derek G. 2 minutes clear of everyone else. That breakaway have just under 6 minutes. And UEE they definitely have the firepower to close that gap if they want to. And oh boy, onto the Golibier. We have 35 riders left in the Pelaton. We’re getting dropped on 90. And we are dropped. We’re dropped. What is going on? This is the craziest start to a tour to France I can remember. So, we’re trying to get back right now, but Almeida versus Tim Ziola is not really a race I want to get involved in. And I think right now the stage win is going up the road. It’s time to give up on this one. Pagatcha, it’s his time to shine apparently. And look at what is happening on the Gibbier. We have Remco, Vingal, and Pagatcha. Three riders at the front of the race. What a stage. Over the top of the climb, here come the motos. Who is going to cross the Gibier first? It’s Vingal attacking into the descent. and some riders have come back to them. But for Timiola, this is not going to be our day. Now we’re going to drop right out of GC. Anyway, this is going to be a rapid finish into Valois. Let’s see under the Flam Rouge who’s going to win the sprints from the GC group. I don’t believe it is Rodriguez, Jorgensson, Van Wilder, Carlos Rodriguez wins it on the downhill. And we follow Benoon Connor across the line just over seven minutes back. Another really crazy day at the tour to France. Rodriguez wins for Inos in a one-two for them. Remco actually dropping time in the downhill and Pipoana finishing 33rd in yellow. But he does hold on to that yellow jersey. We were all the way back in 46th place. We’re now completely out of the GC battle at 8 minutes. So surely now we are free to go in the breakaways. The problem is we’re out of climbs for now. We have so many flat stages coming up next. So our opportunities are limited. And the first of those flat stages is stage five. Can Philipsson win again or can the likes of Milan or Malia dethrone him? We are given a plus two though and we do have two riders already in the breakway. Can we make a bridge to that group? I would love to join them on this strong day. But sadly the breakaway are gone. We are in an absolute shaspat and we are going to have to drop back to the pelaton. Good luck guys up the roads. I hope you can make something happen. Well that breakaway won’t be making anything happen. And they are officially caught right now. But I am going to put in a little attack. 2K to go to the top of this climb. We may as well try and get two points here. And here we go. Joe celebrates at the tour to France for taking two K points. That was definitely a bit of fun. But we are now about to be caught by the pelon. 5k to go now in this finale. This time instead of Pagacha’s wheel, I’m going to follow our teammate Milan Fratan trying to defend that back wheel. But Jordi Mayos in a good position. And so is that man Jonathan Milan now riding for Uno X with Afeni and Verold as leadout riders. That’s crazy. So here we go. Can our Milan do anything against Jonathan Milan into the final clumpster? There goes Ver gold. There goes Milan. Let’s take a look up the road. It’s actually going to be Jordi Mayos versus Ano Dele. And Jordi Mayos wins a tour to France stage. Yeah, not the result Milan Fatan wanted. Not the result the team wanted. But Jordy May, he gets the result he wanted. A few race updates, though. Isaac Del Toro crashed out on the first day of the race. So, he’s not here to help Pagatcha. Also, look at this. Johannes Martinson, an 18-year-old new genen from Uno X, finishing last place on the first stage. Last place again on stage two. He then finished in the final group again before DNFing with numerous other riders out the time limit on stage four. That’s a tough first tour to France. Anyway, Johannes Martinson. Who knows? Maybe he’ll be a grand tour contender one day as we sweep straight into another sprint stage, this time into Djon. Who’s going to win this one? I highly doubt it’s going to be Joe Timiola. How different our race could have been if we’d had a plus three on stage one of the race. We don’t need it today, though. But just for a second, guys, work with me. I cannot wait for the day when our attributes look like this on a plus three day as our base attributes. I can’t wait for that day. Anyway, 10K to go. There is Fretan again. Let’s take his wheel and try and protect him into this sprint. Honestly though, Jonathan Milan riding for Uno X. Such a