    In 1975, art student Prakash Mahanandia met Charlotte Von Schedvin, a Swedish student who had come to India for a portrait. Their session blossomed into love, and they married, but Charlotte returned to Sweden while Prakash promised he would join her. With no money for a plane ticket, he sold his belongings, bought a bicycle, and embarked on an extraordinary journey. Drawing portraits along the way to survive, he pedaled thousands of miles over four months to finally reach Sweden. Reflecting on his journey, he said, “I had no money but I had to meet her. I was cycling for love.” Reunited, they’ve shared over forty years of love and adventure together.
