Ellen Road plays host to its second Premier League fixture of the season and Newcastle United provide the opposition. The team that finished fifth last time out. So leadeds will be expecting a really tough test. Down the line it goes for the run forward of Ramsey. Ramsey in the penalty area. It’s on the penalty spot for Aula. Great block. Brilliant block from Goodmanson. Nonto in. It goes to Gruv. Gruv back to Nonto. That’s a great ball down the right side. Nonto up to the edge of the penalty area. Low cross in and it just evades the outstretched leg of Meta. Ruev Bogle tips it off and it’s broken for Meta on the edge of the area. Meta blocked off by two players. Comes in for Goodmanson. Oh, to the far post. It was a great ball from the fullback. Nonto again who’s found space coming inside. Still going. Tries a low drive. It took a deflection on its way. Tonali right foot swept to the far side of the penalty here where Trippy awaits and has it in. It goes to Murphy who shoots forwards and Perry has to beat it away from goal. Nonto across the edge of the area plays it for Bogle. Chance for Bogle to come in to shoot. Well, it opened up nicely in front of Jadden Bogle there. The shot is driven in and Perry at full stretch needs to get a hand up. Spacer plenty for Trippier on this near side. Plays his cross in towards a near post. Perry reacts quickly. Played back into Tanali. Tanali outs this right side. Nicely intercepted by Harrison. Harrison over the halfway line. Plays a ball through the middle. Calbertt Lewen takes it down. Touches a little heavy and he was just offside as well. Jaden Bogle. Aronson in. It goes to Calvin Lewin. Hits his shot low and hard. Aronson stuck to the touch line. Comes in, wins one challenge, gets past another into the box, cuts it back for Bogle. Bogle still going through into the middle. Oh, and Pope stretches an arm up. And that’s it. It’s full time. Well, it’s another point on the board. Leads United go another game unbeaten here at Ellen Road. And that run now stretches to over a year. And I think at the end of the evening, everyone will regard this as another excellent step. The full-time score line, it’s finished. Lead United nil. Newcastle United nil.

Just need end product now hopefully it will come in the easier fixtures Fulham and Wolves after the Break. Would take 2 more pts away at least

Think we need a Haaland, or a Kane, a massive goal threat, no disrespect to who we have, but we only had 1 goal penalty in 3 games in league.

Valuable point, yes, but the REAL POINT is that we need a potent marksman – a six yard predator – together with a creative no. 10 if we are to survive (unlike some of the chicken sh** we've brought in!!!). Wake up yank owners.

Tbh, if your final touch was a tad better and let’s say Calvert was match fit and sharp you’d have nicked that. Newcastle fan wasn’t expecting much there cos of the window interfering but both defences were fine. Ya keeper looks decent. Dunno why the stick he’s okay him he had control. Perhaps Newcastle were leggy but when it comes down to it you were unbeaten in a year in Leeds I think and last two times we played you ended in draws. Plus no striker decent enough then for us. Think now WISSA and Nic in we will score goals. Was only a year ago we scored 108 goals – only 25 of them from Isak. So we’ve goals all over but we’ve only scored twice since we beat Chelsea towards end last season. Need step up. Good thing we’ve wolves next game. They’ll he up for it tho! Dressing the Barca match! lol.
