Brighton and Hove is at its best when experienced on two wheels. A year ago I sold my car — and since then, cycling has become my favourite way to live, explore, and stay fit.
In this video, I share how cycling transforms everyday life here:
Morning rides that double as workouts and coffee stops by the beach
Exploring the Sunday car boot at Brighton Marina
Quiet escapes to Ovingdean for coffee — and sometimes a swim
Why the bike lanes may not be perfect, but still make the city easier to enjoy
How cycling gives me freedom, calm, and time with my wife
Whether you live in Brighton, are planning a visit, or just want inspiration to use your bike more, this is a reminder that small rides can turn into little adventures.

The best way to enjoy Brighton and Hove is by
bike. So you see I sold my car about a year ago. Since then, the way I experience Brighton
and Hove has completely changed. One of the best way to enjoy the city in my opinion is by
bike. Why? Because it’s quick, it’s simple, and Brighton and Hole feels like it was designed for
cycling. And that makes living here even better. Welcome back to my channel. I release new
videos every Monday. If you’re new here, welcome. If you’ve been here before, I really
appreciate your support. The bike links here gets mixed reviews. Some people don’t like them.
They say they’re not designed that well or they just get too busy. And sure, they’re not perfect,
but for me, they work. They better than nothing. If it’s crowded, I just go earlier or I slow
down and pay a bit more attention. Like the story reminds us, you can’t control
everything, but you can control how you respond. That mindset makes every ride more
enjoyable. And look, I am not a cycling expert, and this isn’t a bike channel. I don’t know all
the technical stuff. I just know how riding makes me feel free, stronger, and more connected to
the place I live. For me, Brighton and Hove is at its best when I’m on two wheels. It’s
my workout, my escape, and the simplest way to find those little adventures. That’s why the
best way to enjoy Brighton and Hove is by bike. So, which means living in Hove, I can
roll straight onto the seafront cycle lane and head east following the coast
all the way to Salt Dean. It’s about 12 km flat and easy. It’s always feel like a little
adventure. So, now that my wife’s got a bike, it’s even better. We’ve been exploring
together. Sometimes just a short ride for fitness and sometimes cycling to the
Sunday car boot sale at Brighton Marina, which runs from 6:00 in the morning and it’s
packed with all sorts and also fresh pastries. Other days we’ll keep going out to Ovingdean
Beach where there’s a quiet beach and a lovely cafe by the on the cliff. Perfect for coffee
or even a quick dip when the weather is kind. [Music] So that’s it for today. For me, cycling around
Brighton and Hove isn’t about being fast or having the best bike. It’s about the freedom to get out,
clean my head, and enjoy where I live. If you’ve got a bike, even an old one, I’d say give it a go,
take it out, see where the path takes you. Doesn’t have to be perfect. It just needs to make you feel
good. Thanks for watching, and if you enjoy this, please subscribe, leave a comment, and share
how you get around where you live. I love to hear your stories. Until next time, keep
exploring and make time for what matters.
