So, welcome to my first video. I’m going to uh take you all on a quick journey about an hour, two hours maybe there and back. Going to go along uh Route 55. Hope the sound quality isn’t too bad with the wind. Uh shouldn’t really get much roll from tires. I did have you on handlebars on the last last attempt at filming this, but uh I didn’t like the the sound quality too much. So, figured I’ll reshoot. Sorry about me breathing. I’m a little bit unhealthy. So, this is the start. Bookshore village from where I am. Anyway, uh yeah, enjoy. So, this is the start to Cordan from the Bookshore village side. Multiple entrances. Some in Whittle, some in Claytonly Woods, some towards Bambber Bridge. Uh really nice country park. Little bridge here. Try to get over that. [Music] Sorry if my breathing’s horrendous, people. I’ll uh learn to breathe a bit better all the time. Just got some cycling shorts. Absolute uh lifesavers. So much more comfy. Don’t feel any kind of chaking or anything. highly recommend getting yourself some. I was a bit self-conscious, but what I’ve done is just worn them and worn some gym shorts over the top. Uh yeah, comfort to the max now. Get a nice breeze anyway. Uh yeah, lots of farmland around here going around Jordan’s kind of area. This area anyway. Uh yeah, it’s Bonnie. If you’re not from around here, you decide to visit the area, I recommend coming up the camera. Cracking view, isn’t it? Church looks magnificent from here. You can see uh another one on the other side of Cordon, which is a lot better. High steeple on it. Very old building. Yeah. And then this is where I’ll be going down here down there. We’re going to be heading to Preston today. Uh starts a new job Saturday. So I’m going to have a bit of a test ride, plan my route for the most efficient one. [Music] Yeah, we’ll just see how we get on. A little bit about myself. I was a chef for a number of years. Uh it’s a good little career. I do recommend it to people, but felt like I needed a bit of a change. Kept getting a bit stressed out. Kept getting me down. So, I figured got to make a change and do something different. Uh sometimes a little change in life can make a massive difference. So, figured why not. Yeah. So get a good view here of whereabouts I am. Bookshaw village, Whitley Woods and Preston, Route 55. [Music] And it’s just up the road here. Works going on down here now. Uh probably about time. Little bits of it do need a bit of maintenance. Oh, that wind’s not too bad. So, I’ve recently made a few upgrades to my bike. Uh, put new tires on, butterfly bars, bought a new seat. [Music] Do a touch of roaring learning. So, the bike itself I bought maybe a month ago now. It’s cracking bike. It’s from 1991. Thank you, lovey from 1991 the Rally Royal. I’ll show you in a little bit. Introduce myself a bit better. Uh I’ll call the bike Remy. Reason being afternoon. Reason being is it’s going to take me all over in Erie. From here I want to go up to Scotland and then depending on how I handle that I want to ride back down to Land’s End. So Jon to Land’s End. Uh it’s a recommended journey. A lot of people have done it and a bloke in this park actually called Isaac few weeks ago and he was on on his way to doing it. I think he were on his fifth, sixth day, something like that, he said. I don’t know. I could have could have misheard. Real guy though, really sound. Uh, yeah. So, figured I’ I’d have a crack at it myself. Don’t know if this bike’s going to be suitable or not. I do love it either way. This is the uh main section of Jordan Valley Country Park. Quite a few little features to it. Some are old, some are new. I won’t show you every little bit. Not today. Anyway, I’ll do it in a separate video if people are interested. I’m reckoning that wind noise is proper bad. So, this part’s actually from the bur of Lancasher. Town Seal Lancaster. Hey, gorgeous already, mate. Yeah. So, as I saying, from the bureau of Lancaster, uh from Lancaster this from a little town called Charley. It’s where me heart is. My favorite place in the world is Lancasher, specifically Charing. I love all of Britain. Uh slowly depending on the following I get, I’m going to take us around the whole of Britain. And uh well, regardless of the following I get, I’m going to do it just whether I put it on YouTube or not in it. But hopefully I get a bit of the following. And uh I can use my following to make a bit of money for charity cuz I think the Northwest Northwest of England’s one of the worst places for charity donations in the UK. I proper sympathize with the old people. I often get told that I’m an old man in a young man body. So, I want to do it for the