🚨Traffic update!🚨: ‘ There’s been a crash on the A1 footpath between the bakery and the school. Two people collided, realised they’re old school friends, and went for coffee. The expected delay is around 45 minutes, roughly the time it takes to finish a cappuccino.’

Does that sound odd? That’s because you only ever hear traffic updates about cars!

On September 22 (European Car-Free Day), together with Matej Praprotnik, VAL202 and RTV Slovenia we’re flipping the script! And ask you to join.

#Day22: traffic updates for people, not cars.Instead of traffic jam talk, imagine updates for walking, wheeling, cycling and public transport.

📣 Are you/do you know a #radiostation📻 brave enough to join the action? Let us know and we will grow the movement.

Listeners: spot an obstacle? Facing a problem? Share it with #streetsforpeople #day22 #TrafficUpdatesForPeople

Traffic updates are everywhere all the time, but they’re always about car traffic. What if we for one day only flip the script and talk about people instead? Join us on September 22nd, the International Carfree Day, for what we will call day 22, traffic updates for people, not cars. Instead of reporting traffic jams for drivers, let’s share updates for people walking, wheeling, cycling, or taking the train or bus. Is there pavement blocked? Is their bike lane obstructed? Is there a delay on their metro? That’s all traffic, too, and it deserves our attention. So radio stations slip in one people centered update or go big and dedicate the whole day to it just like balestova in Slovenia. And listeners you can also play spot an obstacle snap it share it and tag it with # streets for people. On day 22 let’s talk about moving people instead of moving cars.
