
If I would have one dear wish in the world, it would be slightly more careful infrastructure workers. Even in Japan where they tend to be very considerate.
If you have too short rain water grating, leave the gap in the car section instead of the bike gutter. That is simply perfect for catching the front wheel (and surprisingly deep) to get a full stop (and slightly later I enjoyed the full stop as well somewhat further). Luckily it was on uphill so the speed wasn't too high, but sufficient for roll over.
Happily only thing really breaking in my bag was a bursting can of warm soda (the wet feeling got me worried as I was still a tad dazed) and even camera survived. I got bruised, but not too badly either.
All in all, not only the traffic is out to get you, but let's remember watch the pavement as well.