weird sight. So, let’s see. Into the final kilometer and a half. There goes Fritan trying to follow Gumay. Philipsson. This time, Milan is leading out from the front versus Philipsson. Milan can’t hold on and Philipsson wins in green on stage six, defeating Jonathan Milan in a 1v one. Another sprint stage down and it would seem that Yasper Philipsson is the best sprinter at this race. Shooting into the lead of that green jersey competition. Next up, it’s the individual time trial 25 km. This doesn’t really impact our race, but I am really intrigued to see who will be winning the GC after this stage. Will it be Paga or could it even be Remco Apool? Anyway, Timola does get his time trial underway. Right now, our race days are not aligning. We’re getting some good race days, but I can only hope that’s promising for the final half of this race. Anyway, decent little TT effort from Tim Ziola today, and we cross the line 3 and 1/2 minutes behind Josh Tarling. Here’s Remco though. He beats Tarling by 41 seconds. What a time. Vingard 1 minute 36 behind Remco. Wow. Next up is Tad Pagata though. How close can he get to Remco? Over 1 minute down. Remco’s going into yellow here. That is indeed the case. Remco Nepal in the yellow jersey. 36 seconds ahead of Pagacha, one minute ahead of Vingard. Maybe the reigning champ could be on to double. Honestly, so far ahead of everyone else in that time trial. Anyway, where did we finish? Let’s take a look further down. Joe Timiola all the way, 4 minutes behind 112th position. Some work to do, but we’ll get there. On we go then. Another sprint stage, it looks like, even though there are a few more hills in today’s stage. And can anyone beats Yasper Philipsson? Around 40k to go then and I have to say this has not been a straightforward day. Lots of crashes, lots of riders struggling as well. We’re looking pretty fresh though. And well, considering those things, we do have a fourth cat climb coming up and who knows, maybe that could be a launch pad for a Joe Timi attack. All I know is right now the Pelaton are struggling to catch Stefan Kung and Matthew Brennan himself is pacing on the front for Vizma. So Kung is caught, but I do believe the Pelaton could be quite weak here. So coming to the top of this climb, I’m going to try something. Veron Gold though, launching Uno X and Jonathan Milan. Oh boy, look at them go. I’m going to try and follow. Milan goes off the front with his teammate Baron Gold. What is going on here? And you know what? I’m going to attack through Timola on the attack at the tour to France. 13K to go. What is happening right now? This race is in absolute pieces. We have 1 minute on the Pelaton and Uno X have two riders right behind us. Bing Gold and Jonathan Milan. There they are. So 10K to go. We have Tim Ziola off the front with Milan and Barold. I’m going to sit on his wheel. Surely we have at least a podium secured right now. Docs is in the gap. He’s going to be swept up by the Pelaton. I cannot believe what is unfolding right now. Are we going to have a showdown? Jonathan Milan sprinting against Joe Timiola. Of course, we’re not going to beat him in a sprint. It is slightly uphill, though, so you never know. You just never know. We have 1 minute 25. We’re going to podium this stage. Oh my word, I’m nervous. I am nervous. Surely, we can at least get a top two here. I want to go for the win, though. And to do that, we surely have to attack early. Can’t see an opportunity right now, though. We’re going to stay on the wheel of Jonathan Milan and hope the uphill nature of this finish helps us beat him. But we’re absolutely destroyed. Jonathan Milan is going to win the stage and Joe Zimziola rise to a very admirable second place here on stage eight. One of the weirdest stages in tour to France history. And you have to ask what on earth happened to the palace on behinds. Uno x pull a tactical masterclass. What a ride. We were the only rider to be aware of them attacking on that fourth cat climb and we finished second place on a tour to France stage. But I have to say, sprinting against Jonathan Milan is not something I want to do very often. That result does push us up to 37th place in the GC. We’re now underway in the green jersey competition and we now have five points in the KM jersey. It’s been a slow start to the race for Joe Timiola. We’re underway now though with 18 points from our manager for today’s effort. Anyways, stage nine