Ladies and gents, my newest addition. It’s a 1993? GT Karakoram I picked up from a charity bike shop for $100.
The frame was insanely clean. Some paint chips but it seems like somebody bought it 30 years ago rode it a handful of times then put it up. No rust anywhere, and the BB actually came out without much protest.
I sourced a set of Mavic cross max wheels from Craigslist, and everything else I could from the charity bike shop. In total, I’m into this about $500 and it came out rad.
XT 1×9 RD and 9 speed shifter -used

Things were learned along the way, didn’t intend on buying wheels but was kinda forced to to make the 1×9 happen without putting several hours into an old set of wheels that didn’t deserve it.
All that’s really left to do is acquire a light for the front for safety on the way home from a buddies house or the bar.