elderly, probably dementia and Alzheimer’s, maybe for the Salvation Army. I do have a little bit of a soft spot for them. They’ve helped me out in life when uh I fell on really hard times. And I might have said thank you and everything, but I don’t think you quite enough sometimes. Yeah. So, [Music] thank you. Afternoon. So, this is quite an interesting little place. They’ve got uh little picnic benches around where they’re going in a minute. They have metal plates on them where you can grab barbecues in the summer. You look at that. I don’t know if you’ll be able to see. Stop and pull over for a second and show you proper. Got a little cafe up there. Never really been actually. I probably should give it a go at some point. Heard very mixed things about it to be fair, but shouldn’t believe anything until you hear it from the horse’s mouth. Is uh an old saying in England, isn’t it? So, when I’ve started my new job and I got a bit of money, that’s exactly what I’ll do. I’ll go and uh give it a try. quite eco eco-friendly I believe [Music] afternoon. So here’s a little bit of a pond. I’ll stop and show you. Uh we got tadpoles in there in the moment. I believe frog spawn. Uh my mom used to hate frost spawn when I I had a pond in my back garden. Used to get absolutely overloaded with things. Uh, obviously it’s going to happen, in it, but the frogs eventually kept breaking into house and it’s been all over. [Music] Have a look. Not much in it now. Couple of weeks ago, a week or two ago, there was see some bird eggs in there actually. It’s a shame. Oh well. circle of life, isn’t it? So, this is all the stuff that visits or lives there. My f one of my favorite animals, if not my favorite, this I love ducks. Uh think they’re brilliant. Love all all animals really. Yeah. So, how are pal? I’m going to switch you off for two. Actually, I’ll wait. I’ll show you these this little picnic area up towards me right now. So, up that embankment up there, the reservoir quite pretty on me way back. I’m going to try and get home to meet the Mrs. on a break from work. Uh something I do like to do. I like to spend time with her. person ever treats me like an absolute king and I do proper cherish her. kind of funny way of showing it at times, I guess. But I mean, doesn’t everyone I once heard the uh saying that if you don’t have fire in your belly, you ain’t loving them right or they ain’t loving you right. And say a lot of times we have a lot of fire. But I do have a lot of love for the girl. So it is something I want to be home for. I do have time though. I’ll take us up there. and I’ll show you or I’ll I’ll go afterwards once she’s gone back to work and we’ll uh we’ll have a look then. As I said, this is National Route 55. [Music] [Music] Stoked to go and see a a little handmade hut that people made out of sticks. It’s a bit like a fish. Came across it last week. I like stuff like that myself. Thank you, darling. [Music] So yeah, as I saying, little thought uh I like stuff like myself. I think there’s a places to build them, if you will, or that that could be one of them, I guess. Sometimes people build them in stupid places and uh we should be knocked down really. But hey, what do you think? Let us know. I used to go out with this when we first got together. I think we had about a year and then cold hit. All right. Thank you. Uh yeah, we used to go into cording build little huts. Uh we watch a lot of people on YouTube do the same. Uh I think the people that we watch most that build stuff watch this couple of vlogs from Indonesia. Think we’re Indonesian anyway. That’s not how you pronounce it. Uh so yeah, we used to watch a couple of guys from Indonesia and uh uh they used to build it out like sand and mud, have little swimming pools and stuff like that. There’s a guy from I think the hallway who does the same, but he builds his outer logs on cliff faces and stuff like that. Just going over the M6 now. Down this end there’s not much. There’s a dragonfly breeding ground. In all honesty, it’s not that pretty. I went last week on a little bike ride after I finished setting up the bike. So, I think it needs to be set. To be honest with you, it just looks polluted. Doesn’t look taken care of. Uh just before we got over the ridge, there’s some little steps and uh when you go down there, there’s some old bunkers. I’ll have to take you at some point. I’m pretty sure they’re bunkers anyway. Or old tunnels. They can’t really get in them, I don’t think. More should you want to. I think they’re uh either privately owned or sealed for a reason, aren’t they? I’m not an explorer. Don’t fancy having a bit of a cave in on myself. So yeah, we’ll