Edinburgh, meet your new bike. I’m Louis. I’m a cyclist and I’m here to have a shot of Edinburgh’s brand new rental bikes. London, Amsterdam, and Glasgow all have them. And now it’s Edinburgh’s turn. Swedish company Voy has launched 50 electric bikes across the city. In the 8 square km area, you can travel from Hollywood to Hay Market and everywhere in between. But it’s not the first time you were able to rent bikes in the capital. The last scheme launched in 2017 collapsed due to maintenance and vandalism costing the council 1.8 million. Some folks were even throwing the bikes in the water of Leaf. If this new scheme takes off, there could be 800 bikes on the streets by December. Well, I thought they were good. Will you give them a shot?