into Tua is one of the stages I’ve really been looking forward to. It’s the Northern Classics Cobbled stage. Machu Vanderpool would be the big stage favorite here. Instead, the game has the sprinters as the favorites. I’m not sure that’s the case. Let’s find out. And by the way, if you are enjoying the tour to France, Joe Timiola’s tour to France debut. Remember to hit like down below. Really appreciate the support on the channel and subscribe if you’re new around here. And I was potentially eyeing up the breakaway today. It’s a minus one day for Tim though. And Aaron Buru up the road gets a plus three. He’s in the 11 rider breakaway. The cobbles are well and truly underway now. Only 40 riders in the pelazon after this third cat climb. 120 riders there were caught behind. The likes of Wanar, Pipogana, Niels, Pollit is behind. But one thing’s for sure, our Northern Classics upgrade is in full effect today and I love to see it. But I I right now there’s not much I can do apart from try and cling on to this group on this minus one day. Still 3 minutes for the breakaway and Alex has been dropped up the roads. But look at this. on the gravel, on the cobbled roads at the Tour to France? This is an absolute joy to see. By the way, guys, let me know what you think in the comments below. Do graveled or cobbled stages belong in a grand tour? Let me know what you think in the comments below. Ay, big moment right here because Tad Pagatcha punches on this sector. Could anyone capitalize here? Here he is. Pagatcha in my group behind the yellow jersey pelon right now, but I don’t think they have enough firepower and this group is going to come back. And right now 36k to go. We are not going to challenge for this stage obviously. So I’m going to protect Milan Fratan for as long as I can now. And there you go. That’s all we have. Fretan goes up the road. That’s all we’ve got today. But what an epic stage this is of the tour to France because up the road right now Remco Evan is attacking. Pagata is in the wheel. So is Mads Pettison. And the three of them have gone clear. Wingard has been dropped. And at the front there’s Remco Pagata. The likes of Walt Venat fighting for the stage. Arno Dele is there as well. Who’s going to win the sprints? What an epic stage this has been. And Mads Pedison beats Tad Pagatcha as only seven riders finished together at the front. Oh boy. And let me tell you, I cannot wait until the day we are able to fight at the front in these races. Absolute carnage here at the Tour to France. Tali Pagacha, Removal, and Matteo Jorgensson rise to the top of the GC. Vingard over two minutes back now, but Maz Pedison takes victory. And for us, we are 62nd place over 6 minutes down, but that was so fun nonetheless. Anyway, after that, we head back to the sprint stages and another sprint stage with a little hill in the finale. Who knows, maybe I’ll team up with the Uno X boys again. 14K to go then. This is indeed going to be a pretty straightforward sprint stage. And I’m again trying to make friends with the Uno X boys. So 5K to go. Is Milan Fratan trying to follow me? I really hope he isn’t because I can’t lead out, buddy. So, I’ll go 99. Put in a little shift on the front right now for Milan Fratan. Let’s see, though. Let’s get in his wheel into the final 3K. Can Fatan have an impact on this finale? Into the final one and a halfk. Fatan going early. Now, we have a corner, but Milan being led out perfectly. Here comes Philipsson. Who’s going to win this one? Yasper Philipsson again. This time beating Olaf Koi Fetan there or thereabouts. But Philipsson is the best sprinter right now. No doubt about it. Yasper Philipser is the best sprinter in the world right now in this playthrough. I think that’s a hat-tick for him already. And that is where we are going to leave today’s episode, guys. Not going to lie, our first tour to France has been a bit of a baptism by fire so far. We didn’t quite capitalize on those early stages that did suit us and then we had that crazy second place behind Jonathan Milan of Uno X. Anyway, the good news is there are plenty of climbs coming in the next few weeks which will suit us a lot more. Couple of transitional days as well. I’ve got my eye on that stage 18. I reckon that could be our day because winning in the high mountains right now is going to be very difficult indeed. Big shout out to the channel members. Thank you for the support on the channel.
