Day 24 Honked at by a mad German | We have ridden 700 miles on our Germany & Austria BikeTour

We set off with our fully loaded bikes to explore Germany and Austria for 2 months. Riding about 30 miles a day, we are exploring small towns and big cities. We plan about a day ahead, looking for campgrounds or hotels. We don’t follow a set route but do look for bike paths to the next city whenever possible. We don’t cook so we can enjoy local specialties, coffee shops and restaurants. We carry a little bit of food for a lunch or two in an insulated bag. We love any comments, advice, or encouragement. [Music] Good morning. We are in Zites, Zites, Germany, East Germany. Um, we’re leaving to go to Leipzig and um, it’s our last we have a nine day break in Lipick. Maybe we’ll do a video called nine days in Lipick. Anyway, um, we only have like 29 miles to go, but it’s only 200 ft of elevation. So, it’s we’re getting into the flat lands. We had a great stay here in Zitzik in the in the place we’re staying. We’ll tell you more about the town another time. Mhm. Yeah. All right. That’s all we got. I’ve got leaps lip in my sights. Sights. [Music] Leaving zites. Hello. Morning. Morning. [Music] must be picture day. Yeah, there’s somebody up there. So, it must be a fast ball coming at you live. Maybe they have two balls going at the same time cuz Oh, that’d be fun. They’re still pumping them things up. I guess the goal is to skim it. That was fun. Yeah. Well, fast ball looks like there’s a lot of running um and a lot of preparation for the game. At any rate, um we just left there like 2 minutes ago and we’re already in these deep woods. So pretty. It’s about 65° probably. No wind. Look at the leaves on the ground. So, fall is around the corner. Anyway, it’s a beautiful morning. Another another orchard. Something about the buffin. Beutin is verbotin. Eaten. Butin is verbotin. The river’s flowing here. Yeah. And those people had their rafts out. Looks fun. These terrible roads would keep us out. I can play in the gutter. So, we were riding on the road, but it was only for like 02 miles um on the edge of the road with no bike path, and a car got right up behind me and honked as we were riding and got so close, just inches from me. Very, very, very close. like they were not happy we were on the road. So, I’ve been feeling very welcome in Germany until this time. But, um, right after that, we got off the road onto this little trail and that’s good. No problem. We got this. Could have been on worse. Yeah, this ain’t no thing. I never Yeah, me either. Yep. Yep. Yep. How about oochie scooch across this one? Yeah, kind of. Yeah. narrow bridge. It’s slow a little. Yeah. There are a lot of bike bike tracks this way. Well, we’re arriving to Leipzig a little early, so we stopped off at a very cute cafe for some coffee and cappuccino. They were setting up for a party or a festival tonight. Looked very cute and inviting. Well, we’re about 5 miles from Leipzig under a bridge. A little bit scary [Music] entering lip. What? It’s a political party. Yep. Not exactly sure where to stop. [Music] All right, Susie. We got a I got a Yeah. [Music] Heat. [Applause] Hi. To sum up the ride, it was a beautiful day. It was so easy. It’s so much easier when it’s flat. Um 28 miles. Re got to our hotel. I think it’s the one right behind us. This kind of fancy building. It’s apartment hotel because we’re gonna stay here for nine days and do just maybe one fun activity every day. It was a great day. This is how you get your bike in an elevator and sneak it up to the third floor. Okay. You did that like a pro. Here’s our room. This is very nice. Little kitchen, seating area, bedroom, and beautiful windows with a view. So cute. I like it. And the tub. There’s a tub. Awesome. But our bikes get to stay in here with us because we didn’t know where else to put them. But this looks like a great place to spend a few days. Look how nice these fit in this little wardrobe.
