[Music] nikolajanevsky is one of 13 people who live in a village in central macedonia voynica used to be much larger but after factories in the region closed most of its residents moved abroad nikola decided to stay my grandfather used to say there were 300 to 350 families in our village we used to produce electricity we had a school and a local government now everything is different many people from this village have left the country but no one knows exactly how many people lived here in the first place the official numbers are outdated and the last attempt to hold the census in macedonia was in 2011 but it was never completed because of ethnic disputes disagreements between macedonians and albanians the country’s biggest minority group started when the country gained independence from yugoslavia in 1991. most of them revolve around the number of ethnic albanians in the country and their demands for greater rights political analyst albert muslin says the census has always been a political issue the two sides have different stories the macedonia side says that the albanians obstructed the census because they are not satisfied with the existing numbers on the other side albanians say that macedonians gave up because they are not satisfied with the numbers all un member states are obliged to conduct a census every 10 years there must be planned programs balanced regional growth the government needs to know where to open a school build a building fix the roads where a hospital is needed and what steps are needed for the country to function a lack of services is proving to be further drained on the population of buenitza nicolas says politicians come here only during election campaigns but soon there will be no voters or people to count in his village nafissalatic tierty world boynitza macedonia [Music] you

  2. People! Do NOT insult the Slavs – in general. Or the Turks for that matter…
Just call these "No Namers" what they are : "Western Boulgarians with a mix of a lot of Albanians , Vlachs, Greeks, Serbs, Roma etc etc" or for short: "NO NAMERS till further notice".
JUST SAY :- "Awaiting with anticipation to be your friend , when you are ready! In the meantime watch the video again to watch what is happening to your countryside in fYRoM while you enjoy your life in Toronto, Melbourne, Perth and wherever….
