In this episode, I am riding further into the North of Wales – but the track turns out to be a lot harder than I anticipated. A lot harder.

See the bike is there There This is already a really steep track And it’s full of huge loose rocks Then it continues like this But then the problem Pennmaenpool, Wales Good morning Internet, it is 7:10 in the morning and welcome back to the channel Welcome here to Wales It is a gorgeous, gorgeous morning I’m just having a coffee right now, uh but I don’t have any food here So I’m going to go and ride to the next village to try and find a breakfast somewhere But I thought let’s first just enjoy a coffee outside I didn’t sleep so well last night because all the time I was worried that somebody was going to come and steal my bike again And the bike was right outside of my window, so the whole night I was kind of listening if I didn’t hear anyone But now I just have to get back in the mode, generally people will not try to steal your bike That has to be the main thought right? Anyway I’m really excited about today because I’m going to a very stunning part of Wales I think, so I’m super excited. So I’m going to have my coffee, I’ll show you on a map what the plan is for today Pack up and go Okay, let’s look at my route This is where I am now and today I’m first going to explore this part of Northern Wales And then I’m going to ride out of Wales back into England and all the way down here to Bristol Bye little hut So it’s a very different style of
houses here right? In this part of Wales Like compared to the Cotswolds Very different Okay, let me see Should be a bakery somewhere here. Ah here it is Ooh This looks all really good I have a bun with tons of bacon All right That breakfast will keep me going for a while So the area that I’m riding in is called
Snowdonia I don’t know there’s just something magical about that name already It feels like a cross between Narnia and Snow White And it’s also really pretty like these forests are just so lush You can just tell there is a lot of rainfall here But luckily not today See all the moss as well growing on the rocks here Wow Now there’s just something about this type of vegetation And all the moss that just makes it look so special right? Wow Got some mountains in front, oeh Hey little one Rocks are very loose Wah Yes! Oh This is a bit difficult There is a hill there Maybe I should check it out The track became uh.. Not very easy But I just see a hill climb there that.. I don’t know it looks like a rock wall from here Oh no! No this hill is a big no See the bike is there There This is already a really steep track And it’s full of huge loose rocks Then it continues like this But then the problem is there’s literally
no way I can get up there Even on a light enduro this is not easy Let alone with my setup No, this is a no I have to turn back All I have to do now is turn the bike around Step one complete How the heck did I get past here? Oh, that track was much harder than it looked Even this bit. I don’t know it’s so
loose Time to find another way You know that’s the thing, I often am
disappointed if I have to turn back But now because I had to turn back Ooh, there’s a falcon or some sort of bird of prey Yeah, now I’m riding a different
route that I wouldn’t have seen otherwise So.. Everything has its pros and cons Hey Looks like here they changed this telephone box They made it into a little library It’s time to do another free book dropping then I got one book right there Ooh, it’s starting to rain A little Let’s be quick So anyone who wants a free copy of
my book You can find it here Shall I hide it a little bit I’ll just put it here Right there In this telephone box Where am I? What’s this place called? No name Ganllwyd I don’t know how to pronounce it, Ganllwyd in Wales Whoever gets here first.. can pick up a free copy The weather here is so funny right? It was super sunny this morning and actually the whole day Was predicted very nice weather And now it’s just raining Just like that No problem But a guy who I met in London in Dartford He was actually talking about something called nice rain I was like what do you mean he’s like “Well you know sometimes you have
nice rain it’s not so bad.” So they do kind of categorize the rain here Which I find pretty adorable I’m now in a place called Beddgelert Oh, look how cute this is Really pretty Look how beautiful From here I have a very nice view of the valley And then right there is the lake, I just passed This is a very nice route ’cause it’s kind of just hugging the mountain on this side And all the time I can see the valley and then the mountains on the other side Wow! Getting better and better Oh, I am loving this It’s beautiful And now just cutting straight through the mountains Look how pretty it is. There’s a small creek there There we go welcome to.. Er hm That’s it Slow, do it slow Okay There you go Welcome to.. Isn’t the Welsh language gorgeous hey? In one point in this place there are four L’s in a row Who comes up with that? So this is the name of this place and it translate to St Mary’s Church in the hollow of the white hazel Near a rapid whirlpool and the church of St. Tysilio Near the red cave Very detailed description of where this place is So that officially makes this the longest place name in the world So congratulations Wales Very impressive I can only do the last bit the co go goh I got that Beginning.. very difficult This is a cool bridge Should have a view You see that right there? That is an aqueduct and not just any aqueduct A really special one Okay, how do I pronounce this place? Pontcysyllte All right Pontcysyllte The aqueduct is just over 300 meters long. It’s about 3 and a half meters wide And the four pillars that are actually in the river, the deepest ones are 38 meters tall And the opening of the aqueduct was in 1805 and it took 10 years to build So it’s 220 years old now and at the
time the cost of building it was £47,000 That was the aqueduct It was really cool. There was just a little boat passing That was really fun to see ‘Cause yeah, it’s still in use This also means that I am about to leave Wales The border between Wales and England is very near from here So this was really the last place in Wales Already I’m heading back into England On my way to Bristol where I have some very fond memories Welcome to England! As it turns out Not only the Welsh are good in creating unpronouncable names in England they’re also pretty good at it Because I am now in a place which should be called Worcester But for some reason the English have decided that no this is pronounced as Worcester And I only know this name from the sauce You know so that’s then pronounced Worcestershire sauce Although I would say Worcestershire sauce Sorry I’m just looking for a good place to park It’s now 3:20 Definitely past lunchtime already So I’m going to look for something to eat With the sauce You know I want to have a dish that’s made with Worcestershire sauce Okay, I’m just going to park here then Okay, well you’re not going to believe this they’ve run out of Worcestershire sauce They ran out! How can you run out of Worcestershire sauce in Worcester Very disappointing I said “Well if you don’t have any Worcestershire sauce Or any dishes with it, I’m not having it.” It’s an hour and.. an hour and 15 minutes to Bristol I am in Bristol This is home for tonight I’m on the rooftop in a caravan I have a pretty cool view Look at that And then this is my little caravan! Very cute I can work here Do I have power? That’s a good one though Yes there Perfect And you haven’t seen the best yet I can keep an eye on the bike from here Yeah, so there’s always people here and then they lock that gate at at night So should be pretty fine I couldn’t like really tie the bike to anything ‘Cause I couldn’t park like against
the fence there So it’s just like this but should be fine, should be fine So that means I’m going to end this video now That was it for today I absolutely love my ride through Wales today I hope you enjoyed it too, if you did Please give a big thumbs up. 1. I'm 68, and Noraly has inspired me so much that I am thinking of getting my passport renewed, buying a bike and taking off!!! And then I think of my arthritic bones taking a beating, my inability to get a bike out of huge mud puddles like I've seen her do, etc and I decided, No, I think I'll cancel the idea of ME going, and just keep watching Noraly!!