go have a look at one more. So this is Bambber Bridge coming up to Bambber Bridge Football Club. Not sure what it is on my left. I think it’s a scrapyard on my right even. Don’t know me left and right today. Don’t know if I’m going to make it through this. I used to do before Christmas on me old bike. This is a little bit bigger. Better be 13. Sorry unit, lads. All right, so on my right now there on those bushes is uh Amber Bridge football club. [Music] Not really too into football really. Really, really donkey. But yeah, not not too into football, tell you it truth. used to be a big fan of all the wanderers in me teen years my younger younger days to the Liverpool. [Music] Yeah. So coming up to Walton Liddale in a minute or two. Just going to pull over for a second and let this van pass cuz I’m crossing over anyhow. I know you shouldn’t ride on pavements. But the way I see it is as long as you’re safe. You get pedicycle [Music] route on that side anyway. Once you borrow that corner there, you’ll see once you get on there. Sure. Yeah. Uh can’t remember what the pawns, but it’s like a stable, but there’s a specific word for them. Uh it’s not an estry, is it? Estri isn’t that where you’re on ship? I know it’s it sounds similar, I think, but Okay, you see here now Preston via Ultram Road uh cycle route then behind these bushes over here now. It’s like stables and horse training ground. There’s actually a horse there this time. Never really saw any horses last time or coming this direction. So, hey, look at that. It fits my old bike. Magical old bike never used to do that. Afternoon. [Music] Do love a horse, you know. Always wanted to ride one. See if I can show you a bit there. Ah, he’s a big boy, ain’t he? It’s stunning in I’ve always wanted to ride one kid. Used to really love Zoro. Masa Zoro. I used to want to do gymnastics and uh ride a horse. So my uncle couldn’t afford to send me horse riding. It’s an expensive hobby I believe. So instead, she sent me to gymnastics. I went once. So it was all full of girls and then give up. You know, typical young lad behavior that in it or it’s quite a nice little bike ride this you do go up through a few few little villagy bits of main roads though. Uh yeah, you get get into a quite quite a nice looking country park, but it’s uh also a little bit rough. Nice little pond on me right? [Music] Sorry, I’ll try and keep your front face. I just want to give you a a proper view around sometimes. I did have you on the handlebars like here. The raw front tires, uh, my old tires anyway, these are quite nice to have, but you get you get a lot of raw. And when I was speaking, couldn’t really hear it too much. So, I filmed a video or two, had a go, and then uh as as I was editing, I’ve only got the session session 4 Pro or whatever it is. Session 4 GoPro. Afternoon, mate. Only got a session 4, so I uh I had no computer, so I’m using the GoPro click app. It’s handy. I think like the longest longest timed piece of music that I personally liked for about four or five minutes and the journey that I did weren’t actually that long. It was just a trip around cording alone. And even as for editing, I think that came to about 12. Uh I’m not I’m not too savvy with the app yet. So, I figured I best let’s just talk and I’ll talk to you and talk talk talk through where I’m going in it. But, uh, yeah. So, this is, uh, I believe Waltonly I’m heading through in a second. So I’ve never really met very many bad behaved dogs. I mean those that are bad behavior, it’s more often than not just the owners and it unfortunately think dogs are amazing animals that all the people love unless they’ve been treated unkind. It has uh quite a lot of lakes and stuff around here. Or maybe not lakes, ponds, quite. [Music] So, not really expecting this video to uh take off and have thousands of views. to be fair, not even expecting the channel to uh sounds a bit dafted, but I’m doing this all well for a few different reasons, is it? It’s to benefit my health in a way as as much as anything. Uh figure I can get myself out and have more of a reason to go. I don’t really take a lot of photographs or anything like that. Uh, and not one for using cameras in the past. Not for me own me own use anyway. Taking quite a lot of photos for other people on birthdays and whatnot. I’m not I usually quite a camera type person. Uh, I figure I get getting a bit old now. It’s actually me birthday today. I’m 32 and uh I think we shut up here, are we? Oo. here. So, old tram road must be shut. Lots of little dirt tracks around here. So, anyway, it’s me birthday today. Getting a bit older. I’ve had quite a seditary lifestyle so far for the last few years. 