welcome to Monaco one of the smallest and wealthiest countries in the entire world and known for its luxury Glitz and glamour I’ve traveled the entire Globe but Monaco is where I’ve called home for over 9 years in total so today it’s time that I show you around just like a local sh I’m going to tell you exactly what you need to do and how you need to spend your day here in Monaco in order to see the top touristic attractions but also the Lesser known hidden gems and I’ll be giving you some valuable Insider info along the [Music] way very unsurprisingly we are going to kick off this tour in the famous Casino Square this square is the heart and soul of Monaco and probably the Monte Carlo that you all know from pop culture and from the James Bond movies behind me you’ve got the famous Monte Carlo Casino Cafe De par and the famous hotel de which is Monaco’s most luxurious and probably most famous hotel also there is a recently rebuilt shopping area this is a very recent development here in Monaco and it’s got the most luxurious brands in the most modern and high-end setting so this is fantastic for you to start exploring Monaco you can see a lot of luxury cars you can see the glitz and glamour that Monte Carlo is known for and then from here I highly recommend you head slightly downhill to discover what a luxury shopping mall looks like here in Monte Carlo fun fact the Metropole was built on the former side of the Monaco train station in 1988 as you can see this is probably the most luxurious shopping mall that you’ll ever encounter it’s got these beautiful hanging chandeliers it’s got marbl floor and over 80 designer boutiques that you can choose from it’s also got very useful things for you so there is a technology shop on the ground floor adapters phone chargers it’s got a beauty store let’s head down and then from there we’re going to go on to see the famous hairpin turn this Bend in front of the Fairmont Hotel is one of the most challenging and iconic turns in the racing world the walk to The Hairpin turn is not long at all about 30 seconds to be precise but once you’re here this is a really great way to not only see the Formula 1 if that is the time that you’re thinking of coming here but also to spot luxury cars I personally always tend to leave during the Formula 1 just because it gets very very hectic very crowded there’s just too much going on in such a confined space and all the roads are blocked as well so it’s impossible to get around now if you happen to love the Formula 1 races and if that’s something that you’ve had on your bucket list for a while then yes definitely come here during the Grand Prix which is usually the last week of May let’s go see something really really great inside the Fairmont Hotel which is right next to me and then after that I’ll show you the famous beaches of Monaco that I guarantee you won’t want to [Music] miss nestled inside the Fairmont hotel is one of my favorite hidden gems in Monaco this is the luxurious Sero Boutique which is an experience on its own here you’ll come to discover scents like nowhere else in the world serov was founded in Italy in 2007 and Remains the most luxurious brand in the world when it comes to perfumes their design and their research for raw ingredients all over the world drawing Inspirations anywhere from Asia to Africa to the Amazon rainforest create some of the most memorable scents you will encounter here you can even try their signature scent for Monaco this is pure luxury in a bottle a scent that was inspired by a shooting star and actually when you buy this perfume you even get a piece of a meteorite with your perfume so it’s not just the smell you’re buying it’s a whole story that you get to relive every single time you wear exer perfume here you can find one that smells like vanilla this smells like cake by the way in the best possible way I find that if you come here to this Boutique you will spend so much time just wandering around discovering new sents for yourself because that’s something that’ll last a lifetime you know trips start trips end but having a perfume that you wear every single day that’ll take you back to your time here I think that’s pretty [Music] Priceless as you walk down from the Fairmont you will be greeted with the beach area called l boto and as youve probably realized most of today will in fact be a walking tour I will show you guys how to take the bus here later on it’s very very easy and we’ll also have a look at other modes of Transport less expected ones now as a local I get asked for directions every single day here in Monaco there are very few signs around and few of them aren’t in English at that which is why it’s really important that you guys take this guide and you input it into your Google Maps pinpoint the areas that you like and exactly what your itinerary should look like and then save it offline and use it here in Monaco and in case you’re wondering where we are now it is the ultra relaxing Japanese gardens in the loto area as you can see there are other options here you don’t have to walk as much as I’m walking today you can rent one of these ebikes and you can also get around using an electric bus which I’m about to show you a little bit later Monaco in general is quite Forward Thinking in terms of new and green energy slow slowly it is becoming a little bit more modern heading towards the right direction in terms of an eco-friendly environment here this whole area loto actually got redone recently as well when I used to live in that building over there when I first moved to Monaco in 2004 this whole area looked totally different much less modern but now it has become the perfect place for you to take a walk take a stroll discover some of the amazing restaurants around here I will leave details below on the ones that I recommend and obviously go to the beach if you’ll notice there is not a single bit of litter a single bit of trash on the roads there’s always something nice to look it’s something beautiful to admire and that’s what Monaco stands for it’s just luxury not only in consumables not only in the things that you buy not