Hey everyone, Gilos trains here. I’m about to make me way to my favorite place in the whole wide world, Cardiff. So, I am going to be catching the trains to get me down there today, where I’ll then be staying over in a hotel for a few nights. And of course, I will be having lots of fun during my time there. I can’t wait for this trip. Let’s go get to Cardiff. like you would watch the days go byast. [Music] All righty. So, my final destination for this journey is Cardiff Bay. I’m going to be riding four trains to get there. One operated by Avanti West Coast and the other three by Transport for Wales. First up, it’s the 0931 Avanti West Coast service. I’ve just seen it’s a nine coacher. So, I’m hoping it’s not going to be too busy, but I am going to be on this train from Wigan Northwestern to crew. I did just get an offbeat single for this first part of the journey. It cost me 12 quid with a rail card. Do you know I can get an advanced single from here to Glasgow for eight quid? But anyways, the second ticket I’m traveling on today, which will cover the three other trains, I got in a sale and it was a brilliant price. But I’ll talk more about that once I’m at Crow. [Music] Well, I just checked on my ticket and I do have a reserve seat in Coach F. So yeah, just made my way to that and I think I’m actually going to go down to the shop in coach C and get myself a coffee because I do need an Avanti West Coast cup to add to my train cup collection. And also I believe I can get this for free as well because I did recently sign up to Club Avanti and you do get a free hot drink. Thank you very much. We Let’s check back down to Coach F. I’ve only got about 10 more minutes on this train now. So, the cups of Antidoo are these change please ones. And it does say on the back, 100% of Change Please profits helps people experiencing homelessness by training them to become baristas. That’s brilliant. We’re now approaching crew. When leaving us here, make sure you have all your luggage and belongings with you, and please mind the step down to the platform. [Music] The half an hour on that pendolino absolutely flew by then. But I’m now here at Crew where you can have a poo, but I don’t need one. And I have got an hour and 10 minutes to wait now until my next train. I could have caught the Avanti West Coast service an hour later to get me to crew, but it would have only given me 10 minutes to change over and yeah, I didn’t really want to risk that. Right, let’s go get over to platform 6. It’ll be that me next train’s going off. I’ve got pig well, a coffee, and a suitcase to carry over with me. And I’ve got a bag in me hand that I need to get rid of. Okay, so about this next ticket I’m traveling on. Then TFW did a 50% off first class ticket sale a few weeks back and as soon as I saw it, I was like, “Yep, there’s me excuse right there to get back down to Cardiff. So for a standard class advanced single on this service, it would have cost me £25.70 with a rail card, but for first class, it cost £2160. I mean, it’s a no-brainer to go first class when it’s cheaper than standard class, right? And uh I’m hoping I’m going to be able to get a bit of breakfast on there, you know, maybe a porridge, my favorite uh meal to have on a train that porridge is. But with it being the 1110 service off of crew, not too sure if they’ll serve breakfast or not. I mean, it does leave Manchester at 10, so you’d think it would. We’ll soon find out. All righty. I’m on the train now. Of course, it’s a class 67 and MarkV coach set. And to be honest, I expected it to be a little bit busier in first class with that sale that was going on. Uh but yeah, there’s loads of seats free. I have got over two and a half hours on this train now through to Cardiff Central. I swear you never seen that one. Only once. Okay, so the host has just been down and handed out menus. They did hand out an all day They did hand out an all day bites menu, but I did ask them, can I have a breakfast menu? And they very kindly gave me one. So yeah, porridge it is. Get in there. Got myself an orange juice and a cup of coffee. I’m not going to wear. Oh, thank you so much. Okay. My favorite. That porridge. I love it. Honestly, I can’t get enough of it. I’m really slow when these kind of things. Nom. [Music] And we are now doing the hokeie koke between England and Wales. In out, in out. Shake it all about. I want to shout it out to the world. You got me all spinning. I’m crazy for love. [Music] We’re just pulling into the penultimate stop of Newport now. Not got long left on this train. Going to take just over 10 minutes uh to get to Cardiff. And I’ve got to remember as well to get me suitcase down. I’m not used to bringing a suitcase along with me when I’m out on the trains these days. Now into Cardiff Central where this service terminates. Change Cardiff Central. Next stop. And here I am at my favorite place. A smile does always emerge on me face. That rhymed uh when I step off the train at Cardiff Central. And I will