we are here at the original location of the Colchester United stadium and they played here until 2008 in 1985 Bradford City Stadium burned down and killed 56 people this caused the community to accelerate any type of passion that they had around building a new stadium especially because Colchester United’s original stadium was made out of wood and they did not want to risk another tragedy to occur in their Community that’s the original grass by the way [Music] I found the perfect hat to wear at the Colchester [Music] game it’s like I’m attending a funeral Colchester known as the camel to in Roman times is the first ever recorded Roman capital in Britain guys I’m off my depression medication and I came to the most oppressing town in England for what for what I’m not sure I’m not sure but we got to get into it okay ready 10 jumping jacks let’s go this is a norin built Castle on Roman ruins inside there’s art exhibits and rumors of Charlie the commentator haunting the Halls Colchester is the oldest town in England but also the newest City it is home to 190,000 people with 190,000 people trying to leave I’m just joking I love Colchester a yeah I’m the local coester boy this is the uh best park we’ve got um yeah got a bit of rubble down there there’s one thing Colchester and I have in common and that is being extremely depressed as you guys can see I dressed for the Colchester feeling depressed except for my shoes because the feet are the best part of the body body I also am on the medication called cetrine for depression and I increase my dosage from 25 milligrams to 100 milligrams just to step foot in the city to keep on theme and to make sure that I don’t kill I see you cry yeah it makes me smile yeah it makes me smile 49 years after Jesus’s death this was a very Gateway for vman to keep our attackers um all the way back then so these Stern thick walls full of mold would fight off the attackers it was quite good actually okay so I have made it to the stadium and it just reminds me of America from the outside because there’s just a giant parking lot just a giant parking lot we had to take an Uber to get here um again kind of just weird doesn’t feel like uh England to me um I can’t imagine being someone without a car coming here or like without the funds to be able to afford an Uber which probably does affect the amount of people that can come and watch their local team play uh outside of that though we have a raging pregame Event Center uh I’ll show you it Charlie’s over there with Len they’re getting ready uh we’re going to try to wow [Music] everybody what’s worse this were the chrismd video the chrismd video still It’s haunting me so this stadium was built in 2008 and it holds about 10,000 people 9,000 of those usually being around the age of Charlie the commentator’s fans 10 years old and mainly men few wom coold Chester okay sorry coold Chester is the [ __ ] old L the [ __ ] in thank you David what’s your name Colchester is the only professional Club in Essex guys did you know that and the cold Chester fans are called the ‘s all oh yeah oh yeah okay so we just got our tickets they’re about 25b each which honestly is not too bad especially being in like the loudest popular section which will be interesting um I’m excited to see what happens with Charlie out there uh we’re seeing if we want to get anything that was kind of slay it’s not really giving depressing here it’s giving family friendly it’s giving fun it’s getting a thing okay I’m here with Charlie the commentator and Rowan Rowan yep okay how long have you been a fan of Colchester United uh first season was about 2009 200 n okay so that was the year after the stadium was built right yeah okay and how often do you go to games uh every week every week what is your main takeaway from games like how’s the atmosphere what what should I expect going in as an American uh the atmosphere is slowly growing especially with bwa with the flags down the front it’s getting a lot better as so sweet we’re sitting in like the loudest section so I’m looking forward to that um is there any like chant that we should know going in um I mean there’s quite a few you’ll pick them up quite easily as you go along everyone in S1 all joins in and gets involved so it’ll be quite good sweet love that I’m looking forward to it Charlie’s getting noticed left and right yeah how are you feel didn’t ask for this life really just find it to a young age if you could have it all but nobody to kill maybe then you know me okay we’re going to ignore that I’m severely depressed help me we got food absolutely dead how’s your hot dog zesty I got uh why am I putting the mic up to my H about to got ketchup mustard pickle with hot coco so I’m going to eat that and let you guys know how it is first first impressions of the stadium it feels absolutely amazing looks really good actually it’s my first football game guys guys the pitch looks good the fans are nice and it’s only going to get busier yeah people have been super nice yeah no one’s been like weird usually I get comments about my accent nobody’s commented on that that’s kind of cool um I think they’re all just Star Struck by Charlie toana that’s me yeah Len how are you feeling I’m feeling like a bodyguard I’m on high all I want to say is Colchester reached out to you for us could had this Bo you could have had this yeah you could have had Charlie playing he could have commentated that half time and all these fans all the hardcores up in the corner not this not them but that corner they’re um they clapped Charlie into the stadium that’s how much of a big deal this boy is and you go Chester you ignored me you’re Ru the day Colchester are currently in 16th Place with Arrington who they’re facing today in 20th Place uh both having five wins this season um I’m hoping that Colchester will have another win today against Arrington my guess is that it will be 2 win Charlie I believe what was your 41 41 and Len what was yours 31 3-1 so we’ll see how they far out [Music] Stanley just got a penalty I think get guys not looking good this is this is this is punishment for you taking a selfie the acting s fans it’s karma [Applause] oh so far the atmosphere has actually been quite surprising it’s been pretty loud I would say like after the first go goal was scored oh my God I can’t talk my lips are so cold the first goal was scored things got a little bit quiet but they picked up very quickly especially since at the end of this first half we’ve been on our side uh way more which is nice there’s been a few chances but obviously nothing has come to fruition just yet uh it sounds like the fans have a lot of hope that the second half will turn out positively and I really really hope so cuz I would love to see Colechester actually score what are you thinking of this first half boring and the rest really bad yeah I agree do you think we’ll come back in the second half though you do what you think the prediction will be I think it’s 2-1 21 21 okay I’m trusting you guys who’s the best player on this field L Taylor yeah L Taylor okay Charlie literally has a queue lined up just to take photos it’s insane so I’m here with Aaron who was featured in an aed’s video at this exact Stadium describe C to Fan in one word um do you want me to be honest I was wondering what your uh what your thoughts were on I’m not it’s a bit of a [ __ ] YouTube channel I thought um Paul run I think Ellis is a bit bit a bit of a prick um but he made the club to look uh a bit [ __ ] every time I think we’ve gone our lowest we go lower I thought the video he done um wasn’t it wasn’t actually about the club it was more about the the atmosphere on behind the club like it’s not he made like the club not look good at all I thought the view that he gave on the club didn’t didn’t look good on us so yeah you heard it here watch Rose Ruland instead of AES yeah of course you got to watch got to watch her instead of Ellis he’s [ __ ] he’s [ __ ] I agree they’re going to call the whistle after this we lost and Charlie just got blamed for the law got blam not great not a great [Music] Scene It honestly wasn’t that depressing they lost right they lost not great but it wasn’t that depressing I feel like they had a good time do you have a good time the fans blame me Bo for the loss they I’m severely depressed okay I know there were plenty of jokes made in this video but honestly my time in Colchester was amazing I know it’s known for being the most depressed but I do not feel depressed while I’m in Colchester it was so fun everyone was really really kind and open um it was probably the most comfortable that I’ve ever felt filming in an area which is really cool I never want to be like the influencer running around these football pitches or stadiums or whatever you want to say um I try to keep things a bit more lowkey like respectable uh but everyone was super inviting and nice and no one was really judgmental and honestly huge shout out to Len for taking us around and Charlie for joining me for the video I’m going to link his YouTube