  2. Weld is a beautiful place, and the Welsh are great people. I married one and lived there several years, even learning Welsh.
Concerning that hill where you had to turn back, I think you probably shouldn’t have been there on your bike. The clue are the closed gates.

  3. @8:00 bravo for turning around and not trying it. Youth and inexperience often leads to people getting stuck and/hurt because they won’t accept it’s beyond their capabilities. Now that I’m old, turning around is almost always the right choice ❤

  4. im late to the show but i was just thinking when this started. if you dont want your bike stolen, dont go to bristol. its absolutely rife down there at the moment. then you said youre going to bristol lol

  5. Bike thieves are scum and smarter then you think, I have had bikes stolen and am a bike courier on the fast food delivery platforms all the other couriers in my town experience this. They sometimes work in gangs one researches the victim online the other steals the bike the other befriends the victim to black mail them to get money off them, it is a common tactic.

  6. thats the reason why i like my "old school , royal enfield 500 cc stealth black — the "hippopatamus look " very much as it is very important for me to see where the front wheel of my bike is going , in a bike such as yours which have a "hood" infront and you cant see where the front wheel of the bike is going it gets very hard to handle or navigate ! but anyways still like your spirit for adventure noraly ! respects and salutes from a "veteran biker 57 yrs old , from india ! i also do ride or rather say cruise on my above stated bike ! before this one i had a much more lighter bike in my 20`s known as yahama rx 100 , i loved it and it was also a very powerful bike too — though less in CC but then it was much more easier to do "wheelies " and other stunts on it , and it could just go to any kind of routes ! well those were my young days and i made the most of it till i could , aye ?

  7. So sorry you had just a bad experience in Swansea, has a fella bike raider and from Wales hopefully you Will enjoy the rest what Wales has to offer.
    Love your journey.

  8. Absolutely loving your videos! Just wanted to share though that I think the longest name of a place in the world is Bangkok’s real name which is: Krung Thep Maha Nakhon Amon Rattanakosin Mahinthara Ayuthaya Mahadilok Phop Noppharat Ratchathani Burirom Udomratchaniwet Mahasathan Amon Piman Awatan Sathit Sakkathattiya Witsanukam Prasit

Anyway, on a more important note, you are inspiring me to follow my dream of passing my bike license and having similar adventures across the world. Thanks ❤

  9. So just been to the phone box to see if your box is still there its not, what a shame I had my fingers crossed. Given you a shout on my new youtube channel. Maybe one day it will get replaced for another finder haha. Take care Paul

  10. You’re actually closer to most pronunciations than you’d think, such as Worcester and Worcestershire sauce.
It’s our regional accents that probably throw you, when you’re a local to any region, it’s quite common.
