Hey everyone! We’re Eric Lagerstrom and Paula Findlay, we’re both professional triathletes, and we created That Triathlon Life! This video is all about our trip to France for the T100 French Riviera. This was Paula’s first podium at a T100 event, and her best PTO finish since winning Daytona in 2020.

[Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] So, we haven’t seen you since Vancouver, obviously. Yeah. What have you been up to since then, and how are you feeling coming into this race in France? Yeah, I’ve been just training and feeling pretty good. I’m getting to the point in my life where I just love staying at home as much as I can and I train way better there. So, minimizing travel and just being strategic about when I do travel overseas and selecting races that suit my strengths. So, coming to this race was kind of intentional and that it’s like a really hilly course and super nice here and I’m excited to be here and uh give it a shot. What are we doing? Of course. Hey everybody, we are in uh France and we are so excited. This is our second bike ride. We love bike riding here so much. And we’re going to go ride with Paula’s coach. Paul’s coach is an ex-professional cyclist. Now coach is professional cyclist and we’re going to learn how to do this bike course the best [Music] car switches and have them be the same. So I think just riding a bike well will really help on this course. I obviously don’t train on European roads cuz I live in the US, but um having just power on the hills and being able to ride the corners really well, I think will really be important on a course like this. So, for sure having a bike strength is is nice. I do feel some confidence having been here early and riding the course a lot and just loving riding hills. Uh I think it definitely suits me. [Music] [Music] No, we just have to go home for that. Yeah. No, no, there’s like six people filming Yelli with his helmet on the table and I think it’s it’s not you. No, they’re doing they’re doing it thing. see us. Okay. Hi, my name is Paula Finley. I am really excited to be here in France for the double weekend with T 100 and the WTCS Racing. And I don’t like making podium predictions, but here they are. You never know what’s going to happen. Uh, for the win on the men’s side, I’m going to go with I just blank. Aiden. I’m not picking Aiden, though. Hayden might win the Hower. Hower. Hower. Yeah. Okay. I’m going to go Hower, Miss Lechuk, and Hayden for third. Uh, Miss Lech cuz he’s fellow Canadian and he’s on fire. Um, and on the women’s race, I’m going to go Cassandra for first, Jean Laair, and Spivey for third. Good. Perfect. Thank you so much. You’re welcome. Yeah. I sounded like podium hopes. Um, so you were you were unhappy with your kind of rankings last year in ways of finishing, but if you take a step back, you’ve come top 10 in every single race other than Dubai, I think. Um, how do you how can you go the next step and get those top 10 into podium spots? Uh, have people not show up like this race? I’m just kidding. Um, yeah, I mean, it’s just the nature of this racing. It’s getting faster every single year. And in 2022 and 2023, I actually podium several times. So, I don’t think I’m any slower than I was back then. I think the sports just elevated in the T100 realm anyway. And the running’s gotten faster. The swimming’s gotten faster. The dynamics are different. And the the front group on the swim is just so fast that it’s hard to even be in the race if you can’t swim with Lucy. So, I think that’s where I’m struggling a little bit is yes, I’m strong on the bike, but it’s hard for me to even like be in the picture because the swim is so important now. So, a little bit like shortc course racing, it’s like reminiscent of those days. It’s really really hard to podium at these, but it would be awesome if I could at least once this year. All right, run course recon. Recon. We’re basically here at transition. Yeah, I don’t know where the transition is going to be. Must be like I think it’s over there where the sand is. run to a park over there and then run around it four times. It’s the run course. And the finish is over there, which is weird. So, transitions are the same, but finish is different. I bet you one of these yachts has a bathroom on it. Oh, look. They’re looking like they got multiple bathrooms each. McDonald’s probably has a bathroom, right? Have fun in there. Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] on course thoughts. Um, interesting. really hard to run pre-race cuz it’s so busy. But the little part where it finishes is uh super nice for running. Although I think we’re running on the middle of it in the pavement, not on the part we did. No. Yeah. No dirt. It’s hard to imagine there’ll be anyone spectating over there, but I’ll be spectating. Yeah. Interesting. True fans. I mean, it would be cool if it finished here because this is where everything ends. Yeah. It’s just amazing that they’re going to shut down any percentage of this road that we’re on. Oh, yeah. At any point. [Applause] Heat. Heat. Number 13 from Canada. She was fourth place in the San Francisco team 100 this year. Paula Finley. [Music] [Music] Chris, Australia, now for all the way up, [Music] ladies. Good job. Good job, ladies. Good job, ladies. the man’s right. [Music] [Music] here today. Paul heading into the Nice. [Music] One minute to Jazz in Georgia. Yeah, babe. Yes, leader is totally blown up. They’re right there. Like 30 seconds. [Applause] Nice. Yes. [Music] 25 seconds to India. You’re holding her. 24 seconds. You have to push. You got to push. You can do this. run the Canadian. She’s a superstar of the sport, the former number one in the world. And today, second place, competitor Paul Finley, one of the most popular women on the tour. Look at that great spy on the finish line right now is Lucy Bram. as she’s followed by Australian Salt House Lucy in fourth place is the French. And in second place and winner of the silver trophy representing Canada, Paula Finley. Congratulations to all the winners. Oh, we are together. Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music]

I love that opening sequence.
I was there from Vancouver. Even got selfie with Eric! Wish I could have cheered Paula across the finish line, but I was mid-swim in the horribly rough AG race trying not to drown! Biked the pro course day after to see what I missed! Was awesome and hard!