only in merchandise but also visual luxury I love that [Music] see this is the beach right here it’s these tiny little Pebbles what you’re currently seeing behind me is a completely man-made Island it’s an extension of loto where they have built luxury homes for the new and incoming residents here in Monaco currently there’s just under 40,000 people living here but with so much demand for property this was a really great choice for them to make this is not Monaco’s first except I but it’s definitely the newest one let’s take the bus together there we go the buses here cost about 22 per single trip and then €550 for a day pass they’re all super clean there’s only about six lines so very very easy to get around not much orientation [Music] needed our next stop is po Monaco’s main Harbor this is where you’ll see some of the world’s most impressive yachts and constant ongoing events I think the best place to start your little tour of portul which is the main Port of Monaco is right here slightly above so you get a bird’s eye view of the whole thing I think the main thing here to see is obviously the Yachts but also the yacht club there are a lot of events going on at the Yacht Club it is a very prestigious place to be a member of here in Monaco and at the moment there’s actually an electric boat competition which is an annual thing here in Monaco once again Prince Albert is really pushing for renewable energy and he himself is actually a big fan of electric boats it’s hard to take your eyes off the multi-million dollar yachts lining the harbor but keep watching if you want to get an Insider tip for the best place to stay with this unparalleled view a lot of people that come to Monaco only choose to come here for the day and I think that’s partly because they just haven’t found a suitable hotel but today I’m going to show you something that’ll change your mind this hotel has both the perfect location the perfect interiors and so many other things that just come together to make it the ideal state for you here in Monaco let me show you why from my experience the Port Palace Hotel always offers the best value for money in Monaco it’s where my friends and family usually stay when they visit and their feedback has only been [Music] positive here in the Port Palace Hotel every single room is upward of 50 square m which is huge and pretty much unheard of for Monaco this one happens to be the corner Suite with 60 plus square m of space [Music] every room here in the Port Palace Hotel has a view out into the harbor and if you’re coming here during the Formula 1 you can actually see the races right from your room which is pretty Priceless if you ask me I absolutely love the fact that the bedroom is separated from the living room makes it feel like you’re in an apartment and not a hotel this is actually Monaco’s only Boutique lifestyle Hotel so that’s a really great thing for you to know because not only do you have easy access to the port but you also have really easy access from the other side of the hotel to to the casino Square the Heritage Hotel the Metropol shopping mall so this right here is a location that in my eyes is unbeatable taking in the mesmerizing Harbor views is the perfect way to reach our next stop which is a lot more local and totally underrated by tourists as you continue walking along the port you will eventually reach plaz which is is the start of kundin my personal favorite area here in Monaco an area that I feel is highly underrated and one that I’ve actually been living in for the last 4 years I know everything there is to know around here and this Market is a really great place for you to start it’s open from early in the morning up until 1:00 p.m. every day you’ll find fresh fruits fresh vegetables and a lot of places to have lunch on the inside as well this is like a fancy eery the places that I would recommend for you are this one which is truffle Bistro which has really really great pasta with truffle unsurprisingly and then there’s a Japanese place called MC Cadera on the other side you have to reserve for that one but the quality of their Sushi is out of this world now if you want to get something to take away there is actually a local Monaco food that not a lot of people know about this is called a b fried dough with spinach inside very popular here now as you guys know I am a huge huge huge ice cream fan wherever I go I always try to find the best ice cream but for me being a local here finding this place was honestly a godsend it felt like I’ve had jackpot because not only does this ice cream happen to be Italian and as you know Italian gelato is famous for its amazing flavors it also happens to be completely free fre of any sort of chemicals additives the reason I picked chocolate chip which is strella is because K actually used to be a chocolate business a family-owned chocolate business and then they only ventured out into ice cream very recently so chocolate is in fact their pride and joy when it comes to Flavors but having said that the sorbet is actually surprisingly good too like you can’t taste any chemicals that you would taste in other ice cream brands because there are none and this is what ice cream is supposed to be like so for me if you come to Monaco no stop in the kundam area is complete without [Music] K so we’ve eaten traditional Monas snacks and we’ve had the best ice cream of Monaco but now it’s time to discover the only Distillery here with traditional monagas liquor made from local oranges [Music] well this family-owned business is pretty hidden away right behind PL but it is really worth you coming here they make some of the coolest liquor bottles that I’ve ever seen and not to mention all of the oranges that they use for the production of this squer actually come from Monaco including the street that we were on previously for the ice cream the process distillation is quite simple uh idea it’s that water boils at 100° alcohol boils at around 85° so we heat the water and then we separate the uh the alcohol from from from what’s left goes up through the the the cap starts to concentrate the the Aromas flows