Have you ever imagined riding your bike on an escalator? Sounds crazy, right? In the city of Tronheim, Norway, there’s a unique invention called the Bicycle Lift. The world’s very first bike escalator. It was designed to help cyclists climb steep hills without getting off their bikes. The system is simple. Riders place one foot on a small foot plate that moves upward, pushing them along the slope while they stay seated on their bike. This bike escalator stretches about 130 m uphill and has already carried thousands of cyclists each year. Not only does it make cycling easier, but it also encourages people to choose bikes over cars. Imagine if we had bike escalators in other countries, too. Cycling would be even more fun and eco-friendly. Good time.