just say as I usually do, the staff on this train were absolutely lovely. They always are on TFW. And my next train’s pulled in here on platform six. I’m doing a short hop from Central to Que Straight. I’ll see you later. Have a great day. You too. Well, that was a very short ride on that class 756 flirt there, but I am going to make me way over to platform two. Ready, if I can say it. Ready for the Cardiff Bay service. Got about 15 minutes to wait now until me final train. And I’ll tell you what as well, it is hot down here in Cardiff. It’s currently about 33 degrees C, I think. So, yeah, I’m going to wait in this shelter here in the shade. I’ll uh get me sunglasses out as well. Thank you. And I’m off along the Cardiff Bay branch line. It’s going to be my favorite branch line this one. Mainly because well it’s in Cardiff. But I am excited to see uh what Cardiff Bay station is looking like. I think the new platforms are open there now. I think I’ll be finding out in a couple of minutes. And also I’m looking forward to seeing how But Station is coming along. Looks like there’s a little bit of work still to do at Town. I wonder when it’s going to open though. I’ll be back now when it does. and final station. Well, this is very interesting to have a look at. And for some reason, I was under the impression that two new platforms were being built here at Cardiff Bay. But it looks as though a new platform 2 has been built, which is forming an island with the old platform. And yeah, it looks like they’re doing work on that at the moment. Uh, no trains are currently using platform one. They’re all using the new platform 2. But yeah, this station is a lot bigger now. Right. So, I’m going to go and get checked into my hotel. And here’s where I’m staying. Futureins. Now, I always used to stay at this hotel when I came down for me holidays, but for the past several years, I have been trying out different hotels, and I thought, do you know what? This time, it’d be great to stay at this future in again. So, here I am. Oh, it smells well nice in here. And I tell you what, this is taking me back. Yeah, it does feel great to be back staying in this hotel again. And do you know what? And thinking back, I’ve just said the word back so many times, but back to when I used to stay here, I’m sure I always got given rooms on the fourth floor, and they were always facing that way, and the bed was always facing this way. Maybe this is just where all the double rooms are. I’ll do a quick room tour. So, immediately to my left as I enter is the bathroom. Got a bath shower here, sink area. Oh, there’s the same body wash and shampoo and little soap as the last time I stayed here. Oh, it’s lovely to see that again. But you may be wondering, where is the toilet? Well, it’s actually behind this door. Separate room for toilet. Back through into the bedroom. There’s a full length mirror for check yourself out. Loads of storage space in here. Got a few sets of drawers and wardrobe here. Of course, there is a double bed. There is a sofa. Well, sofa bed, but obviously I don’t need the bed. And over on the other side, there is the desk. Got a TV on it. Another mirror there. Teas, coffees, hair dryer. And you know what? They used to give out bottles of water in the rooms. Maybe they’ve stopped that. But what’s the view like? Well, it’s a familiar view for me. This one of the road. And oh, look. I never even noticed this last time I stayed here. All the time before. All the time before. Well, you can see that body of water there. What is that called now? I’ve just checked. Mute East Dock. I don’t even think I knew the name of that. Thought I did. Oh, I’ve just seen this. Instead of the bottles of water, they must be doing this now. Fill me up in lift lobby. Must be a uh water thingy my bobs out there. Yeah, it is a lovely hotel this one. I do really enjoy staying here. And for this double room I paid it averaged out about 75 quid per night. Ret I am going to not fully unpack because I never do that when I stay in hotels, but I will do a slight unpack and just have a few minutes to cool off as well before I head back out. [Music] Oh jeez, it really is hot out here. I’m a cut through the Red Dragon Center. And there’s a view I love to see when I arrive on holiday here. Well, it’s more of a filming holiday this year, but yeah, got Torchwood Central ahead, as I like to call it. [Music] I am going to have to try and find somewhere that sells sun cream cuz I didn’t think to bring any down with me. And yeah, it’s definitely the hottest it’s ever been during one of my visits. Um, and of course with it being summer, there is a fun fur on here at Raldar Plus. And I am also definitely gonna have to go on that big wheel again. I fell in love with it when I went on it last year. I think I’ll go on after I’ve had mitty. Oh yes, get a load of this flowing water. You can see why I love the place. And this is where I’m eating tonight, the Cozy Club. It’s pretty fancy in this place. And this