down here into the um into the column and then we have three plates where we can read the still so just to kind of finish and polish off the uh the liquid and then it finally comes through here how long does this take the whole process so I suppose it would take about 6 to 8 hours Cheers Cheers m oh very sweet very unexpected so I had the idea for some reason that it would be very bitter but it’s [Music] not so as I mentioned before being a local means I get asked for directions a lot and on this particular Street in the Quine area one of the things I get asked about most often is where to find the train station I’m taking the escalator now but you can also take this elevator just take it up to the third floor and from here you are going to come out to this beautiful square and in this beautiful Square you’re going to find some of the newest architecture here in Monaco this is a residential building you’re going to find a fantastic place to sit down and enjoy your lunch if you’ve bought something at the market and the train station that most people will be looking for is just up those stairs so there you have it that’s one of the things that I show tourists every single day and one of the things that you should really pinpoint on that Google Maps that you’re going to save offline [Music] well back at plaz and from there it’s actually very easy to get to the princess palace and all you have to do is look out for stairs that make your legs hurt just by looking at them takes about 10 minutes to get all the way up to the princess palace in the heat it might be a bit tricky but don’t worry because there are a lot of use to make up for it [Music] well here we are the princess palace originally established in the 13th century and has been here ever since obviously rebuilt redecorated a few times and you can actually go inside on guided tours this area for me is best to visit in the afternoon and you’ll see why shortly when I show you the Viewpoint and also in the morning at around 11:55 a.m. when there is the changing of the guards here the princess palace is located in the oldest part of Monaco called l or in English the rock it’s composed of old preserved buildings and Tiny winding streets with shops cafes and restaurants kug Santa Dev there is actually a local language here it’s called monagas no one speaks it no one that I know of anyway but on these older streets you’ll find the street name marked in both French and monagas I feel you could really get lost on these streets up the rock there’s so many of them and they’re all so cute and so colorful winding ones most of them will lead you to the cathedral this is a very special Cathedral because Prince rer and Grace Kelly are both buried in here not only that but it’s also very imposing and just a spectacular white color it it just feels like it never really got old it never really aged right in front of the cathedral is my all-time favorite view in Monaco this is spectacular and this I feel gets illuminated especially well in the second part of the day this postcard worthy view of Monaco’s Fier area is one of the most photogenic spots and the principality F view was originally designed between the 70s and the ’90s and is now home to the local Stadium heliport rose gardens a smaller Harbor and many restaurants as you walk away from that beautiful Viewpoint you are going to come into J so the St Martin Gardens thing about Monaco is even though it looks like a concrete jungle like a very dense Concrete Jungle it’s got these little pockets of greenery and they’re so manicured inaugurated over 100 Years Ago by Prince Albert the Monaco’s oceanographic Museum now houses some of the world’s most interesting and diverse marine species if you are spending an evening here in Monaco the perfect thing for you to do in the evening is visit the open air Cinema they’ve got a showing every single evening at 9:30 and the films are usually in original version meaning in English but sometimes you’ve got French ones as well a really nice experience I go at least once or twice every year and it’s something that once again not many tourists know about we’re actually walking on top of the Monaco prison now true story there are a lot of things that are permitted in other countries that Monaco doesn’t allow which is what makes it so luxurious so clean just very pleasant to be around and some of those things are for example like Camper vans Camper vans are not allowed in Monaco they’re completely banned another one of those things is homelessness I don’t know how I feel about that I don’t know how you guys feel about that I would actually be curious and interested to see what you think of that so leave a comment down below some other things like busing bsking is not allowed for musicians on the streets uh drones aren’t allowed to fly over the princess palace stuff like that so there are these little rules that come into place to make Monaco the protected principality and the extremely and Incredibly safe principality that it is [Music] today as you continue downhill down the stairs from the oceanographic museum you will come to this beautiful tiny little Hidden Beach where the Pebbles are actually slightly smaller than the ones that we’ve seen in the larot area this especially in the morning is breathtaking just because it’s so hidden and secret it feels like you have a whole little beach to yourself [Music] and if you’re looking for a third Beach option there is something called the salarium beach right over there this is not a Pebble Beach nor is it a sand beach it’s basically just platforms for you to tan on hence the [Music] name so you’ve just seen the princess palace you’ve just seen the salarian beach and if you’re wondering how to get to the other side of the port it is actually using this boat bus as you take the boat bus through the main Harbor you’ll catch another glimpse of the constant movement surrounding you in this tiny but fascinating principality there’s still so much I haven’t shown you but if you’re in Monaco for one day this is the perfect way to see why there’s no other place quite like it on Earth [Music]
