It’s winter—or early spring so we don’t see it during the high tourist season where it’s completely overrun by tourists 😢
I live 20 km from Annecy and I love this city in winter during the week when it's not too crowded like of the video. In summer it's hellish, too many tourists and because of that, this city has become too expensive. Unlike Paris or the French Riviera, Haute Savoie in the eyes of our politicians is not considered an expensive department, so salaries are not in line with local purchasing power unless you work in Switzerland, or if you are a senior executive, or from the local bourgeoisie. So Swiss, British, Americans, Chinese, Saudis, Qataris etc… come and support our traders in the old town of Annecy, because many of us no longer go there and prefer Aix les Bains or Chambéry.

ive been watching videos like this for years and all of sudden it occurred to me…wheres the places in america getting showcased like this? unfortunately too much of our old architecture has been lost but theres still plenty of picturesque places
