My friend and I are heading to the route of the Carvans in October. We have 4-6 weeks and we are intrigued by the tougher more remote sections in the Atlas and the desert crossings. Of course I also love going through cool towns and eating good food but my favourite sections are generally deeper in wilderness.

That being said, any recommendations on direction? We originally thought starting in Tiznit in the South and going North, but the desert crossings will be hotter than if we start North and go south. But then we might run out of time and miss the Atlas Mountains? We are also fine taking a car to skip sections.

Would love advice if anyone had done the route. Thank you!