15 years I was a chef and lazy. Yeah, figure get some exercise happening. get some exercise and uh record what I see cuz some people might have a similar lifestyle to what I have or not be able to get out and uh that’s kind of what’s got me doing it in a way. I’ve watched other YouTubers uh quite a lot of different YouTubers. Uh some of them have impacted me a little bit, made me think about certain things in life and yeah like is uh [Music] as I said change the way I think a little bit. Um some of them have just been camping channels and it’s got me into going liking camping again. I’ll be honest. Uh some of them have been proper walking channels. Some of them have been uh I mean like Charlie Beach if you want. Uh it’s a bit of a controversial one that one is it. Many mixed thoughts on the guy. Uh but there’s another guy similar and I think he’s an absolute treasure liver pubian. I think he’s a I think he’s a brilliant bloke. People changed how I feel about things and uh fig give it a go. Get to see see new sites. I’m going to try and do at least a video a week. go somewhere noon afternoon. So yeah, I’ll go to what I do every week hopefully and uh if I take you guys along with me for those people who can’t get out or maybe not from around here, I’ll uh I’ll be introducing them to somewhere they’ve never seen before, which is a nice fort really. If I get a good following, even if I don’t get a good following, I want to do a a ride next year. Like I said, I want to do a big ride and try and raise a bit of money for charity. I think the elderly, the homeless, a lot of people in Britain get forgotten about. And uh I feel like we should all try and put the great back into Great Britain, isn’t it? which all look after each other. So, it used to be up this way, but I believe it is shut. Apparently, the best of news is a good job I came today because I was planning on coming this way next week or Saturday when I start new job. It’s a big right. I have a feeling, Bob, this actually just takes me straight up to um a lake I went fishing at around Christmas. Um maybe not that impressive. hopefully. Little sculpture. Show you that a bit more detail way back. Uh come back this way. It’s a 20 37 minutes past 12. So 20 to 1 call it. And this is finishes at 2. I think Google Maps said it takes about an hour. they get to press them. Um, could get the train, but that’s not going to benefit my health, is it? It’s not going to benefit my wallet either. So, yeah, I’ll try and get get the get back as quick as pos. You’re all right, mate. She’s all right. He’ll just keep running. Just keep going. No worries, mate. Hey, pooch [Music] a new friend. People come on then. That dog were adorable. Think it won’t it come with me. Uh yeah. So this is definitely on my way to Preston now. Just going have to keep me eyes peeled. I have got a phone bag. Don’t if it’s sealed or not. I have got a phone bag there on my top tube. Uh but I bought it with the intention of using my phone as a satnav at points. Do have a little Garmin watch as well. But uh I went to Southport to an old m of mine. Literally an old mate of mine. Shouldn’t say that, but oh well. Speak the truth. Um, so I went to Southport all night mate uh Friday last week and uh right now where this sun’s sun’s out, it’s hitting the plastic plastic cover on the screen. It’s made it almost impossible to see. Um, and the voice some reason doesn’t always always function on it. And on the way back, it’s just took me a completely different route. So, I want to get used to just having it me own a head. [Music] Thank you. So towards the right now, but there you can see Preston uh those big high-rise flats. Not keen on them. I live in a flat myself, but it’s not quite as an eyesore as that. Sorry if you live there and you’re watching this video. Um but definitely needs a lick of paint or something. [Music] I’ll tell you what these cycling short meant nor I’d be sweating lots chain line over there believe there’s a a bridge over in France that I’m going to guess has a similar similar uh concept to this bridge. Two eyes can go on view forever from that sentiment in it. [Music] That’s the other side up there. [Music] It’s pointed towards the sky then. Sorry. Yeah, that’s uh the rubble for you. You get a bit of salmon and trout in there certain times of year. [Music] So now we’re going through an park. I’ll tell you what it’s taken me I think I set off about 3 minutes 12 quick chat with horse man he had a parcel for or uh probably the misses to be honest with you but uh had a quick chat with him and uh yeah I think it’s a top about 3 minutes to 12 it’s now 12:44 so that’s