Had this bike for five years and have often used baby wipes for quick cleaning of the frame. I just moved to the UK and bought a new brand (still 0% alcohol), and found that it began stripping this coating from my frame. I had no idea this coating was even on the frame. I assume it's just a protective layer against chemicals,scratches, etc. Needles to say I'll stick to light dish soap and water for post ride wipedowns. Welcome any insights on this layer, including whether it's worthwhile to reapply something to where it peeled off.
