[Music] Kakasan’s ramparts are the living map of medieval warfare. The city has two massive walls built centuries apart. The inner wall dates back to late Roman times while the outer ring was added in the 13th century during the Albagensian Crusade. Together they stretch over 3 km and are dotted with 52 towers, each designed to delay attackers, trap them between layers, and give defenders the high ground. Kakasam was once a frontier fortress between France and Aragon, caught in political and religious conflict for centuries. By the 19th century, the fortress was in ruins. But thanks to architect V Luk, the ramp parts were restored, though not without controversy. Don’t forget to like and subscribe for more shorts like this one.