at 52 minutes I beat beat the Google map estimation by 3 minutes it’s Good enough for me. Um, where’s this taken me out of now? I get to anywhere interesting from that side. Not without hiker bike. So, it’s going to turn you off in a minute, people. Right people. So, I’m now on my way back to Bookshore. Wait for meeting me Mrs. She’s uh finished work a little bit early. Must be quiet. Uh, yeah. Uh, so yeah, this is the actual lake that I was on about. If you can see over there, I’m not sure if you will be able to in the distance, there’s actually some houses for birds. You get quite a lot of different birds here. You get ducks, more hens, you get a few herands, you get geese. Just while I was setting up my uh brewing tackle was actually uh really really geese over there. It making a lot of noise. So, who knows why it’s got a right to on it. But uh yeah, you can see quite big, quite nice. There’s uh somewhere over that direction. Bit bit bad lighting right now. If you follow this fence down, it’s fenced off and it kind of goes round down that side. Uh there’s like a little entrance way. Uh I met a guy. I can’t remember his I don’t honestly remember him telling me his name to be honest with you. Just check me water. Shouldn’t it be not not far off, but it’s not quite boiling? But uh yeah, so I met a guy and uh he was telling me that he’s going to go swimming in it. I tell you what, I don’t envy that guy. A lot of bad things happens when you go swimming in uh lakes like this, especially when it comes to the colder seasons, aren’t it? So, uh, yeah, figured I’d just have a chat, introduce myself properly, let you all see who’s speaking when speaking to, and hope you’ve enjoyed me video, what I’ve made. There’ll be a lot more to come. I’m not going to beg for likes and subscribers, you know, it’s uh, entirely your choice really, isn’t it? That’s me bike. So, Remy is my ship. See what I can’t. So I’ve replaced these handlebars here. Wh my hands are going to be all over the show, aren’t they? So, I’ve replaced these butterfly bars. I got them for a tenner off Facebook. Um, I got this bag, the squeak bag. Again, not hearing it now. Normally, you hear a mad amount of squeak from that. Uh, this little bit here is um very reflective, as you can probably see when you’ve got your phone in it. Sometimes it’s really good, sometimes it’s terrible. Uh, touch it through it though. Storage and it’s quite good. This bag here, it’s my hot chocolate wrappers. Always take your litter with you. Uh, so that’s my tool bag and my uh what’s the name? Inner tubes. Don’t run tubeless. I don’t like the idea of it. It’s waterproof. Paid about 15 I think about 15 quid anyway. Uh, truth be told, can’t really remember. Might have been a bit less. I think just over 10 or maybe 11.99. I don’t know. It’s off Amazon. I see fair bit of toolage in there. Got multi-tool. I do have another set of tools I got uh at home. Just check me water again, guys. Saving save fuel as and where I can. Yeah, I’d say we’re golden there. So, just give us two moments. I’ll put me brew. I’m having a hot chocolate instead of a coffee. I love me caffeine, but uh I do drink a lot of coffee. And uh as much as I like it, I could probably do if I had a bit of cut down for now. Mrs. I’ll tell you it’s same. It’s literally all I drank at one point. Yeah, you’re definitely out sound. But you up beer. Sorry. I’ll uh carry on with you in a minute. I do chat to myself sometimes. Is that something everyone does? I know Mrs. does. She’s quite notorious for it, but she has like full on conversations. Me too, like, but not quite to that extent. Um, I say it’s a sign of a sane person. Yep. Stir. Give me a mix and let that cool down. Odd chocolate. So, Polish shot. I got a bag of them from Poundland. There’s a new shop opened in my hometown of Charlie. Um, it’s kind of like a brick and rack store, if you will. I think that’s the term for them. You can just get everything from them. And, uh, there’s a brand of hot chocolate called Moate. Moate. Uh, picked up a bag cuz they were cheap. I think I paid 1 pound 30 or something like that couple of weeks ago in uh, that brick and rock sort. And then I found the same ones in Brooklyn. So, I figured I’d stock up. They’re not bad to be honest with you. Got a bit of running temperature dropping a little bit. I’ll continue me tour of Remy. Uh so yeah, that’s me tool bag. Um what else have I put on me? Mrs. Got me these tires for me birthday. It was me birthday. Uh well, yesterday I’m filming this the day after. Maybe the day after that. I don’t know. The weather were atrocious once I got that from Preston. And as much as I don’t mind the