food looks amazing. I’ve just got myself this Thai green tofu curry. Can’t wait to eat it. I enjoyed that curry and it’s time now for me to get on this big wheel. Thank you. Well, I’ve got the big wheel to myself. I am totally going to be going on this every time I’m down here in Cardiff now. I absolutely love it. Look at the views from the top here. A so beautiful. Honestly, shall I have a spin round? I’m getting ready for bed now and to be honest I am a little bit giddy right now. I am very excited to be back down here in Cardiff and yeah it’s been a brilliant day today. I’ve really enjoyed all the conversations I’ve had as well. I have chatted to quite a few people. Re thank you very much watching this. The vlog’s not over yet. I’m only going to bed. Night night. Sleep tight. Don’t let the but dock east bite. That’s one way to remember the name of that water. That is the name of it. Right. morning. I had a cracking sleep last night. I thought I was going to be awake for a while with me being so giddy. But yeah, me plan for today is basically to spend the day chilling around the bay. I am going to start off by going to get some breakfast. And also something that’s got to be done now every time I’m down here is a walk along the Cardiff Bay Trail. So I will do that afterwards. I’ve come to the Mount Stewart for me breakfast and this is my favorite weather spoons. Not just because it’s at Cardiff Bay, but because it is the most beautiful spoons I’ve been to so far. I’ve come and sat myself outside. The only person out here, but I’ve got a view overlooking the bay. Oh yeah, really is beautiful. Blime me. It must have been only a minute since I ordered and my meal has arrived. That was very quick. Right, let’s go have this walk. I think I’ll go grab a coffee. Thank you. I did buy some sun cream from the little Tesco’s yesterday and I made sure to put some on before. Not that the sun’s out, it isn’t going to be as hot today as it was yesterday, but it’s still due to reach a maximum temperature of 26° C. I think it’s about 21° at the moment. I did actually just pop back and get me jacket in case I needed it cuz it was feeling a little bit chilly, but yeah, as I’ve started this walk now, it is starting to feel warm. So I am going to be walking from the bay down to the barrage and slightly into pen. Yeah, it is my favorite walk this one. It’s my favorite everything around here. Right. [Music] Hello crocodile. [Music] I do miss riding the next bikes. You know, I think I said last year that I’ll bring me bike down, but obviously I brought me suitcase down this year. So maybe next year I’ll bring a bike down cuz yeah, it is great fun riding a bike along here as well. I am nearing the barrage now. But before I walk across it, I am going to head down to this viewpoint over here. You can see Penath here. I think technically I am in Pen now. You can see Pen Pier there and then there’s views out across the seven eststerary. It’s always scary walking across these grids. It’s gone 1:00 already. Time is flying by. I’m going to eat a sandwich and then I’m going to catch the Aquabuzz boat back to the bay. Usually I would just walk back, but well I rode an Aqua Buzz boat uh from Cardiff Bay to the city center last year and I remember thinking I will have to try out the Penath one at some point. So yeah, I may as well do it now. I’m guessing it’s down there I have to go to wait for the boat. So, it costs seven quid for a one-way ticket and it’s card payments only. Oh, it’s hot on here. It’s very quiet though and it’s going to take about 25 minutes to get back across to the bay. Yeah, I’m going to enjoy this. And also there is commentary on here. I did not expect that. Well, that was a fun ride on the Enterprise of Cardiff. And it didn’t take 25 minutes that it’s more like 15. But I have been dropped off now here um just near Yanto Shrine. And I will pop and have a little look at that. Well, time has passed by. I had a yummy burger not too long ago from Hubbox, and I’m now just here by the flowing water waiting to watch the sunset. I want to shout it out. You got me all spinning. I’m crazy for love. Crazy love. Crazy. I’m up a little earlier today for no other reason other than I want to be one of the first to get down for the breakfast buffet. I do love a good hotel breakfast buffet. me. I have no idea how much the one at Futurin costs because I added it on when I was checking in, but I haven’t been charged for it yet. But yeah, the breakfast starts at 6. I’m going to aim to get down there for between 7 and half 7. [Music] That was lovely jubbly. And the restaurant was very quiet, which is what I was after. But I am off now to have a walk. Yep, another walk. I do love me walks. And this is another one that I do enjoy doing when I’m down in Cardiff. I’m going to have a wonder along the Taff Trail, but I’m going to start in the city center. So, I’m just making my way to Cardiff Bay station to catch a train to Cardiff Que. It’s the 10:26 service I’m waiting on. I