I bought this (near) mint condition s2l raw lacquer Brompton and now I’ve read horror stories of the lacquer bikes rusting away. I commute each day in all weathers, and want to know if it’ll survive.
Regular maintenance and keeping it dry! After a wet ride, give it a wipe down and preferably keep it indoors where it’s warmer and water will evaporate faster! You can’t prevent rust forever, but oiling and greasing your ingress areas will help prevent it. As far as I’ve read, it’s usually just a little aesthetic rust you’ll get.

One tip is keep the red collar on the pump pushed into the handle – it makes sure the pump can’t be bumped out and fall into the spokes.