rain, uh when I came back out, cuz I actually did come back out to film it, the camera lens were just getting wet. And about here, there was like a there was like a little droplet of water and it kind of just played havoc with the light and stuff like that. So, I figured I’d just come back out and refilm it and hopefully this this time it’s all right in it. Um so, yeah, I got these tires, Continental Ride Tours. Uh when I first got the bike, it had some very old tires on it. They weren’t bad like they still had a fair bit of tread left, but we’re a bit slow on the road on path kind of thing. That kind of thing. Um so I figured I best just get some new ones and they were they were old. You could tell they were old. They were fraing around besides have like threads coming off them. I figured best off just buying some new ones and have an accident or just have a puncture and not be able to repair it because well that’s happened on it. Um look at that. So that’s the path I’ve just rode down here down that side down there. There’s like a a big hill. Not big but relatively relatively big hill. 1925. I’ve still got 25 minutes before I need to set off and meet Mrs. Yeah. I I love meeting Mrs. from work. Uh, she probably I swear I slow her down to be honest with you. She’s like a champion rider. She’s not she’s not uh she’s not actually a champion rider, but she’s pretty fast on a mountain bike. Uh, it’s not always a good thing, I guess, is it? But oh, I’ll show you at some point or you’ll see. She’ll come out with me. Wait, not want. But yeah, so that is Remy. He is from 1991. He’s got a made a Reynolds 531 which is I believe one of the best best tubings about at the time very strong. Uh there’s a super tour of a Super Turer symbol. The 5P ones there. Super tour is somewhere behind this here. Um, I absolutely love him into bits. He’s one of my favorite bikes I’ve had. Before bits, I had a orange bazangle and then I I brought that over Christmas and I was working loads of hours. Uh, turns dafted, but I didn’t have the time to fix him. And the bottom bracket was stuck. It took ages to get out. Uh, took quite a lot of GT85, which I highly recommend if you don’t already use that for your bikes. beats beats WD40 any day of week. So yeah, it took a lot of GT85 and quite a bit of heat from a haird dryer and then it finally came out. But yeah, so in the meantime of that being broke bought a voodoo brag and I bought it two s two sizes too small I’m going to say thinking it’d be all right just for Christmas. So I got rid of both of those and I bought this with the with the money I guess would be one way to put it. Yeah, he’s a good good buy in my head. I paid 150 for him. Um, to me that’s a steal. He’s murder steel. To me, that’s a steal. Uh, I’ve had a lot of enjoyments out of him. Get a lot of miles out of the guy. And, uh, yeah. So, my other ones, the Zango, a lot of fun, but after about an hour, I’m going to say it was quite quite difficult on me legs and my backside. Honestly, so the forks weren’t even that good either. So I mean like this this is comfier to ride on stuff like this than the Bzango was. It rolls a lot faster. So to me it’s worth every penny I bought. The uh pioneer bags I learned a hard lesson the other night when I came out. Uh we’ve got like these little yellow covers that go over the top and uh not so waterproof. Everything’s always in dry bags anyway. Like I’ve got little stuff sacks. Dry bags. They’re all waterproof, so it’s not much of a problem, but it’s a good job I found that out now rather than just stuff me sleeping bag in one. And uh yeah, other than that, well, they’re all right. I have got other ones that are waterproof for me bag to go in and it will go in a dry bag itself. Yeah. So, this is actually the lake and see possibly there’s some ducks. My favorite animal. Been thinking of Rivonson a lot. Rivenson’s a really nice area. Uh not sure if the old boy will make it up there or he’ll make it up on the roads. I’d like to show you uh the Chinese gardens. There’s a lot of stuff up here. There’s pigeon tower. Winter hill is really lovely. Other than that, there’s Rodlessworth and uh what’s the place next to that called? Darwin. It’s Darwin area. I can’t remember life now. I’ll put it up on screen. Um it’s uh it’s a walk really. I’m not sure if you can get bikes on or whether you’re allowed to try and stick to rules as and where I can, but I’ll have a research. And uh it’s what inspired Tolken for the Lord of the Rings. I believe is part of it at least did. I’ve looked at photos there. It honestly looks stunning. I’ve never been there myself. I mean like it’s it’s only up the road, isn’t it?