did wait until it had gone 10:00 a.m. So, I only had to pay 225 for an anytime return ticket. Ah, look, there’s more information displays right at the end of the platforms. It’s a very short ride on this 150. This is one of the shuttle services just from the bay to Queen Street cuz yeah, lots of the trains from Cardiff Bay go on through to Ponty Fri. Now we pulled in on platform one, the Cardiff Bay shuttle platform. I’m going to head towards Sophia Gardens and then get down next to the river Taff from there. I’m just walking across Cardiff Bridge. Got the river down there. And yeah, that path is what I’m after. So, I am going to be following alongside the flowing water until I reach Black WA. It should take about half an hour to get there. So, yeah, it’s not too long of a walk, but I would love one day to walk the entirety of this Taff trail. It starts at Cardiff Bay and runs for 55 miles to Breen. I have walked little sections of it here and there in the past, but yeah, it would be fun to walk the whole thing and it probably would take me several days to do so. [Music] Oh my days, it’s raining. Where’s that summery weather gone? [Music] And here I am. Would you look at that fast flowing water? Ah, beautiful, isn’t it? Right. I’m a cross over Blackwear Bridge and then circle back around to the city center and try and get out this rain. Ah, look. I’m in park now. I’m back around near the castle now. I am going to pop to the cafe in here. See if I can get myself one of these tasty jacket potatoes. They do. Nom nom. This has got to be the best jacket potato meal I’ve ever had. I’m so glad I had that. That was proper yummy. [Music] [Music] I did end up doing a bit of shopping in the center then and I am going to try to get an early night as I am up early tomorrow. I’m off to Pemrookshire and I am going to film a separate vlog of that trip and then the day after I’m going to be checking out and heading back up north. And I’m out of here. I don’t want to be leaving. I want to have another day around the bay and another and another and another. But something I am looking forward to doing today is riding another TFW Premier service because I’m going to be having a free course dinner on the train. I’ll be leaving me happy place in style. Yeah, I do love Cardiff me. And of course, I will be back down here next year. Until then, thank you very much for watching everyone. Fuzzy boys. Fuzzy boys. Cardiff.

Your enthusiasm for the city I call home is amazing G!
I know if you book direct it makes you change at Crewe, but have you ever done end-to-end? I usually find it more convenient (when the 67 doesn't break down at Crewe to be replaced by a 2 car 150/2). I sometimes travel up to The Lake District so prefer the end-to-end services for both.
Jesus Yashu God bless ⛪⛪⛪⛪🎄🎄🎄🎄❤❤❤
Great video, again you pack so much into your time, hope you enjoy Pembrokeshire it's lovely.
❤Cardiff ❤🏴
I went to university in Cardiff (2016-2020) but had to leave in a hurry before lockdown. In another world, I might have stayed and still be living/working there! It was lovely to see it through someone else's eyes, and see what has changed in the last five years!
Great to see you came down to Cardiff again G. I'm also excited about Butetown opening, which will become my new nearest station. A worker told me this morning that they're finishing the platforms in November.
One of the best we loved it,😢no knicker hooks review

That’s been my favourite vlog so far, great to see how much enjoyment you get from travelling.
Great video again, Cardiff is a great place to visit well done 👍👍✅✅
You had a short break in Cardiff. Meanwhile, I had a weekend in Wigan a few days ago.
You leave your phone on charge in your room then get back and it hasnt charged bc the leccy goes off when you remove the card. Om goooooood that'd drive me maaad.
Brilliant vlog! I came down to Cardiff back in May and it's quite nice around there! 🙂
I will be going back down there at some point to redo a train journey that went wrong that day. So I might drop by Cardiff Bay once I get back down. 👍
I loved you not complaining about no window ❤
Welcome to Wales 😎✅🏴 a very good video. Time it right during the summer and you get the Cardiff Bay Food & Drink festival….well worth a visit 😎✅
28:53 no way you polished that whole plate including the jacket potato skins?? Good Lord! 😲😂
Cardiff bay is very attractive with a lot of facilities in and around, for example the big wheel experiment looks amazing to me so do the others. The estuary is another wonder to take a glimpse during the stay. I think you seemed to be happy with what you had in Cardiff though the train journeys by 4 separate trains were hectic taking hours from the starting point to Cardiff. I only found the payment for that double hotel room a bit expensive compared with other city hotels. Thank you for every effort of making this incredible trip.
Awesome x
was good to see you on Crewe Station as you waited for ur train to Cardiff, also vart good video.
